Arima had little trouble suppressing Chinjao. Still, with his Observation Haki, he sensed a large number of pirates rushing toward them.
He turned to Tsunade and said, "Tsunade, head back to the ship first. Leave the harbor right away, I'll catch up later."
Locked in battle with the Happo Navy, Tsunade was holding her ground, but she hadn't planned to drag the fight out anyway.
With the help of her clones, she easily broke away from the enemy lines. In no time, she reached the Senju's engine room, fired up the thrusters, and sped away from the coast.
By the time Kano's navy readied their sails to give chase, they could only watch as the ship had already left them far behind.
Soon enough, they realized they might completely lose track of it. Frustration rippled through their ranks.
But at least the true instigator hadn't left, could tens of thousands of them not deal with one man?
At that moment, more navy forces arrived at the battlefield. Layer upon layer, they surrounded Arima, leaving not even the faintest chance of escape.
An ordinary man, caught in such a siege, would have no choice but to surrender, trapped like a beast in a cage. But Arima was not ordinary.
"So you plan to gang up and kill me?" Arima asked, sweeping his gaze across the encircling pirates.
"It may go against our honor, but we have no other choice. Aside from that accursed Garp, I've never faced such a troublesome opponent!"
Chinjao declared solemnly, keeping his eyes locked on Arima, wary of his every move.
"Then I should feel honored," Arima said calmly. "After all, I've forced you to abandon your precious code of honor."
"You helped me regain the drill atop my head, something I'd lost for nearly twenty years.
By rights, I ought to thank you. But since we are enemies, I cannot hold back. I cannot leave behind such a threat!"
"Then perhaps I should erase every last one of you," Arima countered, his tone sharp.
Chinjao barked a laugh. "What dream are you chasing? At least tell me your name. An old man like me deserves to know who it is I'm killing!"
"Me?" Arima smiled faintly. "Remember it well. Senju Arima, Hokage of Konoha."
He deliberately turned his head toward the journalist hiding in the shadows, making sure the words were caught on record.
Even facing certain death, Chinjao managed a rare moment of patience.
In the crowd, Sai, newly revived, shouted from the rear, "That bastard's head is mine!"
Arima ignored the clamor. Instead, he fixed his gaze on the trembling journalist. "Did you get all that?"
"Y-yes… I-I got it all…" the reporter stammered, cowed by Arima's overwhelming presence.
"Good. Then as a reward, I'll give you the safest vantage point."
With those words, Arima used the Flying Thunder God Technique, instantly transporting the journalist to a distant watchtower.
He himself reappeared on the open sea, not far from the navy's forces.
The journalist froze for a moment, then steadied himself and resumed recording with professional focus.
The sailors, watching Arima slip out of their encirclement so easily, panicked. They assumed it was some Devil Fruit power.
But when they saw him reappear only a short distance away on the water, their nerves eased. So, he can't escape far after all, they thought.
Hands clasped, Arima entered Sage Mode. As the pirates surged toward him, he murmured, "Then let's stretch a bit, shall we?"
Seeing their opponent poised for battle, Chinjao and the navy's elites lunged first, hoping to overwhelm him before he could strike. Behind them, a tide of pirates followed.
Arima's hands blurred through seals. "Sage Art: Water Release – Water Dragon Bullet!"
From the sea rose several massive water dragons, scattering the enemy's formation.
Yet Chinjao and his lieutenants weren't so easily shaken, they anticipated the attack's trajectory and used Moonwalk to evade.
For the first time, Arima witnessed Moonwalk firsthand, a technique that allowed men to leap freely through the sky.
Opening his Mangekyo Sharingan, he dissected every detail of their movements. So it was simply explosive footwork, stamping the air hard enough to stay aloft.
'Different world, different skills,' Arima thought. Life in the pirate world had steadily strengthened his body. He wasn't able to maintain Moonwalk for long, but for short bursts, it was within reach.
As more and more pirates rushed at him, Arima clasped his hands again. "Sage Art: Water Release – Water Shockwave!"
The sea roared. A massive spiraling torrent surged upward, sweeping into the enemy ranks.
Two consecutive large-scale Water Release jutsu devastated the navy's forces, wiping out over half their strength. The harbor itself lay in ruins under the onslaught.
Arima felt no sympathy. Pirates were, in his eyes, nothing more than raiders and murderers. They deserved no mercy.
Chinjao, however, was beside himself. Seeing his men slaughtered, his heart tore in agony. His composure shattered; rage consumed him.
"I'll kill you!" he bellowed, charging straight at Arima, his lieutenants close behind. Their hatred for him had already reached the point of no return.
Glancing at the sky, Arima thought, Time to end this farce.
He brought his hands together once more, and in the next moment, a towering wooden giant, hundreds of meters tall, erupted from the ground. Arima stood proudly atop its head.
Chinjao only sneered. To him, such a massive wooden figure was nothing but a target.
But his arrogance cost him dearly.
"Sage Art: Wood Release – Armed Wooden Golem!" Arima's voice rang from above as the colossus loomed.
Chinjao roared, driving his Eight Impact Fist into the golem's leg, while his lieutenants struck at other points.
But in an instant, black Armament Haki coated the wooden giant, making it utterly impervious. Their blows landed uselessly.
With Observation Haki guiding him, Arima controlled the golem with precision. One by one, the lieutenants were swatted aside, hurled into the sea like ragdolls.
When the giant's fist slammed into Chinjao, his mind went blank. Bones shifted out of place, organs seared with pain. Blood gushed from his throat, filling his mouth with iron and bitterness.
Since taking command of the Happo Navy, he had never suffered such grievous injury.
The other lieutenants fared no better, each left battered, broken, and defeated.
"It seems this jutsu has grown nearly twice as strong as before," Arima remarked, leaping down from the golem's head.
He split into several shadow clones, plucking the wounded navy leaders from the sea.
Standing before the battered Chinjao, he asked coldly, "So, do you still want my head?"
Chinjao coughed violently, blood dribbling down his chin. "Y-you… just what are you…?"
"Third Hokage of Konoha," Arima replied with calm finality.
