Three weeks later...
Clara paced impatiently in her front room, checking the watch on her wrist every time she reached one end. They should have been here at least an hour ago, she was sure of it. Were they late? Or just not coming? There was always the chance they'd landed on the wrong date; that was something that had happened before.
Thankfully there was a knock on the door and she dashed forward, pausing just before opening it. She took a moment to calm herself, to make it look like she wasn't waiting, and opened the door with an exasperated look on her face.
"You're late again." She commented and Danni rolled her eyes, stepping into the flat.
"I know." She replied shortly, as if she was annoyed at the fact, "But somebody just had to go see Elvis." She hugged Clara, who happily returned it. She was just glad they were both okay, but she couldn't let either of them know that. Part of having a life off the TARDIS meant that she was never sure if they were going to turn up the next Wednesday. She had total faith in them but, well, the universe wasn't that kind, was it?
"Admit it, you enjoyed meeting the King." The Doctor replied, sliding into the flat still sporting large sunglasses. Clara let go of Danni and, in one fluid motion, snatched them off his face, chucking them over her shoulder and onto her sofa. He pouted, "Oi, they were cool!"
"No they weren't, sweetie." Danni replied with a cheeky smile. He took a step towards her, "But seeing Elvis was." He reached out and took her hand, pulling her close.
"Didn't I tell you I could get him to sing to you?" He told her smugly and she nodded, brown eyes shining happily behind her glasses. She turned her head to look at Clara and the teacher couldn't help but smile along with her. Her happiness was always so contagious.
"Pulled me on the stage and everything. It almost caused a riot." Danni told her excitedly and the Doctor wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her attention back to him again.
"That was just you." He replied cheesily. Both Danni and Clara rolled their eyes but Danni did blush, "Take my hand, take my whole life too." He sung, running his hand down her arm to link their fingers together.
"Cause I can't help falling in love with you." She finished as they both began swaying. Clara watched them for a moment, both insanely jealous and extremely happy to see them so besotted with each other, before walking out the door. She gave the Doctor a smack on the arm for good measure before stepping into the hallway outside.
"Alien planet, now." She demanded and the Doctor nodded.
"Of course, you're the boss." He replied.
"Yes, yes I am." She agreed. The Doctor chuckled, giving Danni a quick brush against her lips before letting her go. She immediately ran to Clara's side, linking their arms together. The Doctor pulled the door closed and soniced the lock. She'd have to ask if that would do any damage, she wanted her security deposit back if she ever moved out.
"We're going skiing!" Danni exclaimed happily and Clara looked over the blonde's head to shoot the Doctor a slightly dubious look. He was taking her somewhere she could fall down the side of a mountain?
"Apparently the Face of Boe put the idea in her head." The Doctor explained and Clara's mouth fell into a small 'o' of comprehension. They were only going so the Doctor could show up Jack. Nothing ever changed.
They headed down the stairs of the old building, Clara smiling at the architecture that came with living in such an old building. She'd originally looked into a place called the Powell Estate, but Danni had told her that this would be a better place to live. She had to agree, it was wonderful, and now she knew what Danni didn't want her there. Because of Rose, a young woman Clara could see if she focused incredibly hard, and she was glad she hadn't lived somewhere that would bring up those memories for either of them.
"How's the school?" Danni asked, sounding genuinely interested, "Kids still all brats?"
Clara nodded with a bit of a laugh; she was sure she'd called them a 'challenge', but she didn't exactly disagree with Danni's description either, "All of them. However, collectively, they seem to be becoming less bratty."
"That's good!" Danni told her, "Soon you'll be their favourite teacher, I just know it."
"Oh, I hope not." She laughed as the Doctor joined them on the other side. Clara kept a close eye on him, watching as he took hold of Danni's hand once again. She knew he was jealous because he saw he as an actual threat on his marriage, and it was brilliant to play with. She pulled Danni closer, making him have to stretch his arm out slightly if he was going to keep hold of his wife, "I want to be the teacher they're too terrified to act out with." Danni giggled, letting her go to open the TARDIS door for her friend.
"Well, that's not going to be too hard." Danni replied, "The whole universe is scared of Clara Oswald, I'm sure a room full of teenagers will be almost be as easy."

Two years later...
Danni's phone rang again, the starting bars to 'The Time Warp' blaring from the speakers. It was the third time it had gone off, and the other times they'd both ignored it. It was hard to, though, when someone incessantly rang and the Doctor pressed his forehead against Danni's, panting lightly as they both paused.
"Who could possibly be ringing you?" He asked with a bite in his tone, terribly annoyed that someone was trying to interrupt them. Danni reached out to her left, scrambling for her phone off the bedside table while not moving from underneath him.
"It's Clara." She told him, recognising the ring tone she'd put on for their companion, "I told you we were late. I bet we've missed a week."
"Then she can wait a bit longer." He insisted but Danni shook her head, holding the phone to her ear as she answered it. The Doctor's head hung, closing his eyes as he buried his head into her shoulder. Did Clara realise how long it had been since he'd held his wife? Two days was too long, they had to get better at escaping the aliens.
"Hi sweetie." Danni greeted, trying to catch her breath without Clara noticing, "Are we late?"
"No you've only been gone a few day- are you okay?" Clara asked, obviously hearing her panting breaths, and Danni nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What's wrong?"
"I need to go see Charles Dickens." She declared, "Can you take me?" Danni's brows furrowed as the Doctor decided he wasn't waiting for Clara. He started kissing her neck and Danni batted at him slightly.
"Dickens?" She asked, "Why Dickens?"
"It's a school-wide thing. We're studying different parts of his life in relevant classes. I want to be better than everyone else." Danni gasped as she felt the Doctor's teeth scrape across her skin, "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine." She promised, pulling the phone away. She wasn't sure where the mouthpiece was on it, so she covered the front of it with her hand, "Theta, stop it." She scolded. He looked up, a smirk on his face.
"You don't mean that." He replied smugly before going back to kissing her. She tried to force her grin away, tried to act annoyed but she just couldn't stop it breaking out on her face.
"What's going on?" Clara asked suspiciously, "Are you two somewhere fun without me? You know that's not allowed."
"Clara, we can take you-" she gasped as the Doctor's hand ran down her side, grasping at her hip, "Stop it!" She half-laughed, meeting the Doctor's eyes before biting her lip. His eyes burnt down into hers.
"Oh my god!" Clara exclaimed, finally working out what was so wrong about the conversation, "Why the hell did you even answer the phone?"
"You kept ringing!" Danni exclaimed in her own defence, "We'll take you to see Dickens."
"No you won't!" Clara firmly told her, "You will never take me to see Dickens and we're never talking about this again."
"But Clara..." The Doctor tore the phone from Danni's hand, holding it up to his own ear.
"Clara, this has been wonderful. We'll see you on Wednesday." And with that, he chucked the phone off the bed. Danni heard it hit the floor with a loud thud and she glared at him.
"That was my phone!" She snapped, "You'd better not have broken it."
"I'll buy you a new one." He told her as his hand clenched on her thigh as he lifted it up off the bed. He pushed against her firmly, leaning down to catch her gasp and Clara was forgotten.

Clara pulled the phone away from her ear. Yep, definitely hung up on her. Excellent. She chucked her phone down on the sofa next to her, crossing her arms in a pout. She'd just wanted to make a good impression in her new job, she was sure that the rest of the school knew she hadn't exactly been a teacher before. Sure she'd finished University, quite near the top of her class but she told everyone it was the top, but she'd never actually taught a class before she'd gotten the interview at Coal Hill. That whole thing was a bit strange, actually. They'd only called her in to give her the job. She'd accepted regardless, but she needed to show she was as experienced as the rest of the staff.
Going to see Dickens was going to be one of those ways. She could teach the more personal aspects of the author while seeming like she'd done loads of research. Everyone would have thought she was brilliant, it would have been great.
Now, though, it was never going to happen. She crossed her legs, sinking back into the sofa even more. She was never going to be able to un-know what they were up to now. Why the hell had Danni even answered the phone? They could have just rung her back. It wasn't like she'd rung so many times already because she was worried when the blonde didn't answer. The phone call could have waited.
A little smirk pulled at one side of her mouth before she caught it. There was a part of her that was very happy she was with the Doctor right now. The Doctor side, she suspected and she took a few moments, using what the Doctor had told her to squish him back down again.
Of course, with the smug feeling of the Doctor came the depressing feeling that it wasn't her. The same part that loved that she was with him missed his wife terribly, and it made Clara distinctly aware that Danni wasn't there with her. That it wasn't her hand Danni was holding. It wasn't Clara who was feeling...
She cleared her throat, jumping up and heading to the kitchen, deciding to make another soufflé. She'd found the action made her feel very much like herself. Apparently it was something that had persisted through the Claras that the Doctor and Danni had met. She was Soufflé Girl, and she clung to that like a lifeline.

One year later...
Danni had her feet up on the Jack's sofa, her legs chucked over the arm as she leant on the man's side for support. She had a carton of ice cream in one hand and a spoon in the other. She jabbed it pointedly towards the thin television screen that they were watching.
"No, no I'm not having that!" She exclaimed, "Sarah was a much better singer than Jessica, who the hell is voting for her?"
"Jessica's family and friends, I suspect." Jack replied, "She must know more people than Sarah."
"You're not telling me that all the people watching this right now know Jessica personally. Honestly it's all based on sob story." She took a bite of her ice cream before pointing the spoon again at the screen, "You want a sob story? I can give you a sob story!"
Jack chuckled, reaching over and taking the ice cream off her, "I think you've had enough of the rum and raisin." She let him take it away, placing the spoon on the top before he stood up.
"You're probably right." She agreed, "I hate the X Factor." He laughed again, disappearing out of the living room and into the kitchen, "How's the house hunting coming along?" She called after him as she grabbed the remote off the coffee table and turned the television over to a repeat of Friends. The One That Could Have Been - not bad.
"How did you know I was looking?" Jack asked as he came back in, sitting back in his seat so she could lean against him once again. He wrapped an arm around her loosely and she didn't back away.
"Because you're living in America and not Wales." She replied, "Admit it, you miss the Valleys."
"I do." He freely admitted, "All my friends are there." He was trying to joke, but it just made Danni feel worse for the Captain. Seeing the Face of Boe had really done a number on her. He'd lived so long and she hated that for any of that he was alone. So she'd been trying to visit Jack more, when she could get the Doctor to drop her off, and she was starting to feel a lot more comfortable with him. They'd finally fallen back to their relationship back before she'd regenerated and it felt lovely.
"I can help, if you like." She told him, "Nothing better than nosing around people's houses."
"Well, I'm going over next month to have a look at a couple. See if that husband of yours can drop you off in the same time zone and you've got yourself a deal."
"You can stay on the TARDIS!" Danni told him, "We'll make a week of it. Go see some shows, get drunk."
"I'm not sitting through Shrek the Musical again." He said pointedly and she shook her head.
"It's not being played anywhere at the moment. I checked."
He rolled his eyes, "Of course you did. You know there are plenty, better musicals out there we could go and see?"
"Do any of them have a princess who explodes a bird when she sings? I think not." Danni replied firmly as the front door flew open. They both frowned in confusion - the Doctor wasn't due for another hour - but sure enough he dashed in, almost panting in excitement as he skidded to a stop.
"Doctor, what's wrong?" She asked, instantly concerned as she climbed out of Jack's arms. The Doctor stared at her, eyes wide like he was looking over her for the first time. He reached out, picking her up and spinning her around on the spot as she protested. He placed her back down on the ground again, pushing her hair out of her face as he tried to cup it in both hands at the same time.
"Doctor, what is it?" She laughed, the pure joy he was radiating completely contagious.
"It's Gallifrey." He told her, "It's not time locked. It's not been burnt. They're all alive!" He cried and Danni's blood turned cold.

Jack handed Danni a cup of tea and she smiled in thanks. The Doctor hadn't stopped pacing, his excited and nervous energy keeping him moving. Jack sat next to Danni, giving her arm a rub as she blew on the top of the cup.
"So, there were three of you?" She asked and the Doctor nodded, "And I missed that? I miss everything good!"
"You were there!" He told her, "Your old body, you came with Ten." He clapped his hands, "Oh, you're going to love it there, Danni-Girl. Once we find you, I'm going to show you how beautiful it is." Danni glanced at Jack, looking for a bit of support.
"I've already been, remember?" She reminded him gently but he waved it away.
"I'll show you it properly." He told her, "Can you believe it, though, Danni-Girl?" He looked so excited, and she could see why. He'd always thought he was the last, even she wasn't a proper Time Lord, but now he wasn't. The fact they were trapped in another universe actually seemed more familiar than it probably should have to her, but she couldn't quite place the memory. The time of him being on his own was coming to an end.
And, of course, there was the fact that he'd never pressed the button. He hadn't committed that terrible act he'd been trying to make up for since he was 900. He could forgive himself, he could move on and she couldn't be happier for him.
It was a shame that she couldn't focus on that, though, and he seemed to see her distinct lack of enthusiasm, something Jack had noticed straight away. Hence the cup of tea in her hands.
"What's wrong?" He asked her, his smile faltering, "I thought you'd be happy."
She nodded, "I am." She replied but he looked doubtful. She forced a smile, "No, honestly, I couldn't be happier for you, Spaceman."
"Then was is it?" He asked her.
"They're back." She replied, looking down at her tea, "Everyone on that planet has been saved. Every single one." The Doctor crouched down in front of her, cupping her face with a gentle, loving smile on her face.
"I had thought of that." He admitted, neither of them mentioning the blonde-haired Time Lord she was terrified of, "I won't let him near you."
"But-" She started and he shook his head.
"You promised me, didn't you?" He replied, "If he comes from you, you come for me. Doesn't matter when. You come and find me, Danni-Girl. I will protect you from him. He won't hurt you again." Tears gathered in her eyes. She wanted to be happy, she wanted to be proud of him but she was just so scared. He wouldn't be happy that she left him behind in the Time War, trapped on a planet stuck in a parallel universe. He'd punished her before, he'd do it again.
The Doctor took the cup off her, handing it to Jack before he pulled her in for a hug, hiding his anger from her as he felt her shaking in his arms. He'd hoped she wouldn't think of that. He'd hoped after all these years that man wouldn't ruin this for her, but he had. He whispered that he loved her into her hair, using the language only he and she understood. Her grip on him tightened but she pulled back, trying to smile.
"You know, he's not the only one who will stop him?" Jack commented and she turned to look at him. He reached forward, placing a hand on her shoulder and forcing her out of the Doctor's grasp. He then handed her the cup of tea once again, "You need help? There's an army of people out there who will help you. If you are on your own, just run until you find one of us. We'll all happily kill the bastard to keep you safe."
"Jack!" Danni exclaimed, "I don't want anyone killing anyone! Not because of me!"
He shrugged, "You don't really have a say. Now drink your tea." She rolled her eyes.
"Yes father." She replied petulantly as the Doctor climbed onto the sofa next to her, chucking his arm around her shoulder as he crossed one leg over the other.
"What are we watching?" He asked, forgetting the bombshell that had fallen on his life, changing everything about him to make her feel better. He could wait to be happy, or worried, or anxious, or whatever was going to come from this. His Danni-Girl needed to feel safe and secure, and she was so grateful for her husband that she actually felt safer. She nodded at the screen.
"X Factor. The girl I liked just got voted out." She explained, "All because didn't have a sob story!"
"Well, that's the way these things work." He replied, outraged on her behalf, "Unless your mum's dog had died, you'll never win the hearts and minds of the nation."
"But she's a better singer!" Danni protested, "It shouldn't matter."
Jack watched them rip apart the fabric of the Talent Show scene, shaking his head slightly but fondly watching them. He had been missing the UK lately, he really would have to move back so he wasn't completely on his own once Danni had flown away once again. He'd definitely get her to come house shopping with him. Maybe even let her choose her own bedroom once he'd found a house he liked.
The door opened and all three of them looked up in unison. Clara stood there, arms crossed as she glared at the Doctor, "You forgot about me, didn't you?"
Danni smacked the Doctor on the arm, "You didn't say Clara was here!"
~0~0~0~
On a ship very far away from earth, two people in dark black robes teleported into the middle of the central room. The room itself was made of two floors of dark metal, leading off into the depths of the ship. One of the two people held the weapon's arm of a Dalek like a trophy while the other just kept their head bowed.
"I bring proof of courage and comradeship. What is this ship," The Doctor chucked his hood off, holding the weapon aloft, "and why are you here?" Danni followed suit and the pair looked into the darkness of the halls around them.
"Identify yourselves by species and planet of origin." She declared firmly, copying what the Doctor had said on the last couple of ships. Next to her the Doctor smirked.
"I like it when you take charge." He murmured and she shot him an exasperated look before her lips pulled into a smirk of her own.
"I like it when you do." She replied pointedly, the innuendo dripping in her tone. The hallways began lighting up with hundreds of blue lights, a low, constant beeping joining them. The pair slowly spun around back to back, taking in the number of lights that all seemed to be aiming at them.
"Exterminate!" The Daleks that began to appear chanted in unison, "Exterminate!"
"You've brought me onto a Dalek ship?!" Danni cried angrily as the Doctor lowered the Dalek weapon. He placed his finger to his ear, talking into the small ear bud he was wearing.
"Handles?" He called quietly to the thing on the other end.
"Exterminate!" Two bolts of Dalek fire shot towards them and the pair ducked in unison.
"Doctor!" Danni exclaimed and he pulled her closer, wrapping an arm around her as the Daleks began closing in on the pair, forming a circle around them.
"Exterminate!"
"Handles?" The Doctor shouted this time into the ear bud. Another shot hit just above their heads as they moved out of the way once again, "Agh! Handles?!"
A moment later they both appeared in the console room of the TARDIS and Danni chucked her robe off, "Every ship, Theta!" She snapped as he shed himself of his own robe, "They keep shooting at us!"
"Don't blame me!" He retorted, storming up to the console where a Cyberman head was plugged into it, "Handles, I said, 'Put us on a ship.' I didn't say, 'Put us on a Dalek ship.' Don't put me on a Dalek ship, when I'm holding a broken bit of Dalek!" He raised the Dalek weapon arm and smacked the head with it. It bounced back and smacked him in the forehead.
"Don't blame the Cyberman head!" Danni retorted as the Doctor yanked it off the console, "You're the one who's letting a Cyberman head send us into unknown ships!" He had come into the TARDIS one morning when she had been looking for him, waving it around like he'd won a prize out of a grabbing machine. He'd told her he'd named it Handles. She had not been happy, and quite frankly she still wasn't. She didn't care if all the organic materials had been cleaned out of it, or if it no longer had any protocols. She didn't want a Cyberman head in her home.
"You did not indicate a preference." Handles replied factually as he walked it around to the monitor.
"Use your head!" He snapped, "It's not like you've got a lot of alternatives." He motioned Danni over, but she knew what she was going to see. Rows and rows of ships surrounding an ineffectual, small planet in the middle of nowhere, "They're all here - Daleks, Sontarans, Terileptils, Slitheen. And they're not even fighting, they're just parked. Why?"
"The message was received throughout the universe." Handles told them both and Danni rolled her eyes.
"Yes, thank you, we know that." She snapped, "A message even the TARDIS can't translate. What kind of message is that? No one can understand it!" The Doctor gently shushed her as she started to get worked up over it. He knew why, it was one of the reasons they were all there. She was terrified of the message. He could feel it coming off her, even if neither of them knew why she was feeling so scared. He placed a kiss on her head as he began pacing around the console.
"Why is everyone here if they don't understand it?" The Doctor mused, annoyed that he couldn't work out what was unsettling his wife as he flicked it on. It was just a series of noises that the TARDIS played on a loop. No words, nothing of any use. Just a spike of nervousness from his wife and nothing else.
"You're here." Handles pointed out and Danni decided she really wanted to throw it out of the doors. It really was starting to get on her nerves, and she didn't have much patient left.
"Well, you know, I'm OCD." The Doctor dismissed as the phone started ringing, "What's their excuse?" He moved back to the monitor where the message frequencies were shown, as if it made any sense to him at all, "What does this message mean?"
"I don't know." Danni replied as she headed towards the TARDIS front door to answer the phone on the other side, "You need to get the phone put back onto the console, this is ridiculous." He took a quick glance at her before double taking, quickly putting Handles down on the console before running to her side, grabbing her arm.
"Oh, no." He told her insistently, "You're not hanging out into space."
"Theta, it's fine. Just don't chuck the TARDIS sideways and we'll both be fine." He shook his head.
"You're not hanging out into space!" He told her, all but dragging her back to the console as the phone continued to ring, "I'll get it." He picked up handles, placing him back onto the device which connected him to the console.
"Theta, it's fine!" She protested again and he shook his head, looking at her with a slightly wide-eyed look, showing how serious he was.
"Danni." He replied firmly but also sounding rather upset, "You're not hanging out of the TARDIS. Please." She sighed, leaning up and placing a kiss on his cheek.
"Fine." She grumbled and he caught her lips with his for a moment before heading to the door once again.
"Handles!" He called, "Remind me I've got to patch the telephone back through the console unit."
Just as he reached for the latch on the door Handles lit up, obviously suddenly a hive of activity, "Attention! Information available."
The Doctor quickly rushed back, looking at the head both expectantly and excitedly, "OK?" He prompted, bracing himself for whatever information on the message the head had gained.
"You must patch the telephone device back through the console unit." Danni snorted in laughter as the Doctor shook his head, talking with his hands once again.
"No, no. No, no, no, no. No, not now! Remind me later." He instructed before heading back to the door. Whoever was calling them was going to hang up soon.
"When?" Handles asked, causing him to stop in his tracks.
"I don't know, just later, just pick a time." He commanded before heading to the door once again.
"When?"
"I don't know, just any old time. When you think I've forgotten."
"When?"
The Doctor walked over, trying to be patient with the head. He was, after all, just a head and as a computer he just did as he was told, "Just pick a random number, express that number as a quantity of minutes, and when that time has elapsed, remind me to patch the telephone back through the console unit."
"Affirmative." Handles replied and the Doctor sighed in relief.
"Doctor?" Danni called, laughter on her voice and he spun around, pointing at her.
"Don't." He warned, knowing she was going to remind him just like the head had. He opened the door, reaching out and opening the hatch, pulling the phone into the TARDIS and slamming the door shut before anyone noticed him.
"Hello. The TARDIS." He stated into the phone.
"Emergency. You're my boyfriend." Clara replied, getting straight to the point.
"Ding-dong!" The Doctor said, leaning against the railings on the walkway, "Let me tell the missus, I'll be right over." Danni walked over, frowning in confusion.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"Clara." He replied, covering the mouthpiece, "She says I'm her boyfriend now."
"Oh, fair enough." Danni replied, pulling his arm down slightly so she could talk to Clara, "He's all yours. He kicks in his sleep, though, and he's not 100% potty trained, but you'll get the hang of it!" The Doctor wrapped his free around her, pinning her to his chest, back pressed against him.
"Oi!" He murmured before kissing her neck. She giggled at the brief caresses.
"Stop it!"
"Can you not mess around while I'm on the phone!" Clara demanded. It was the second time in about four weeks and she was getting sick of the noise and the feelings it brought up, "You're not actually my boyfriend." She told the Doctor who shrugged. He stopped pressing kisses on her skin, straightening up.
"That's a shame." He replied, turning Danni around so he could see her eyes dancing with the mirth his actions had brought on, "You don't know what you're missing."
"But I need a boyfriend really quickly."
"Well, I hope you're nicer to the next one." He told her and Danni took the phone off him.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" She asked the other woman.
"Christmas dinner, me cooking." Clara told her and Danni gasped.
"It's Christmas?" She exclaimed excitedly, looking up at the Doctor, who now was holding her close, "Can we go do Christmas?" She asked, "It's been a while!"
"It's not that!" Clara protested, "I may have accidentally invented a boyfriend." Danni frowned, her nose crinkling adorably and the Doctor placed a quick kiss on it.
"Why would you do that?" She asked.
"I don't know, do I?" Clara exclaimed, obviously panicking, "And I said he'd be coming to Christmas dinner, so I need to borrow your husband."
"Can I come too?" Danni asked.
"Of course!" Clara replied, "Oh, that might be better, actually. You can be my girlfriend! That'll shut up my aunt!"
"Sounds like a plan!" Danni agreed, "Guess what?" She stated to the Doctor with a grin, "I'm the girl Clara dumped you for." She frowned at the outraged look that spread across the Doctor's face. He tore the phone from Danni's hand, ignoring her protested.
"I'll be your boyfriend." He told Clara with a very distinct hint of finality to his tone, "We'll be there, and you definitely will not have my Danni-Girl as your girlfriend."
"Jealous she was so excited, Spaceman?" Clara teased.
"Of course not." He replied as Danni tugged on his jacket.
"Doctor…" She called, pulling out of his grasp and running to the console. He pulled the phone along with him, seeing the output on the monitor. A new ship, that was more like it, and one that was trying to make contact as well. He picked up Handles as he went over the information on the screen. Nothing about the message, and the TARDIS couldn't identify the ship, but there may be more in the ship.
"Handles, that's a new ship." He told the head, who had been the one to pick up the signal in the first place. He turned to the head but caught Danni's look, "OK, we'll take the TARDIS this time." He told her, watching her relax slightly. She was right, after all. Didn't need Handles teleporting them into the middle of an enemy ship again.
He quickly set their course, dropping the phone and but catching it before it fell off the console.
"… just because you won the bowling doesn't mean I wouldn't be a better date." The Doctor rolled his eyes.
"We're not going through this again. Gotta dash." He let go of the phone, taking Handles and rushing to the door. He paused before stepping out, turning and pointing at Danni who was still by the console.
"Stay there." He told her and she held her hands up, showing she had no intentions on following him out. He nodded, glad for her cooperation and he turned back to the door. First he held Handles out, letting him scan the area before stepping slowly into the alien ship.
Danni grabbed the monitor, pulling it around the small distance to her to save the effort of walking. The ship looked pretty impressive on the scans, but she wasn't up to date on her space ship outlines. The writing on the screen disappeared, the TARDIS finally identifying the ship and Danni's eyes widened in horror. She rushed to the door, looking out into the hallway.
"Doctor! It's the Cybermen!" She called out as the Doctor dodged some shots coming at him from another corridor.
"I know!" He shouted, using Handles as a shield to bounce the shots off, "Get inside!" She rushed in and out of his way, picking the phone off the floor as it rang again.
"Please, you have to come." Clara begged, "I'm cooking Christmas dinner!"
"We won't be long. The Doctor's just being shot at by Cybermen." Danni replied, leaning against the console. She had total faith in her husband, and she could see down the hallway. He was doing fine, so she just had to wait, "Did you make mash potato?"
"Of course!" Clara retorted, sounding slightly insulted, "What's a Christmas dinner without mash potato." Danni grinned as the Doctor ran into the TARDIS, shutting the door with a loud slam.
"Excellent! I like mine with lots of gravy." She replied happily, "We won't be long."
