Chapter 597 - Chapter 597: Revi and Elemence

"So what you're telling me is that the white dragon Tephe that is currently visiting our world is not the same one that you became the goddaughter of?" Elemence asked.

"She is, it's just her personality is different," Revi replied.

"Because by saving us during the Siege of Fenix Nest, Tephe and Adam altered history as was foreseen in a completely different prophecy foretold by Oracle Andromeda on the day of Tephe's birth than the one we know?"

"Exactly, haven't you always thought her prophecy was kind of strange and lacking?" Revi asked, "Also, don't forget that by changing history, he saved our race from extinction."

"Alright, but then if he streamed all this as you claim he did, why doesn't anyone remember it?"

"Because when they returned to their original timeline, they did so a split second after they left, because of that, the stream never actually took place for all those that had watched it."

"Ugh, time travel's a headache to understand," Elemence complained while rubbing her head.

"Tell me about it and that's only the first time he jumped back in time."

"Well, let's drop that topic for a moment before my head explodes," Elemence replied before asking with a smirk, "Is that why you insisted on being White Dragon Tephe's godmother? Because she was the one who helped save our race?"

"Yes, I needed to make sure that I had a way to reunite with Adam when he came to the known universe," Revi explained before adding, "Also, I wanted to watch over Tephe since she helped save our people and assisted me in killing the one who killed my father."

"You're telling me you did all that because you fell in love with him back then and yet you've also been keeping this a secret from me all this time?"

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't risk revealing the truth, as I had no idea how it would affect the timeline. I couldn't take the risk that it would prevent me from finally meeting him again," Revi apologised.

"Well, I guess I finally understand the true reason as to why you turned down all those suitors and carefully guarded your chastity for twelve lifetimes," Elemence replied with a sigh before adding with a teasing smirk, "Honestly, you really are the universe's ultimate celibate."

"Shut up," Revi retorted while pouting.

"Well, hopefully you can change that soon, honestly, you've been really missing out by not having sex," Elemence remarked.

"When do you ever find time to have sex? You've never told me about this?" Revi replied in surprise before adding, "I didn't even know you had a boyfriend."

"I don't, I just occasionally sleep with different people to release my built-up stress, there's no special meaning behind it," Elemence replied while shrugging before adding, "Also, I never told you because it would be uncool to talk about these things when you were obviously waiting for that someone special.

I just had no idea that you already knew who that someone was and that you had been waiting for them for so long."

"It seems we were both keeping secrets," Revi said with a smile.

"Seems so," Elemence replied with a smile of her own, which soon vanished as she asked in a serious tone, "But are you serious about this?"

"You mean loving Adam? Of course," Revi replied adamantly.

"I don't mean that," Elemence replied while rolling her eyes as she said, "Anyone could tell how much you love him, considering you waited twelve lifetimes for him.

No, what I'm talking about is taking him as your husband. You know what that would mean for the political structure in the Ashes Galaxy, right? Also, there is the fact that he's already dating Diva Lorelie and Diva Rowena's granddaughter."

"Actually, he's also recently started dating Diva Rowena herself," Revi admitted.

"Seriously?" Elemence asked in surprise before adding, "I thought Brood hated sharing their mates with another of their kind."

"Well, Stacey is only a quarter Brood, so perhaps she lacks the ability to feed," Revi replied.

"Makes sense," Elemence admitted.

"Also, I was already aware that I wouldn't be Adam's only wife in the future. Back then, Tephe told me that he was already dating Stacey and Lorelie, so I came to terms with that a long time ago."

"Ok, fine, but that doesn't change that this will significantly affect the political climate in our galaxy," Elemence replied.

"Actually, I've had a long time to consider this and study Adam and I don't think it will be as bad as you're thinking."

"What do you mean?"

"Well you're most likely concerned that Adam would make a bid for power after marrying me and that those who are not fully supportive of my rule would try to use him to overthrow me before putting someone they are supportive of in my place."

"That thought did come to mind."

"Well, Adam has no interest in personal gain, be it reputation or power, honestly, I find it quite annoying to be frank," Revi replied with an annoyed look.

"You find it annoying?" Elemence asked in surprise.

"Yes, how can I expect my people to accept someone unknown and without any major achievements?"

"Any major achievements? He saved our entire race; there is no bigger achievement," Elemence replied in confusion at how Revi could claim that.

"But the damn idiot is too humble to admit it," Revi complained.

Elemence sighed before saying, "Let's put how humble he is aside for a moment and discuss something more important."

"Which is!" Revi asked.

"First of all, you realise that if you take him as your husband, you won't be able to mate with him in your true form, right?" Elemence asked.

"Well, it's not like I know what I'm missing, so I don't see a problem in that."

"Fair point, though I expect you to change your opinion after you experience sex," Elemence said before adding," And then there is the matter of children.

As the empress, you have an obligation to produce an heir to the throne once you are married."

"I'm aware of that and I have every intention to do that."

"Good, but do you even know if our two species are compatible?" Elemence asked before adding, "As far as I'm aware, few of our species who have been successful in breeding with the humanoid races, it seems we are not compatible with the majority of them."

"If that's how things turn out, then so be it. While I will be disappointed that I won't be able to bear his children or have any of my own, there will be plenty of children from his other lovers for me to dote on," Revi replied.

"But none who can claim the throne, or what, do you plan to rule for eternity?" Elemence asked in exasperation.

"Well, I could always abdicate," Ravi suggested jokingly.

"To whom exactly, or are you really not bothered if the imperial family's lineage dies out?

"Of course I'm bothered about it," Revi snapped before adding angrily, "If my parents hadn't died to those fucking Herpolisk bastards, I would have had siblings."

"We never did find those responsible for the late empress's death," Elemence said in a sad tone before adding, "But at least you killed the one responsible for the late emperor's death."

Revi sat in silence for a moment as she remembered her parents before shaking her head and saying, "This topic is pointless and will only work to anger us both."

"You're right," Elemence said in agreement before asking, "To whom would you abdicate then and do you really think the people would agree? You led us out of that dark period and rebuilt our race into what it is today, the people won't just let you abdicate to just anyone."

"I could always abdicate to you," Revi suggested jokingly.

"Don't even kid about that, I hope to one day find myself a husband and have children of my own," Elemence replied while rolling her eyes.

"Ok, ok," Revi said with a smile before adding, "Also, it's not like I plan to give up my throne anytime soon and what we are discussing is only applicable if I can't bear Adam's child in the future."

After she said this, Revi fell into thought for a moment, after which she said, "But if that does come to pass, I suppose there is always Tevura."

Elemence was about to reject the idea when she stopped and considered it for a moment before saying, "That's plausible. The Janari race is well respected in the galaxy and have infact had more supreme speakers in the universal senate than any other. If Tevura was willing to birth your child as more phoenix than Janari, then it could very well replace you as empress in the future."

"As I said, this all is speculation for now, so please don't go discussing this with Tevura," Revi stated before adding in a tired tone, "She's a great friend, apart from how she always broaches the subject of bearing my child every time we meet."
