Xue Jiu laughed too. "Sure. I'm free today. I'll spar with you later." He didn't take it too seriously—the difference in cultivation gave him confidence.
Only Xue Yi's eyes flickered slightly. He had witnessed Gu You's entire soul core formation process.
"Alright, let's all gather in the Star Battle Network later and watch the fight," Xue Yi said.
"I thought ordinary matches couldn't be spectated?" Gu You asked curiously.
The Blood Gods burst out laughing. Xue San said gently, "The Blood God Battalion has special privileges. We can watch any match. Don't worry."
'They even get this kind of benefit?'
Xue Yi looked toward Xue Jiu. "Don't underestimate Gu You. You might regret it." He clapped Xue Jiu hard on the shoulder.
Xue Jiu blinked, then joked, "Boss, don't scare me. If I get demoted to a reserve, I'll be so sad." He even pretended to hide behind Xue Ba, acting frightened and making everyone laugh.
Xue Er glared at him. "If the boss says not to be careless, then take it seriously. You're not young anymore—stop acting like a fool."
Xue Jiu's expression turned a little strange. "Got it."
Gu You glanced at Xue Jiu and then at Xue Er. He suddenly realized they looked somewhat alike, and Xue Jiu seemed genuinely afraid of Xue Er.
"They're father and son. A rare pair of Blood Gods from the same family. A famous tale in our battalion," Xue San explained.
Gu You nodded but said nothing more.
Among the Blood God Battalion, the War God Temple members were the most numerous. Xue Er was their leader, with Xue Ba and Xue Jiu following under him.
"Everyone's busy, so let's log into the network now," Xue Yi concluded.
Gu You returned to his quarters and entered the Star Battle Pod.
He logged in smoothly and headed for the arena, quickly locating the other Blood Gods.
The nine had taken amusing usernames—Hong Yi through Hong Jiu, swapping "Blood" for "Red."
"Ready? Then begin," Xue Yi's voice echoed. The battalion was still responsible for monitoring the Abyssal Passage. Even though the Abyssal Tide had recently ended, they couldn't relax.
Xue Jiu generously paid the match fee. The other eight vanished into flashes of light to spectate.
Light flashed, and Gu You and Xue Jiu faced off on the battlefield.
"Three, two, one, begin!"
Xue Jiu beckoned to Gu You with a finger. He smiled, but his stance wasn't careless. Nine soul rings rose—three purple, six black—forming a powerful Titled Douluo aura.
Gu You let out a snort. His bloodline surged, and a spatial rift tore open behind him.
A long halberd slowly emerged into his grip.
"Another divine weapon?" Hong Yi muttered, stunned. The others showed visible shock too.
'Two divine weapons? How can anyone not envy that?'
The Purple-Gold Dragon Halberd cut the air before Gu You. Xue Jiu's expression changed as he felt his aura being disrupted by that simple motion. Then he felt the searing heat from Gu You—not in temperature, but from an overwhelming bloodline pressure.
Eight soul rings rose from beneath Gu You's feet. His aura exploded upward, especially his blood essence, which pressed so hard against Xue Jiu that his own bloodline trembled.
The moment Gu You's soul rings fully lit up, the eight Blood Gods' faces all changed—like the sky was falling.
'What the hell is this?'
'A rainbow-colored configuration?'
'Is that... rose gold?'
Xue Yi, who was always the most composed, saw Gu You's eighth soul ring and thought of an old legend.
