Lucian had barely gotten any sleep. He had spent the entire night at the base, questioning the cab driver who had been with Axel during the rescue. From the moment Axel was found until dawn broke, Lucian didn't rest. He grilled the driver for every possible detail, pressing for anything that could help him understand what had happened. Only when he was sure there was nothing more to learn did he finally release the poor man, having someone from his team escort him safely back to his family.
By the time morning came, Lucian was exhausted, but concern for Axel and jayvaughn outweighed his need for sleep. After a quick shower, he grabbed his jacket and headed straight to the hospital.
So imagine his surprise and speechlessness when he arrived at the hallway where Axel's ward is supposedly located only to see right before his eyes, the woman he had been quietly admiring—Mar, Axel's sister—locked in what looked like a ridiculous struggle with a man.
