"To this day I do not have any physical records that detail what your mother's agreement with Cyrus Sunstriker was...but I do know that part of that deal allowed her to raise you in secrecy in a sacred forest owned the ruling dukedom without prying eyes." Derek carefully explained.
After a thorough explanation of what he DOES know officially transpired with the incident of the Jade Forest and Mycean, both Kaida and Firion are shocked by the amount of conspiracies from both sides!
The red-haired maiden looked especially disturbed by these revelations, Firion was preparing to console her, but what she said next shocked everyone!
"Duke Derek Moonspeaker? Thank you for informing me of all of this." Kaida stated as she bowed her head, however, she continues to speak, "Please tell Duke Cyrus that I AM NOT an object of the Sunstriker family! Nor do I owe them anything! Tell that man to leave me, and my husband Firion, alone!"
The room eyes all fell on Kaida! They were shocked by her declaration and brushing aside the most powerful elf in Aldenburg so casually!
She may have been raised in a forest, but she definitely radiated a powerful, noble aura that captured her husbands heart and appreciation for her bravery.
"Calm down mwanangu." Nkiri laughed! "No mpumbavu is gonna bother you here. Omari definitely would not allow Aldenburg to tread these lands so casually to collect one child. Derek came to bring you your legal documents so you two may travel with a merchant vessel that will depart from here a couple of weeks from now, had he not come you would be turned away by all ships in this area."
Firion looked down at his family's records and even saw the marriage certificate with his and Kaida's name on it...the only thing it was lacking was a surname.
"Your eventually gonna have to decide on a proper family name before you depart from here..." Derek stated as he got up. "Me and Nafula will be in Taraji for a couple of days as we'll be staying here with the clan while my precious Fara plays with her cousins."
"Aaahhh...that reminds me Derek, you really should not have given our daughter the extra allowance...wait until you see what she bought..." Nafula smirked as she leaned against the door.
Suddenly the duke's demeanor shifted from confident to dread as they walked out of the hut.
Firion and Kaida were then reminded of their original meeting!
"Ahem! Do you two still wanna see a possibility?" Nkiri offered. "I know it was sudden, but Derek insisted on explaining your situation so that you may better understand your journey, and it may even help you see where you must go."
The two carefully looked at each other and nodded.
The oracle sat on the ground in front of the sparkling mana stones and closed her eyes while she folded her hands.
"Both of you, put one hand each on my shoulders, close your eyes, and focus your concentration on the question that trouble you both the most. I will tell you if I see something." She instructed.
Both the muscular elf and the small deva put their hands on the lioness. Very carefully, they synchronized their thoughts.
("Where can we go live to in peace and start our family?) Both Kaida and Firion shared as they also held each other's hand.
Soon, they both sense a strong, atmospheric pressure that makes them break out in cold sweats.
Nkiri reminded them calmly, "Stay focused you two. It may seem overwhelming, but its merely the spirits of Ogun channeling their knowledge to my eyes. Relax, your not in any danger."
They remained in that stance for several minutes...it seemed as though the future was too uncertain...but then the oracle start clenching her eyes harder...
"I see....I see something... I see the shape of a waning moon...no...its a crescent shape coastline near a cliff!" The oracle describes her vision as it takes shape," Its hard to make out, but I believe I know this place...its where one of my son's moved to centuries ago, its the village of Selene, its located on the east side of Eurelca towards the south!"
"Selene...is that where Kaida and myself should go to start our legacy?" Firion inquired.
She herself was questioning this fortune. ("Is there something special about this village?")
They removed their hands from Nkiri's shoulders as she stood up and wiggled her lion ears.
"Selene is a very small community, only a fraction compared to something like Taraji. Its composed of individuals who only wish for peace and quiet their lives." The oracle revealed.
In that moment the path became more clear to the new couple as they traded glances and smiled confidently.
Their goal is to find their forever home in Selene!
