Kakashi once again launched himself at Apocalypse as he thought, 'The barrier won't be an issue since I can get past it with my Kamui. The issue is his armor which is too durable. At least as durable as Cap's shield.'
Kakashi's right hand crackled with Chidori. He aimed straight for the gap in Apocalypse's armor near the neck. One clean strike. That was all he needed.
But Apocalypse did not flinch. The man simply raised one gauntleted hand. A wall of purple energy snapped into place as the barrier was formed.
Kakashi twisted mid-air. His body became intangible. He passed through the barrier as well as Apocalyps's body. He reappeared behind Apocalypse. Lightning blade extended. He thrust toward the exposed skin at the base of the neck.
Apocalypse moved faster than should have been possible for someone so large. He spun. His other arm came up. A wave of telekinetic force slammed into Kakashi's chest. The impact felt like being hit by a train. Kakashi flew backward.
Kakashi had to use his Kamui to teleport himself to the Kamui dimension to halt his fall and the force behind him before coming back to the real world. The dimension swallowed him for less than a second. He reoriented himself. Then he stepped back into reality.
And as soon as Kakashi appeared, Apocalypse appeared right next to him from a portal and took Kakashi by the neck.
The blue hand closed around Kakashi's throat like a vice. Metal fingers dug into skin. Apocalypse lifted him off the ground effortlessly. Kakashi's feet dangled. His hands came up instinctively. Lightning sparked along his fingers. He tried to pry the grip loose. But it was no use. The strength that Apocalypse possessed was monstrous.
"It's over mortal," Apocalypse said. His voice was calm. Almost bored.
Kakashi choked out, "Is… it?"
He pointed a finger to the right as he himself disappeared into butterflies.
And then Apocalypse realised something wrong as he used his telepathy powers to focus inwards.
The illusion shattered. Apocalypse's eyes widened in shock as Kakashi that was supposed to be held by his neck was next to him and cut his left arm from where there was no armor.
Lightning blade sliced clean. The arm fell. Blue blood sprayed across the sand. The limb hit the ground with a heavy thud. Apocalypse stared at the stump. No pain showed on his face. There was only surprise.
Kakashi immediately backed away at that as Apocalypse looked in shock at his cut arm on the ground.
Apocalypse looked up slowly. His eyes locked on Kakashi. "Oh that was not mind control was it? An illusion? No. An illusion that you placed in my mind perhaps."
He muttered the words calmly. Not caring anything about the blood coming from his now half arm.
He picked up the arm and placed it on his bleeding wound and to Kakashi's surprise, the arm attached itself and healed. Flesh knit together. Skin sealed. Bone reconnected. In seconds the arm was whole again. Apocalypse rolled his shoulder once. Flexed his fingers. Checked the range of motion. As if nothing had happened.
Kakashi thought, 'Regeneration as well. It seems that I have finally found myself an opponent with as many abilities as I as Tony would put it.'
Apocalypse spoke again. His voice carried across the battlefield. "I praise you mortal for damaging me. Not many could boast about it. Now it is my turn to show you the power of a God."
He raised one hand. The sand of the desert moved and formed a large fist that moved to smash Kakashi who used Kamui to just pass through it.
The sand fist crashed down. A crater formed. Sand exploded outward. Kakashi had already phased through. He reappeared behind Apocalypse. Lightning gathered again in his hand.
More sand hands rose by the dozens. They smashed toward Kakashi from every direction. Kakashi anticipated the attacks using his Sharingan and used his Kamui to dodge them.
'Sand manipulation at the level of Gaara too,' Kakashi thought with a wry smile.
Apocalypse watched him flicker in and out of reality. "A very troublesome power you have there. But can you use it while protecting your allies?"
Kakashi's eyes widened as he saw Apocalypse sending sand spears at Natasha.
The spears flew fast. Natasha spun as she tried to dodge but they were too many and too quick for her. Kakashi had to use Kamui teleportation to appear behind her.
She finally turned to see Kakashi behind him with sand spears about to impale him.
"Kakashi!" she shouted as the sand spears speared through Kakashi's vest.
"Oi don't be so dramatic," Kakashi said turning to show that the sand spears had stopped after tearing through his vest and his skin had turned dark and protected him. He had used Earth Release: Iron Spear Jutsu.
The black skin shone under torn fabric. The spears bent slightly. Then stopped. They could not pierce further.
Natasha exhaled sharply. Relief flooded her face. "Things are not looking good though for you."
"Yeah it seems so," Kakashi said turning and locking eyes back with Apocalypse.
Tony chimed in from the comms. "Well hold the big guy for now. Everyone else should finish their fights and be on their way to helping you, Kakashi. Now that's something that I did not think that I would be saying after what we saw in the battle of New York."
He said the last part with a chuckle.
Kakashi smiled underneath his mask. "Help would be appreciated and take your battles a little further away. He is trying to lure me by attacking others."
