Loyal familiar of the Thearch might look like something that was very similar to the Devoted Knight of the Empress talent but that was actually not the case at all.
Both of the talents were completely different and had very different functions. And one of the biggest difference between the two was the fact that while Devoted Knight was limited to just a single individual, the loyal familiar was not.
There was obviously a limit but this limit was much higher. For every rank, the Thearch could have one more familiar and one extra was there as default.
As rank 0 was also considered to be a proper rank according to this talent, after reaching the maximum rank of 10, Weiss could ended up having a total of 12 familiars, all completely loyal to her.
And this talent's main function was to make the Thearch stronger. The familiars were there as a tool to boost the strength of the Thearch, which was completely opposite of the Devoted Knight talent.
