Under Arima's supervision, the two children quickly immersed themselves in arduous training.
Whether it was mastering the Six Powers or Haki, both required tremendous effort.
The training was monotonous and exhausting, and with Yuna's naturally restless temperament, she could hardly match her brother's unwavering focus.
Still, Yuna knew she had made bold claims in front of her father. Her pride and sense of honor pushed her forward, keeping her from giving up.
At first, Arima couldn't bear to let his daughter shoulder such a heavy burden so young.
But when he saw that determined light flicker across her small face, he understood, this was a weight Yuna needed to bear herself.
As for Arata, his progress was even more satisfying. In just a few short days, he had already reached the threshold of mastering Armament Haki.
The two of them trained tirelessly on deck every day, and the rest of the family naturally took notice.
One day, while playing with Yuna, Sugar tilted her head curiously and asked, "Yuna, you already have a Devil Fruit power, so why are you training so hard?"
Yuna thought about it for quite a while before replying, "Sugar, what if Father falls asleep again someday? What will we do then?!
That's why I must become strong enough to protect everyone, just like Father!"
Of course, the others on the ship soon heard those words.
Mito sighed softly.
"That's just how the Konoha Senju are. Even as children, they always think so far ahead. Hashirama was the same way… then Arima followed after him, and now it's their turn."
Arima smiled. "Grandma, isn't that exactly the hallmark of our clan? Actually, the Uchiha are like that too, they just tend to take things to the extreme."
"You're not wrong," Mito chuckled.
"Madara once fought to build Konoha too, but look how that ended, he came back raising chaos with the Nine-Tails!
Hashirama sealed it away, and Madara had to use Izanagi just to fake his death and escape."
Mito's eyes drifted into memory at the mention of that great battle.
Arima said softly, "If Grandfather could see Yuna now, he'd definitely be proud."
Mito laughed brightly. "Don't forget about Tsunade! When that happens, your family will have three generations of gamblers under one roof, you'll have your hands full!"
"What are you forgetting about me?"
As she spoke, Tsunade walked in from outside. Hearing her mother's words had stirred something in her heart, and she came looking for Arima to talk.
Arima smiled. "Grandma and I were just saying, if Grandfather had raised Yuna himself, she'd probably end up another little gambler!"
Tsunade's cheeks flushed for a moment, but she quickly recovered, lifting her chin proudly.
"Arima, I learned gambling all on my own! And besides, my gambling isn't just luck, I can predict fortune and misfortune! It's practically a Devil Fruit ability!"
"Yes, yes, your gambling skills are unmatched," Arima teased.
"But tell me, Tsunade, back at the casino in the Sabaody Archipelago, why didn't you use Observation Haki to sense the dice numbers?"
"That would've been cheating! That goes against Grandpa's rules of gambling!"
"So you do admit he taught you! With his kind of luck, he could barely beat you half the time. And if we threw Yuna into the mix, hehe, maybe she'd even…"
Seeing Tsunade's eyes narrow dangerously, Arima immediately swallowed the rest of his words.
Tsunade gave a sweet but sharp laugh. "Arima, maybe she'd even what?"
Arima quickly turned toward his grandmother for help, but Mito just smiled, shook her head, and silently left the room, closing the door behind her for good measure.
"A-ah, well, breakfast last night was actually quite good! I'll go ask Mother to make more of it today!" Arima stammered.
And with that, he vanished from sight using Kamui.
Moments later, Tsunade couldn't hold it in and burst into laughter. "Arima is such an idiot, since when do we have breakfast at night?"
At dinner that evening, Tsunade "just happened" to bring the story up again, making everyone roar with laughter. It became one of Arima's rare moments of embarrassment.
Days passed, and the siblings' progress continued steadily.
Then one day, the Konoha Senju ship entered a new stretch of sea. Their supplies were running low, and they needed to dock at the nearest island to resupply.
"Kushina, which island is closest to us right now?"
As the one in charge of logistics, Tsunade immediately went to her.
Kushina shook her head helplessly. "The storm blew us into this sea. I have no idea where we are anymore!"
Tsunade couldn't resist teasing. "You call yourself a navigator? That's half-baked at best!"
"Come on, Tsunade-nee! Your Observation Haki is the strongest, help me check if there are any ships or islands nearby!"
Kushina didn't argue back this time and instead gave in good-naturedly.
Tsunade arched an eyebrow, intrigued. "Well, well! Since when did you become so agreeable? I was expecting another argument!"
Laughing, she rose and left the control room to scout the open sea.
Once she was gone, Kushina grinned mischievously to herself. "Guess Arima was right, Tsunade-nee can't resist a soft touch! Heehee, life's about to get a lot easier.."
Since Arima's awakening, Kushina's personality had mellowed considerably, something Tsunade still found hard to get used to.
Not long after Tsunade left, she returned with a young girl of about seventeen or eighteen, orange-haired, soaked from head to toe, and wearing an expression of terror, as if she had just survived a shipwreck.
Tsunade brought her to her quarters, gave her dry clothes, and helped her change.
Seeing how well the girl filled them out, Tsunade couldn't help but think, 'This girl's got quite the figure for her age, she's practically catching up to me!'
Once the girl was dressed, Tsunade led her back to the deck to introduce her to the crew.
"My name's Nojiko," the girl said gratefully. "Thank you for saving me. I just survived a shipwreck…"
"You're lying."
The gentle but firm voice cut her off. Everyone turned toward Violet, who was watching the newcomer intently.
"I'm the Glare-Glare Fruit user," Violet said evenly. "I can see through lies straight to the heart."
The girl froze in shock, instinctively crossing her arms over her chest.
The crew's warmth quickly vanished, replaced by cautious scrutiny.
Konoha Senju ship was a target for countless eyes, and it wasn't the first time someone had tried to infiltrate their ranks.
They had dealt with such situations before, usually by leaving the impostor a lifeboat and a few days' worth of food before sending them off to drift at sea.
Seeing their reaction, the girl hurriedly blurted out, "My name's Nami, I'm a navigator!"
Violet gave a small nod.
Tsunade picked up the receiver and called into the control room. "Kushina, I just rescued a navigator. Come ask her about this area."
A moment later, Kushina leapt out the window of the control room, landing lightly before Nami.
"You're a navigator?" she asked, eyes narrowing.
Kushina couldn't believe such a coincidence, that right when they most needed help, a navigator would conveniently appear.
"Y-yes! I am a navigator! My biggest dream is to chart a map of the entire world!"
Nami answered quickly. Under the gaze of the Glare-Glare Fruit user, she dared not lie again, choosing only to reveal harmless bits of truth.
"Then do you know how to reach the nearest island?"
"I, I do! I mean, no! I… I don't, don't know!"
Kushina's question left her completely tongue-tied. Clearly, this woman was hiding something, and the crew's suspicion deepened further.
