│3rd Person POV │
[After speaking with the Library Guardian, I selected the 25 most effective Meditation Techniques available in the Outer Library. In addition to those, I also possess the Meditation Technique Sect Leader Ning gave me; the best one currently owned by the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.]
[Alongside those, I borrowed several books on Human Anatomy as well, specifically ones focusing on Meridians and Acupoints.]
[My goal now is to thoroughly study and memorize all the contents. Understanding them deeply would be ideal, of course, but even if I don't comprehend everything, memorizing the material will suffice.]
[Only then can I use the System reward, Enlightenment Card, and hopefully create a Cultivation Technique that would serve as the foundation for my future growth.]
[At minimum, this technique must be on par with—or ideally surpass—the Mysterious Heaven Technique recorded in the original version of the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. Not the watered-down version that Tang San left behind for the Tang Sect before his ascension to the God Realm.]
"What?!" Ma Xiaotao nearly jumped to her feet. "The Tang Sect's Mysterious Heaven Technique is a castrated version? How is that possible?!"
Thankfully, Zhang Lexuan had already used her spiritual power to isolate the area. No sound would leak beyond their small gathering. Otherwise, it would be quite a problem to explain where they heard that the Tang Sect's techniques were castrated versions.
"Maybe if you read the Diary properly instead of shouting like a startled goose, you'd understand what he meant."
Ma Xiaotao's brow twitched upon hearing Ling Luochen's mocking words. "Huh? You wanna fight or something?!"
Before the two could escalate into their usual bickering, Zhang Lexuan cut in with a gentle but firm tone, "Alright, enough. Let's focus on the Diary."
After a beat, the tension dissipated. Ma Xiaotao huffed and turned her attention back to her Diary Copy. Ling Luochen gave a smug little smirk but also refocused. Zhang Lexuan also did the same.
[Honestly, I don't get that guy. On one hand, he didn't want the Tang Sect to decline. On the other hand, he also didn't want to share the original versions of the techniques from the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record.]
[From what I know, there are two main reasons behind the decline of the Tang Sect.]
[First, every Sect Master of the Tang Sect must have Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul. This rule was established in honor of the founder of the Tang Sect, Tang San, who had Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul. What utter nonsense!]
[Tang San's Martial Soul was Blue Silver Emperor, a top-tier Martial Soul whose quality is no worse than Clear Sky Hammer. Even before his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline was awakened by the Blue Silver King when he reached level 50, his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul's quality was much higher than ordinary Blue Silver Grass. When this rule was established, I believe Tang San should have clarified this matter. But of course that selfish hypocrite wouldn't do something like that.]
[The second reason? Hidden Weapons fell behind after the introduction of advanced Soul Tool technology by the Sun Moon Empire, following the merger of the Sun Moon and Douluo Continents.]
[Again, what utter nonsense! Even today, the most powerful Soul Tools can barely match the full-force attack of a Limit Douluo. And yet one of the strongest Hidden Weapons, the Torrential Pear Blossom Needle, was powerful enough to injure Qian Renxue, a newly ascended God, ten thousand years ago.]
[Sure, that particular weapon required Master Lou Gao to sacrifice his life to complete it, but I refuse to believe it was the only powerful Hidden Weapon recorded in the Hundred Hidden Weapons manual of the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. There must have been other tools effective even against Soul Douluo-level experts.]
[If Tang San had left behind the crafting methods of those weapons… would the Tang Sect have declined so easily? I doubt it. Especially considering how the early Soul Tools of the Sun Moon Empire couldn't even reliably threaten a Titled Douluo.]
"This…! I didn't know that Hidden Weapons capable of hurting Gods existed." Ling Luochen muttered with a dazed look.
"Senior Sister, do you know how effective Tang Sect's strongest Hidden Weapons are?"
Ma Xiaotao asked this because she knew that Zhang Lexuan was one of the most knowledgeable people in the Shrek Academy now, even when counting the Elders and Pavilion Master.
Zhang Lexuan would definitely be one of the few to know about the capabilities of Hidden Weapons produced by the Tang Sect in all its history.
"As far as I know, the strongest Hidden Weapons produced by Tang Sect in history are only effective against Soul Saint level or below. Additionally, those aren't capable of doing anything against a Soul Saint if they use Martial Soul True Body."
Hearing this, Ling Luochen and Ma Xiaotao were stunned. Their image of the Sea God Tang was crumbling slightly. The same was also true for Zhang Lexuan.
[Similarly, if Tang San had left behind the original Mysterious Heaven Technique, then even with the ridiculous rule of Sect Masters having Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, the Tang Sect wouldn't have declined.]
[Because the most miraculous aspect of the original Mysterious Heaven Technique is that one could cultivate it even without awakening their Martial Soul. This means that before awakening their Martial Soul, their Soul Power level could be artificially increased, potentially allowing them to have Innate Full Soul Power after the awakening.]
Boom—!
The minds of all three women reeled as the latest Diary entry landed like a thunderclap.
Innate Full Soul Power was an exceedingly rare trait—even in this era. Even within the hallowed halls of Shrek Academy, the Douluo Continent's premier Advanced Soul Master Academy, those born with Innate Full Soul Power were few and far between.
Although Zhang Lexuan, Ma Xiaotao, and Ling Luochen each possessed Innate Full Soul Power, they were the only ones among the current Inner Court students known to do so. It was a rare blessing, one they had long believed to be determined entirely by fate and bloodline.
And now, Ye Chen casually revealed that there existed a cultivation technique capable of raising one's Innate Soul Power? The notion was staggering.
While all the Diary Copy Holders were shocked and intrigued by the claim, no one was more affected than a young girl in Heaven Dou City—the capital of the Heavenly Soul Empire—reading the Diary from within a modest, aging compound.
Her name was Tang Ya, the nine-year-old daughter of the current Tang Sect Master.
For the little girl who bore the heavy mantle of the Tang Sect's next generation, Ye Chen's words were not just surprising. They were devastating.
Despite her age, Tang Ya already understood the dire state of her sect. Once a legendary powerhouse known across the continent, the Tang Sect was now a shadow of its former glory. Its current membership numbered less than fifty, most of whom were elderly. Recruitment had all but dried up, and public faith in their teachings had long since faded.
If things continued like this, the sect would likely vanish within a generation or two.
And now, to learn that the revered founder of the Tang Sect, the Sea God Tang San himself, had withheld the original techniques? That the version of the Mysterious Heaven Technique taught within the sect was incomplete?
Hatred. Disbelief. Rage. Grief.
These emotions churned violently within the young girl's heart.
How could the hero from her childhood stories, the man who defeated the Evil Spirit Hall, the legend who created Hidden Weapons that could injure Gods, have been so selfish?
She didn't question the Diary's authenticity. First, Ye Chen clearly believed he was the only one with access to it. Why lie or slander in what he thought was a private journal? Second, the inconsistencies had always been there; subtle, unspoken gaps in the stories she'd grown up hearing.
Why couldn't the modern Tang Sect reproduce the Hidden Weapons of old?
Why were even their strongest weapons barely effective against Soul Kings, let alone Titled Douluo?
Only now did those unanswered questions begin to form a painful truth.
Tang Ya clutched her small fists and bit her lip. Her vision blurred as tears threatened to fall. The admiration she once held for Tang San was beginning to crack under the weight of this painful revelation.
