On the other end of the communicator, Steven Stone (Daigo) responded solemnly, then hung up.
"Steven, what's the situation?"
Drake, the Dragon-type Elite Four member, asked Steven while chewing on his pipe.
"Wallace has been defeated. Groudon and Kyogre are being held back by Winona and a guy named Ace. We need to speed up."
Steven frowned deeply, finding the current situation extremely difficult to handle.
"We absolutely must use the power of the Legendary Giants to lock down the battlefield."
Glacia spoke calmly. "But we lack the key."
Steven rubbed his temples and closed his eyes. "Sidney, Glacia, Drake, the three of you go and wait in position. Phoebe, go check on the progress of the tablet translation. I must head to Sootopolis City immediately to temporarily suppress the situation."
"Alright."
The four Hoenn Elite Four members nodded and immediately sprang into action.
Steven quickly mounted his Metagross and rushed toward Sootopolis City.
As Steven hurried to Sootopolis City, Winona was also defeated by Groudon, knocked unconscious, and carried out of the battlefield by Sapphire's Tropius.
In the current battlefield, Groudon and Kyogre were fighting once again. Ace, meanwhile, was kneeling half-collapsed on the head of the Tao Dragon, apparently pushed to his limit.
That wasn't the main point. The true focus should be on the heads of Groudon and Kyogre, where Maxie and Archie now looked like desiccated corpses.
Groudon and Kyogre had absorbed a vast amount of life force; they had practically drained Maxie's and Archie's life energy dry.
If the Red and Blue Orbs weren't still inside their bodies, barely keeping them alive, they would have already been utterly drained and died from exhaustion by Groudon and Kyogre.
Crobat carried Ace away from the Tao Dragon's head, back to the edge of the battlefield.
Ace landed on the ground, panting, and looked at Ruby and Sapphire, who were tending to Wallace and Winona. "You two, take them and leave first."
"Ace-nii, let me help you."
Ruby stepped forward. Although he currently hated Pokémon battles, the situation had escalated beyond a matter of preference.
He had to step up and contribute his part!
"Don't you dare mess things up!"
Ace slapped the back of Ruby's head, making him stumble.
Then, under Ruby's resentful gaze, Ace explained, "I still have trump cards I haven't used yet, but if I go all out, it's bound to affect you here, which is why I want you to leave first. Without any worries about friendly fire, I can suppress Groudon and Kyogre as much as possible."
After hearing Ace's words, Ruby and Sapphire looked conflicted but could only sigh helplessly. They carried their respective mentors and hurried towards the outskirts of Sootopolis City.
"Whew, they're finally gone."
Watching Ruby and Sapphire leave, Ace exhaled, his expression relaxing.
Flexing his joints, Ace's face grew slightly grim. "In the end, I couldn't capture them. The number of unpredictable factors is still too high."
With that, Crobat carried Ace back to the Tao Dragon's head. Meanwhile, Groudon and Kyogre had gradually stopped fighting, occasionally glancing at the Tao Dragon, which was merely observing the battle.
"So, you absorbed a bunch of life force and think you're powerful again, huh?"
Ace stood on the Tao Dragon's head, arms crossed, his trench coat flapping loudly in the wind.
Ace sneered, "Don't forget how you two were subdued by me!"
Then, Ace pulled a gas hose from his waist pouch and bit down on the respirator at the end of the hose.
"Go all out, Tao Dragon. Show those two what true power is."
Ace's muffled voice sounded. The Tao Dragon roared, and a massive energy wave instantly swelled across its entire body. An energy layer immediately enveloped both the Tao Dragon and Ace.
In the next moment, the Tao Dragon charged out. Before Groudon and Kyogre could even react, its body spun sharply.
"Smack! Smack!"
Its dragon tail whipped out like a lash, fiercely striking both Groudon and Kyogre, sending them flying.
Groudon and Kyogre instantly roared in fury. Stone Edge and Hydro Pump simultaneously shot toward the Tao Dragon.
"BOOM!"
The Tao Dragon raised its claws, unleashing Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt. They directly impacted the Stone Edge and Hydro Pump, instantly overwhelming them with terrifying suppressive force and surging toward Groudon and Kyogre.
The attacks struck. Groudon and Kyogre cried out in pain, a sharp agony radiating from the hit areas. They were confused: Why was the damage so high?
"Long'ao Dan!"
Ace's voice came through the energy layer. The eager Blissey smiled.
"Dong!"
Blissey vanished from its spot, followed by a dull thud. The ground where Blissey had been standing instantly shattered.
Kyogre felt a small object flash past its eyes, followed by a massive force from its lower jaw.
Then, Kyogre felt its body lift. Its massive form was launched into the air, rising over ten meters before slowly descending, slamming heavily into the sea surface.
Kyogre was dazed, barely registering the sharp pain in its jaw.
Slightly dizzy, it looked toward Groudon and saw the Continent Pokémon contorted in a 'C' shape, sprawled on a rock wall in Sootopolis City. Blissey was smiling, pulling its tiny fist out from Groudon's abdomen.
Who am I? Where am I?
Two punches were enough to utterly bewilder both Groudon and Kyogre.
Looking back at the slightly ethereal figure on the Tao Dragon's head, their previously inflated confidence, fueled by the absorbed life force, completely deflated.
Not only were Groudon and Kyogre stunned, but even the Tao Dragon under Ace's feet couldn't help but shiver as it looked at the small Blissey.
The Tao Dragon found it hard to imagine what kind of terrifying individual could have trained such a monstrous Pokémon.
Recalling its own capture by Ace, the Tao Dragon suddenly felt a little thankful.
If Ace had sent out that pink devil instead of Gardevoir for their battle, the Tao Dragon felt it probably wouldn't have lasted three punches against her.
Two waves of Healing Pulse shot onto Groudon and Kyogre. The two Pokémon's injuries recovered, and Ace's voice traveled through the energy layer: "Do you want to continue?"
Groudon and Kyogre simultaneously glanced at Blissey, then simultaneously shivered.
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
Following this, the two Pokémon roared madly at each other, completely ignoring Blissey and charging into battle against one another.
Groudon and Kyogre swore they would rather fight each other for three hundred rounds than face that pink devil again!
It's too humiliating!
