Holding the medicine, Mason Bennett looked at the still sleeping Bella Green, his eyes filled with deep distress, but he had no choice but to wake her up.
"Bella, wake up and take your medicine before going back to sleep." That gentle voice, almost dripping with tenderness, sounded in the girl's ear.
Filled with infinite gentleness and heartache.
Yet Bella Green couldn't hear his words at all.
Mason Bennett furrowed his brows, looking at the medicine in his hand, feeling somewhat at a loss.
Beside him, Mark Manning was almost startled to his knees by the sound.
What did he just hear? Was he hallucinating? How could that voice come from Mason Bennett's mouth?
In a flash, he leaned over, with a serious expression, offering advice.
"Well, if Miss Green can't take it, you could feed her, you know."
Mason responded with a frank look, carrying a hint of inquiry.
Mark lightly coughed and continued, "I mean, with your mouth, you know."
