Chapter 85 - Chapter 84: Trap Girl

Chapter 84: Trap Girl

The next morning, Kieu Ly woke up. She turned over and looked at Toan Phuong—he was still sleeping. Only now did she feel free to study his face closely without feeling awkward. Smooth skin, refined features—honestly, she had never dated anyone as good-looking as him. No wonder Huong Tra had called him a "snack." Unconsciously, Kieu Ly let out a soft laugh.

What stood out the most on that sculpted face was his eyes. When he looked at someone with intent, they were dangerously seductive. Even in sleep, he looked serene. And those eyelashes—so long. If he were an idol, people would probably assume his looks were the result of countless spa sessions and cosmetic surgery. He seemed taller than the last time they parted ways back at the old apartment too. The night before, when he'd suddenly hugged and kissed her, she had definitely felt he'd grown. Boys really do hit growth spurts fast at this age.

Kieu Ly reached her hand out, wanting to touch his eyelashes, but just as her fingers neared, Toan Phuong opened his eyes. She quickly pulled her hand back, looking away in embarrassment.

"I must look pretty handsome, huh?" Toan Phuong smiled.

"Yeah," she replied.

"Someone looks like she's about to cave."

 "Cave to what?"

"To falling for me."

"Life is long. Fleeting emotions don't mean anything. Anyway, I have to head to school. You should get up and go."

"I can wait until you're done. I wanted to explore London with you this afternoon."

"I'll be heading straight to the library afterward. And besides, the weather this time of year is awful—can't really go anywhere."

"You can't just go on one date with me?"

 "No, I'm really busy."

"Then does this mean you agree to be my girlfriend?"

"Focus on your studies instead of constantly talking about love."

There it was again. Suddenly, Toan Phuong felt like Kieu Ly was a total trap girl. She had already kissed him, yet refused to define the relationship. She'd let things get a little intimate sometimes, only to turn cold right after—like a drunk guy sobering up and not wanting to take responsibility. Frustrated, he muttered:

"You're just like a trap girl—every time you sober up, it's like I'm cursed. After we get close, you just act like nothing happened. You kiss me but still won't call me your boyfriend."

"Because I once promised someone that I wouldn't date anyone while studying abroad."

That shut Toan Phuong up. After all, it was a promise he himself had made her give. Still, being bound by it now meant Kieu Ly wouldn't easily fall into anyone's arms just because she was feeling vulnerable in a foreign land.

But that "fellow townsman" from the night before… Why did they look so cozy standing next to each other? Just thinking about it made something inside him churn.
