UK:GSW Chapter 301 – Naruto: I Deserve Death… The Infinite Possibilities of the Shinobi World War
"So that's what you look like when you use the Sexy Jutsu and Harem Jutsu, Naruto… So, Naruto, you didn't model yourself after that woman named Naruko below, yet her name is still Naruko."
"Even if this is a parallel world, such a coincidence is way too strange. So, we can boldly assume that the girl named Naruko is related to you in some way."
"The first possibility is that this girl is you, Naruto, from a parallel world. You two do look extremely alike—like a female version of yourself."
"The second possibility is that the girl might actually be your mother. After all, it's normal for children to resemble their mothers."
"Personally, I lean toward the second possibility. Because if that's true, then it makes perfect sense why the Fourth—why Lord Minato treats you so well. Because your mother and Lord Minato are actually family. He might be your mother's brother or cousin. Just the fact that the girl named Naruko looks so much like Lord Minato proves their connection isn't ordinary."
"And with that connection, it's only natural that Lord Minato cares so much about you."
Among the trio of transmigrators, Sai laid out his analysis, his tone calm and unhurried, without a hint of emotion.
However, for Naruto Uzumaki, it was like a thunderclap—his whole body froze, and his expression shifted rapidly until it finally collapsed into devastation.
In the next instant, Naruto collapsed to the floor in an OTL pose, his face contorted in a pained mask and bound by the chains of regret. "How could this be? If that's the case, if that's really the case… then doesn't that mean… I—I saw my mom's entire body?!"
By the end, he was clutching his head and crying out in agony, looking like he was about to break down completely. The commotion startled the service staff outside the VIP suite, prompting them to rush over to check the situation.
Fortunately, Sakura Haruno and Sai were still there. They quickly dismissed the staff. Sakura looked at Naruto, who had fallen into a state of "I really deserve to die," with a sympathetic gaze, momentarily at a loss for what to say.
Though the truth is often harsh, this particular truth was just too abstract—no one quite knew how to respond.
Sai, on the other hand, remained calm and said plainly, "Naruto, what are you talking about? All you did was use the Transformation Jutsu to make others see your own body. What does that have to do with your mother?"
Hearing that, Naruto stared at Sai with lifeless eyes, then silently got up, pulled a rope from who-knows-where, and looped it over the ceiling in the suite, preparing to hang himself on the spot.
Of course, he didn't succeed, as Sakura and Sai frantically stopped him. Sai, still puzzled, asked Naruto why he was trying to hang himself. The bizarre behavior left everyone baffled, and Naruto's expression grew even more hollow in response.
Sakura's face twitched at the absurdity. She very nearly punched Sai—this guy who couldn't read the room if his life depended on it.
Eventually, after Sakura roared at Sai to shut up, she managed to console Naruto, whose soul seemed to have fled his body. She reassured him that everything was just speculation—that it might not be true—and admitted that Sai did make a valid point: Naruto's Sexy Jutsu and Naruko's appearance weren't exactly the same. At the very least, Naruko didn't have whisker marks on her face.
After much coaxing and comforting, they finally managed to dissuade Naruto from attempting to end it all, averting the crisis of a parallel world losing its child of destiny.
At the same time, Naruko and Minato Namikaze had already entered the Genjutsu Game, beginning the exhibition match of "Shinobi World War."
The two had both played this game in advance, so after logging in, they swiftly chose their respective factions. What surprised everyone was that neither of them chose the Hidden Leaf Village of the Land of Fire. Instead, they picked Iwagakure of the Land of Earth and Kirigakure of the Land of Water.
This choice was unexpected, and many couldn't help glancing toward the three Kage seated on the central platform.
Coincidentally, the factions featured in today's exhibition match were the only two among the Five Great Nations not present at the event.
If that's not deliberate, who'd believe it?
Both the Third Raikage and the Third Kazekage wore gloating smiles, silently anticipating the reactions of the Mizukage and Tsuchikage when they saw this live broadcast. It would certainly be entertaining.
As for the idea that they might not be watching—
Heh. The Third Raikage and Third Kazekage knew their old rivals too well.
With the Konoha Game Association broadcasting this event across the continent, there was no way those two wouldn't be watching. Even if the Mizukage couldn't receive the signal directly, he'd definitely find a way to view it. The event was too important for either of them to ignore.
Soon, "Naruko" and Minato initiated battle mode. As the live feed projected the in-game scenes for all to see, both players were shown starting with a base and several "Logistics Genin." These units were akin to peasant workers in real-time strategy games, assigned to gather resources and construct buildings.
The two players commanded their Logistics Genin to collect resources and then sent one off to start building structures, entering operational mode.
This was the classic RTS opening strategy: focus on development and economy before engaging. Neither sent scouts—not because they hadn't thought of it, but because…
Well, Minato could definitely have thought of scouting with peasant units.
However, before the exhibition began, Uchiha Kei had already instructed them not to showcase too many tactics—just to follow a standard build order.
After all, the point of an exhibition match was the performance, not flashy micro.
So both Naruko and Minato focused on economy: building more Logistics Genin, constructing new buildings, producing troops, and recruiting "War Heroes."
These "War Heroes" were equivalent to hero units from Warcraft III—in the context of Shinobi World War, they represented Elite Jōnin with unique abilities and multiple skills. Units led by a War Hero would be significantly stronger, and the hero could gain experience and level up by defeating neutral monsters or enemy troops.
Additionally, War Heroes had six inventory slots for items, which could include consumables or equipment, but were limited to six total.
If a War Hero died, they could be revived at the building that recruited them.
Soon, viewers watched as Naruko and Minato each led their War Heroes and accompanying troops to hunt wild monsters, gaining experience and leveling up.
Commentators Hyūga Ruyane and Yamanaka Hakuta—both trained in advance—narrated the gameplay with enthusiasm, helping viewers understand the mechanics and strategies behind the match.
The audience listened intently and watched with bated breath. The battlefield on-screen felt vivid and epic, stirring their hearts. It really felt like being there.
Not long after, the two players clashed, presenting a chaotic scene of massive armies colliding.
Yes—it looked impressive. The clash was fierce and brutal, a complete melee brawl filled with hot-blooded fury and savage intensity.
In truth, it was a basic mutual A-click clash with little technique, purely relying on unit counts and faction strengths.
Ultimately, Minato won the first clash as the commander of Kirigakure.
Immediately, responses flooded in. Most of the feedback boiled down to: "Iwagakure and the Land of Earth are trash," "Kirigakure and the Land of Water are awesome," "Minato is strong and handsome"—classic praise-dunk dynamics.
Then, after another phase of economy and development, the two sides engaged in a second large-scale battle. This time, Minato's Kirigakure troops lost—Naruko had upgraded her army and brought more power to bear, while Minato's slower upgrades led to his defeat.
Frankly, this outcome was a bit absurd in RTS logic. Large-scale battles usually result in a snowball effect—once defeated, recovery is rare.
But again, this was an exhibition match. The focus was on showcasing game content, not competitive prowess. With Minato deliberately holding back, it was perfectly normal for Naruko to win once.
This led to even louder complaints about how weak Kirigakure and the Land of Water were—especially from Minato's fans, who couldn't accept his loss and blamed his faction.
Watching this, the Third Raikage and Third Kazekage laughed in schadenfreude. They had predicted this exact outcome—and it came true.
They weren't the ones embarrassed, so they could keep enjoying the show.
Meanwhile, both were secretly evaluating the game itself. Though still a bit fantastical, the depiction of faction strength was surprisingly accurate. The forces shown for Iwagakure and Kirigakure in the exhibition mirrored their real-world capabilities when evenly matched.
This meant the game had great potential for training strategists. With proper use, villages could cheaply mass-train basic commanders.
Yes—basic commanders. True top-tier commanders still needed real battle experience to develop.
But this alone was enough. More than top brass, villages lacked grassroots tacticians.
So, adopt it! This game must be adopted!
And it must be the uncut version!
At this point, the two Kage weren't even watching the battle anymore—they were already strategizing how to negotiate with Konoha for the full version of Shinobi World War.
The match soon entered a new phase. Both players moved toward the central zone of the map—a special area where the game's super monster unit, the Tailed Beast, was located.
In the official map design, many maps featured Tailed Beasts, which would scale in strength based on map size and player count.
The larger the map and the more players, the stronger the Tailed Beast. On the largest map with the most players, the boss would be the Nine Tails.
In this exhibition match, however, the map was small—so the boss was Shukaku, the One-Tail.
Though Tailed Beasts' power isn't strictly ranked by the number of tails—in truth, the One-Tail isn't exactly weak—the game followed the general perception: more tails = stronger.
Thus, Shukaku became the weakest by default.
The two Nine Tails were all for it—and proceeded to mock the hell out of Shukaku.
Even the usually miserable alternate-world Nine Tails burst into gleeful laughter at Shukaku's appearance in the exhibition. The whole fox was radiant with joy.
If Shukaku had been present, the Nine Tails would've absolutely roasted him nonstop.
The two have always been rivals, after all.
Back to the game—these Tailed Beasts weren't just for show. They were strategic super-units.
Initially wild and extremely powerful, even the "weakest" Shukaku required entire armies to bring down.
Defeating a Tailed Beast would grant vast resources and top-tier equipment. The Beasts would also respawn over time—so players could farm them repeatedly for materials and loot.
However, that wasn't the optimal strategy.
The best method was to seal a Tailed Beast inside a War Hero, turning them into a Jinchūriki, granting them a permanent stat boost and a unique skill: Tailed Beast Transformation.
When used, the War Hero would directly transform into the corresponding Tailed Beast, allowing the player to control the Beast in battle.
Each Tailed Beast had its own set of powerful abilities, making them incredibly valuable on the battlefield. Most of the time, gaining one meant virtually securing victory.
Of course, since it's a game, no unit could be truly invincible. If a Jinchūriki War Hero died even once, they would lose the transformation power, and the Tailed Beast would return to its spawn point to revive later.
In short, no "god-tier" power existed in this game. Balance was key—while retaining the flavor of the Naruto world, it left plenty of room for skill expression and tactics.
And that was only the official gameplay.
Uchiha Kei had also released a map editor, meaning once players learned to use it, they could create countless new modes for Shinobi World War—just like how Warcraft III's editor on Earth birthed the genre-defining Dota.
