Sunlight shined through the window hitting Kira in the face. His eyelids twitching in the sunlight, he lifted his hand to block the light hitting his face.
He opened his eyes, and looked at the back of his hand for a while.
"That strange dream again, people and places that I don't recognize. What do they all mean?" he sighed.
He climbed out of bed, and went over to the window. Looking outside he saw Mihel in the church's yard watering plants.
"I wonder why they all seemed so familiar." he pondered
"Oh right, I was supposed to train with Akame again today." he remembered
Kira walked away from the window and over to his room's door, before he opened it his eyes wandered to a small charm on a table next to the door.
"I shouldn't forget this." he grabbed the charm and hung it on his waist
As Kira was running down the stairs when he saw Mihel comig in, placing down his metal watering can.
"Where do you have such a hurry?"Mihel asked as he brushed his hands on his clothes.
"Yeah, I'm gonna train with Akame again today." Kira said as he reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Wait, but you haven't even eaten breakfast yet." Mihel yelled after Kira, but to no avail as Kira was already out the door.
Mihel clenched his hand into a fist. "That boy never listens to me."
He Ran along a path away from the church into the forest. The forest was quiet without a sound.
Kira reached the small clearing in the woods, but Akame was nowhere to be seen. He walked around for a while, looking for her.
"Where is she? It's not that early, so she should be here." Kira thought
Kira decided that he would head to the village to look for Akame.
Walking through the small streets, where he felt peoples' gazes on, and he knew why all too well. It was because of his pitch black hair and eye color.
And because of that everyone in the village thought he was cursed, and stayed away from him. The rumor had spread to the whole village, even though he had only lived with Mihel for a week.
A lot of the rumors were also about the fact that he had somehow survived the massive storm that loomed over the sea that day, which was the reason for him washing up on the shore of the village.
"Man, this sucks." Kira thought. "I didn't choose to look this way."
Kira was completly absorbed in his thoughts, so he didn't notice that he was walking towards someone with their backed turned to him, and soon enough he bumped into the person, who turned around.
And infront of him, Kira saw a woman who looked idenical to Akame, with the same red hair, though longer, and the same red eyes. She was much older and taller.
"Oh, dearie. You should really watch where you're going." The woman leaned down to Kira's height, while brushing some hair behind her ear.
"Are you perhaps lost?" She asked, with a concerned face.
She leaned a little closer, seemingly studying Kira's face. Reaching out she touched Kira's hair feeling it in her hand.
"Wait, I think I know you. You're kira, right?" She asked with a smile, while relasing her grip on Kira's hair.
Kira nodded. "That's right." he confirmed while looking at the ground.
"I knew it. oh I'm so glad you're friends with Akame, I coudn't thank you enough. Why don't you come with me." Before Kira could respond he was being dragged by his hand.
Kira was being dragged along by the woman.
"Is that right? You two had plans to train, but she didn't come. Making a promise and not keeping it. She should learn some manners, she's becoming a real delinquent, you know?" She said angrily
The woman lead Kira to a small house, Pushing him inside and following him in.
"I'll go get Akame. you just wait here." The woman called out as she walked upstairs.
Kira heard yelling from upstairs following a loud thud. Kira stood awkwardly at the entrace.
The noise died down, and he saw Akame coming down the stairs, a red handprint on her left cheek.
"Are you okay?" Kira asked, staring at the handprint.
Akame lifted up a shaky thumbs up. "Yup, completly fine."
Then the woman came down down the stairs and handed two wooden swords to Akame.
"You really are an idiot, Akame, ditching your friend like that." The woman scolded.
Then she turned to Kira with a smile. "Now you two go have fun, and if Akame does something bad, make sure to tell me and I'll set her straight."
Kira nodded, before Akame dragged him out of the house.
They walked through the town to the forest's edge in silence. as they started walking down the path to the clearing Kira decided to break the awkward silence.
"Your mom is kind of scary." He admitted.
"My mom? Ohh, that was my sister. Our parents are away." she explained
Kira's face turned red from embarrasment. "Oh, I didn't realize, she just seemed so ol-....I mean mature."
Akame laughed at Kira."Were you about to say 'old'?"
"No, I wasn't."-Kira responded.
The two reached the clearing, and Akame placed the wooden swords on the ground, and streched her arms.
"Akame, could you tell me about Yukishiro? Mihel told me a little, but I wasn't really listening." Kira asked.
"Seriously, how do you not know anything abuout Yukishiro?" She said while grinding her teeth.
"Sorry."
"Well, I guess I'll tell you. Yukishiro is the head of Kakushitsu family, one of the two noble families of the Eastern-region. He also runs the Kakushitsu school of combat. He is a master of sworsmanship. One of the strongest. Yes, Yukishiro Kakushitsu is truly amazing" Akame explained, a bright glint in her eyes.
"Noble families? School of combat? Eastern-region? What!? Slow down, I don't understand at all."
"Oh right, you probably wouldn't know. "-Akame said smugly.
She cleared her throat and started to explain in more detail.
"So there are five regions, the northern-, western-, southern- eastern- and central-region. All regions have different noble families, and each noble family has something like a school where they teach their style of combat that has been passed in their family for generations."-Akame explained passionetly.
After listening to Akame's explanation Kira started to understand a little, but he still had many questions.
"I've decided, Kira. You're coming with me, so we can train with Yukishiro together."-Akame proclaimed.
"What? You can't just decide something like that-"-Kira's sentence was cut short as Akame coevered his mouth with her hand.
"You don't get a choice."-She smiled.
Akame stood up and started to walk away.
"We'll get there together, and pass his tests."-She laughed as she walked away.
Kira was left there sitting on the ground.
"We didn't didn't even train today."-He said sighing.
He laid back and looked at the sky.
"I might find answers from Yukishiro."
But in the cover of the trees someone was watching him with a keen eye.
"Hoo, It seems you can't help but get in my way, Kira. But not to despair, I'll make sure to crush you like a cockroach under my foot."-the preson chuckled to themselves.
The person turned to speak with someone else. "Do you understand? This is your chance. get rid of him, and I'll make sure to grant you, your wish."
"Y-yes. I-I won't disappoint you."- the other person promised.
Both of them left, leaving Kira to his thoughts.
