Chapter 169 - Chapter 169: Sailor Moon

After returning from the banquet, Yuna washed up and fell into a deep sleep, the gift from Shanks still resting by her pillow.

The next morning, as soon as her eyes fluttered open, she eagerly tore into the elegant gift box. Inside was, unmistakably, a Devil Fruit.

Yuna had seen plenty of Devil Fruits before, relics her father had left behind before his long slumber.

Once, she nearly ate one, only to be stopped by her mother just in time. After that, Tsunade strictly forbade her from touching them, leaving Yuna with a twinge of disappointment.

It wasn't until Kushina explained the reasons that Yuna understood her mother's concern.

Whether it was her mother's Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Aunt Kushina's Float-Float Fruit, Aunt Robin's Flower-Flower Fruit, or Aunt Nono's Heal-Heal Fruit, Yuna envied them all from the bottom of her heart.

Even her friend Sugar had her own fruit power, effortlessly turning giant beasts into cute toys.

Things were different now. Her father was awake, so she could finally eat a Devil Fruit and gain incredible abilities.

Thrilled at the thought, Yuna clutched the fruit and dashed to her parents' room.

"Father, Mother, look! This is the gift Uncle Shanks gave me!"

Beaming, Yuna held out the strange purple pineapple to them.

Arima already knew what was in the box but played along, feigning surprise. "Oh? Shanks gave you such a valuable gift! Let me see what kind of fruit this is."

He took the fruit, quickly receiving its details from his system.

"Hm? This fruit, huh? It's a good one, pretty similar to my technique."

Yuna's curiosity spiked. "Father, don't tease! What's its power?"

"Try it and find out for yourself!"

Arima's mysterious grin only fueled Yuna's excitement.

Tsunade got up and headed to the kitchen. Knowing how awful Devil Fruits tasted, she went to fetch some juice for Yuna to rinse her mouth.

Yuna stared at the odd fruit, imagining the amazing powers she'd soon wield. Steeling herself, she took a big bite.

Instantly, a foul stench hit her like a punch, her face scrunching up. It was as if she'd eaten a handful of rancid bugs.

She spat out the pulp, but her tongue went numb, and tears and snot threatened to spill. Every pore seemed to ooze the fruit's rank odor.

Just then, Tsunade returned with a large bottle of juice.

Glug, glug, glug…

Yuna grabbed it and chugged it down, her belly rounding out.

Arima stepped forward, using chakra to help her digest the juice, and asked, "So, Yuna, you happy with this power?"

Yuna focused, her small hand instinctively forming an orchid gesture. With a dramatic flourish, she declared, "In the name of the moon, I'll punish you!"

A beam of light shot from her fingertip, hitting Arima.

Under the Slow-Slow Fruit's effect, Arima's movements slowed to a crawl, like an ant trudging through molasses. His smile froze, turning him into a living statue.

Yuna had never seen her father like this and found it hilarious. She grabbed a brush, and with Tsunade's help, they doodled on his face, left stroke, right stroke.

About thirty seconds later, Arima snapped back to normal.

Yuna quickly snuggled into his arms, cooing, "Father, it's my first time using the Slow-Slow Fruit. Don't be mad at us, okay?"

Tsunade handed him a damp towel with a grin.

Arima took it, wiping the ink off his face, and lightly tapped Yuna's head. "That's no excuse for you two drawing little turtles on my face!"

He leaned down to scold her, but her pitiful expression melted his resolve.

Arima sighed, half-laughing, half-exasperated. "Alright, you little brat, acting like I'm the one bullying you! …No more of this, and no testing it on others on the ship!"

Yuna stuck out her tongue, made a silly face, and scampered off to the deck.

Watching her go, Arima sighed. "It's a great ability, but on Yuna? I'm not sure what kind of chaos she'll stir up."

Tsunade glanced out the window, where Yuna was teasing her brother Arata. "We need to find a fruit for Arata that can counter hers. At least someone can keep her in check."

Arima thought for a moment and decided Kizaru's Glint-Glint Fruit would be perfect. He even had plans for Akainu's Magma-Magma Fruit.

On the deck, Yuna was having a blast.

She'd never been able to beat her brother before, but with the Slow-Slow Fruit, she could easily subdue him, relishing the chance to play the big sister.

Just as she was about to target someone else, she felt herself lifted off the ground like a kitten.

Turning, she saw her mother. Yuna quickly released Arata from her fruit's effect.

Seeing Arata unbothered by his sister's antics warmed Arima's heart.

He looked at Yuna sternly. "Yuna, I hope this is the last time."

Yuna, unused to such seriousness from her father, realized he cared deeply about her pranks on family.

She nodded rapidly, like a chick pecking at rice, promising not to mess around anymore.

Arima nodded, then turned to his son. "That was Shanks' gift to her yesterday. I've already picked out a fruit for you, one fitting for a big brother."

Yuna pouted. "Father's playing favorites! Do fruits come in 'brother' and 'sister' versions?"

Arima pinched her scrunched-up nose. "When your mother and I aren't around, Arata's got to look after you. Without a fruit to counter yours, you'd turn the world upside down!"

Yuna mumbled, "I can take care of Brother too…"

Arima scooped her up, asking, "Yuna, are you really confident you can do that?"

"Of course! I, Yuna, will become Hokage someday!" she declared, clenching her tiny fists.

"Hokage, huh? Our Yuna's got big dreams! Keep at it!" Arima's heart swelled at her ambition.

He looked at her seriously. "So, future Hokage, want to learn the Six Powers with me tomorrow?"

"Can I really learn the Six Powers, Father?"

It was the first time her father had acknowledged her like this. As the daughter of Konoha's Third Hokage and a New World Emperor, she was determined to prove her worth.

Arima nodded warmly.

Yuna's face lit up, and she showered his cheeks with kisses.

Arima turned to his son. "Since you've nearly mastered the Six Powers, starting tomorrow, we'll train your Haki."

A rare spark of joy crossed Arata's face.

Arima thought to himself, 'Arata's too reserved, always playing the stern big brother around Yuna. He needs a lively companion, like Jiraiya was.'
