Wow. That proposal from Odin was downright laughable.
Alex Ray muttered inwardly, his gaze carrying a blend of disdain and exasperation at the title of Regent of Asgard.
To him, this wasn't just a shiny medal of honor—it was a cursed crown, a vortex of divine politics that would suck him into unending chaos.
After all, the history of Asgard read like a galactic disaster log. From the dark elves' invasion, to the wrath of Hela—the goddess of death—and finally, Thanos dealing the kingdom a catastrophic blow. Every chapter ended in near-annihilation.
The final straw? Asgard's planet was destroyed, and its survivors were forced to migrate to Earth.
Asgard was a burning pit of bad luck. Anyone who dove in would likely die screaming.
Joining them would mean Alex Ray was voluntarily stacking enemies against himself.
Odin's promise sounded generous: full power over the throne, even authority to strip it from Thor.
But Alex saw through it. Odin was betting that he wouldn't actually take the throne.
So instead of offering power, he was being asked to babysit a thunder god and absorb divine-level responsibility—for free.
"I'll help Thor however I can," Alex said politely, voice firm. "But I don't need any titles."
With that, he turned to Loki, the God of Stories, and added, "I won't intrude on your family reunion. I'm heading back to Hell's Kitchen. Don't worry—I'll handle what you asked me to."
He turned and walked away, stepping through the mists of the End of Time.
Odin hadn't expected such a direct refusal. The title of Asgard's regent had never been granted before. If Alex had accepted, he would've stood shoulder to shoulder with kings.
Loki wasn't surprised. With Alex's power, he could build a new Asgard from scratch if he wanted.
After the reunion, Loki comforted his family and chatted with Thor for a while.
Eventually, only the two Lokis remained. They sat together in private for a long conversation—one that seemed to recharge Loki's spirit.
Alex, meanwhile, gained something else: the favor and respect of both Lokis.
. . . . . . . .
Time flew like a blade slicing through smoke.
Six months passed, and the world changed drastically.
Earth – The Illuminati Headquarters.
"I've finally mastered control of the Reality Stone," said Reed Richards—the ever-evolving genius of the Fantastic Four. In less than a year, he had learned to harness the unimaginable power of the gem.
The Soul Stone, however, had a different fate. It was taken by Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans—at an enormous cost.
Once known for his stoicism, Black Bolt had changed. The power of the Soul Stone inflated his pride and ambition.
He led the Inhumans on a campaign of expansion, carving out his own kingdom.
This, at first, had been a cooperative arrangement with S.H.I.E.L.D., but Black Bolt's increasing arrogance triggered suspicion and resentment from other global powers.
Especially when he clashed with mutants.
What followed was chaos.
A mysterious woman appeared out of nowhere, claiming to be Magneto's sister. She obliterated Black Bolt and his entire Inhuman Kingdom with overwhelming power.
The Soul Stone passed into the hands of the infamous Hell's Kitchen organization.
And every time Reed thought about it, he wanted to strangle Black Bolt's ghost. If he had to die, fine—but why didn't he just surrender the stone first?
The Reality Stone also had its twists.
Originally in Susan Storm's possession, it ended up with Reed after some careful manipulation and persuasion.
Over the last six months, Reed kept a low profile. He didn't flaunt the stone's power, knowing full well the dangers of this new world.
His fortunes turned when he met another version of himself—a Reed Richards from a parallel universe.
Their encounter wasn't chance. It was destiny.
And with this new ally's help, Reed was welcomed into the Council of Reeds Reserve—a gathering of multiversal minds dedicated to understanding the cosmic order.
With their guidance, he learned secrets that bent the laws of science.
And now, he had a plan.
If given enough time, Reed believed he could use the Reality Stone to completely destroy Hell's Kitchen—and its enigmatic leader, Alex Ray.
If he could succeed, he'd earn full membership into the Council of Reeds and become a central figure in shaping the fate of the universe.
The Illuminati, meanwhile, had only grown stronger.
After the rise and fall of the Inhumans, Wakanda opened its borders. Atlantis revealed itself to the world.
Even the mutants—those once loyal to Alex—had begun forming their own nation in Sokovia, under the leadership of Baron Zemo.
The idea of a mutant nation initially met with heavy resistance. But with help from S.H.I.E.L.D., the foundation was laid.
Reed would never admit it out loud, but he knew the U.S. government only agreed because of Hell's Kitchen's overwhelming influence.
But for some reason, Alex Ray had vanished.
No sightings, no statements, no attacks.
For six months, the world hadn't heard his name—as if he were intentionally lying low.
Yet, despite Alex's absence, the influence of Hell's Kitchen continued to grow.
Suddenly, the door to the Illuminati conference room burst open.
In strode Pierce, former high-ranking director of the Snake Shield Bureau. He hadn't been seen in months.
At his side were two unknown figures.
The moment they entered, the temperature in the room seemed to shift.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Pierce announced with a smile, "Allow me to introduce two honored guests."
He gestured to the first man—tall, stoic, exuding divine weight.
"This is Gilgamesh, of the Eternals. One of their strongest."
Then he turned to the second figure—a man in a pristine white research suit, muscles taut beneath the fabric, intellect radiating from his eyes.
"And this," Pierce said, his voice full of pride, "is Hydra's most brilliant scientist. Our strongest hero."
"Golden Sentinel Kang."
