Chapter 368 - Chapter 368: Where Is the Suitable Body!

Let's rewind a few minutes and check in on Peter's situation.

Inside the Web Base, Yellowjacket, who was overseeing Roderick, was trying to interrogate the uncooperative man—they already knew Roderick had voluntarily joined the Goblin Army, so he likely knew more.

Meanwhile, they had invited Jane Foster, Thor's girlfriend (presumably), a nurse from Manhattan, who was helping Peter treat his wounds, mainly the burns on the back of his hand sustained while trying to stop the Goblin Army.

As for Venom, he lay in a tank, leisurely eating the chocolate thrown in by Banner. Although he looked energetic, the high temperature had inflicted considerable damage on him.

"Did you hear? Your Goblin King has been apprehended." Yellowjacket, having learned from the Captain's communication that Hamilton had been arrested, stood before the tightly bound Roderick. Roderick, his brother, and his butler were all under arrest and were currently undergoing Yellowjacket's completely unthreatening interrogation.

Roderick only wanted to burst out laughing upon hearing this.

"Sorry, sorry, I've met Barton Hamilton, and I'm quite certain he is not the Goblin King. There's someone behind him. Although, I don't know who."

Roderick was being deliberately difficult. He knew the Avengers were after the Goblin King, but he himself didn't know the Goblin King's identity.

Banner, however, ignored the back-and-forth. He was analyzing and examining Venom's condition, along with Peter's blood samples. The conclusion wasn't good, so after organizing his thoughts, he approached Peter: "Uh, Spider-Man, I recommend you avoid using the symbiote in combat for the next few days."

"Are you talking about the emotional control, Dr. Banner? I can manage it..."

"Not just emotions, though it is related. Separating from the symbiote for a while will help you restore your normal emotional state," Banner said helplessly. "But the bigger problem is that the symbiote has suffered severe damage and needs sufficient time to repair. This recovery process might take over a week before your symbiote's molecules return to their past state."

Peter glanced at Venom in the tank and nodded.

It was exactly at this moment that the Green Goblin's avatar flashed onto the computer screen. A green goblin head quickly appeared and began to speak: [Hello, friends. I am the Green Goblin. I have now taken control of the entire lab...]

Peter stood up, pulled the lever on the wall, instantly cutting off the network and power, then forced a restart. As the lights flickered back on, Peter explained to the confused group: "This is... equipment prepared to isolate the network in case of Ultron."

"I was just curious why you cut the power completely."

"The Green Goblin taking control of the lab means the Goblin King can directly access the Osborn Tech network." Peter looked at Banner, not fully voicing his conclusion, but to him, the identity of the Green Goblin was already obvious:

Norman Osborn.

Norman held all the permissions for the entire lab. Could anyone else do this? Not even Harry. The only ones with permission were himself and Norman.

But this time, Peter was, for once, wrong.

"Hey, guys, I'm here to deliver a package. Can you open the door?"

Tony's voice sounded from outside the door. Peter extended his hand, and his Spider-Sense didn't trigger, so he opened the door and saw Tony in his armor, but with his faceplate retracted: "Ah, great, you're all here. Let me explain the situation."

Tony quickly explained the mastermind: the Green Goblin was indeed Norman, but not entirely Norman. There was now a Green Goblin second personality fighting for control of Norman's body, and also an AI Green Goblin, which was hacking into global networks to eliminate any enemies who might pose a threat to him.

Peter remained silent for a moment, then posed a question.

"If the Green Goblin's goal is to remain hidden, why set up an entire Goblin Army? Wouldn't it be better to just let Hamilton cause trouble alone? There's no need for this over-the-top action."

Tony was taken aback; he hadn't considered that. After thinking it over carefully, Tony suddenly had an idea: "That guy is an arrogant narcissist who loves to control others' minds, and besides, he has some mental issues. So, he needs a grand performance to announce his existence. Yes! The stronger his sense of presence, the more magnificent his curtain call, the more easily he can make a clean getaway..."

Tony stopped, realizing that the current situation was exactly a massive performance.

"The Green Goblin's objective hasn't changed; he still aims to hide himself. All of this—the mass deployment of those Goblins he modified, his struggle for Norman's body—is likely part of the grand performance," Tony realized. "If we stop Norman Osborn, eliminate the entire Goblin Army, and then appear to have scrubbed its traces from the network, no one will be able to prove that it wasn't destroyed."

"He grants the Avengers a great victory while making a clean escape in the shadows to plot new conspiracies?" Banner nodded. "So... you need the big guy?"

"Yes, we need a big guy who won't be burned to charcoal by a few thousand degrees of heat."

After hearing Tony's full explanation, Peter looked at Tony: "Mr. Stark, if the Green Goblin AI wants to completely erase all its traces from the internet, and then hide, how would it do that?"

"How to do it... It would certainly clear all data, then hide itself in some host hardware, waiting for the day it can make a comeback."

"What if there's a detection program in place?"

Tony and Banner exchanged glances and began to consider. Finally, they came up with a plausible answer, with Banner speaking first: "Then it would find a host that can move freely without needing to re-enter the network, like a certain robot, or perhaps... a human brain."

A human brain. The true Green Goblin, Norman's second personality, was seizing Norman's body. So, if the Artificial Intelligence Green Goblin had to sacrifice both the Norman Green Goblin and all its AI data to acquire a physical form, whom would it choose?

Peter stood up. Banner quickly tried to stop him: "Your symbiote hasn't recovered yet."

"I'm not Venom-Man; I'm Spider-Man."

As Peter spoke, he took the pure black suit given to him by Felicia off a mannequin in the Web Base: "I know what the Green Goblin is planning. I'm going to stop him."
