"Get behind me!"
"Deploying the Sevenfold Barrier of the Burning Heavens!"
Protecting everyone behind her, Little Rimuru-held securely in Little Emiya's arms-extended her hand. A crimson chrysanthemum-shaped shield unfolded instantly, meeting the incoming storm of Charybdis's scales head-on.
Before retreating behind Little Rimuru's barrier, everyone had attempted to block the attacks on their own.
It hadn't worked.
There were simply too many scales.
The density of the assault was overwhelming. No matter how they tried to intercept them, the sheer volume crushed all resistance. It wasn't something individual defenses could handle.
"It looks like this is the end," Rimuru said quietly, standing at the edge of the Vimana and watching his subordinates struggle under Charybdis's relentless assault.
"Indeed," someone replied grimly. "Next, it'll be our turn."
"How about it?" Shirou Emiya asked with a smile, resting a hand on the visibly eager Milim. "Want to give it a try?"
"Forget it," Rimuru said, shaking her head. "Benimaru and the others inherited their skills from me. While their total magicule capacity can't compare to mine, their magical output and slashing power aren't much weaker."
"From that alone, it's obvious that even if I attack personally, it would probably amount to nothing more than a scratch."
She paused briefly.
"Unless I use Predator to devour it completely."
Recalling the battle against Geld, Rimuru sighed.
"But that would require probing the opponent's abilities first. What if it has a skill that counters mine?"
The fight with the Orc Lord Geld had been a battle of mutual devouring. Rimuru had only won after immense effort and risk.
If Charybdis possessed a similar ability-or worse, a direct counter-it would be suicide.
"So I'll leave Charybdis to you, Shirou."
"As for me, I'll save them first."
Her gaze shifted to Little Rimuru, who was barely holding back the endless wave of scales, and to the devastated surroundings. Fully aware of the terrifying power behind Charybdis's attacks, Rimuru immediately flew toward the group.
"If they get caught in this," she muttered, "it'll turn into a meat grinder."
The speed of the assault was horrifying.
Rimuru shot ahead of the group, extended her palm, and shouted.
"Devour them completely-Predator!"
A tremendous suction force erupted from her hand.
The surrounding scales were pulled in instantly, vanishing into her body one after another. In the blink of an eye, the sky cleared.
Charybdis's scales were gone.
Not a single one remained.
"It's Lord Rimuru!"
"They were devoured instantly!"
"Lord Rimuru is incredible!"
"Long live Lord Rimuru!"
Amid the cheers erupting below, Rimuru's lips curved upward slightly.
After returning to the Vimana, Benimaru immediately dropped to one knee before Rimuru and Shirou Emiya.
"My deepest apologies, Lord Rimuru. Lord Emiya," he said, his expression filled with shame. "The plan to attack Charybdis has completely failed."
It was clear he was deeply dissatisfied with the outcome.
"Don't worry, Benimaru," Rimuru said warmly. "Your plan was flawless. Truly worthy of our great general."
"As for failing to defeat Charybdis, that isn't your fault."
"If that monster were easy to deal with, it would've been eliminated long ago."
"So there's no reason for you to feel ashamed."
She patted his shoulder, her expression relaxed and reassuring.
"Besides," Rimuru continued, smiling, "our strongest hasn't even made a move yet."
"And what you deployed wasn't even all of the Monster Federation's combat power."
"You should learn to rely on us more."
She glanced toward Shirou Emiya, who was seated calmly in the main seat.
"It's all up to you now, Lord Emiya."
"Yes, yes, yes," Shirou replied with an exaggerated nod. "Understood, Lord Rimuru."
They exchanged a look.
Then both burst out laughing.
"Hold on tight," Shirou said with a grin.
The next moment, the Vimana-which had been hovering steadily in the air-began to move.
It accelerated straight toward Charybdis.
As the massive form of Charybdis drew closer, Benimaru and the others couldn't help but tense up. The previous exchange had already etched the monster's overwhelming power deeply into their minds.
"Look!" Shuna suddenly shouted from the side. "Charybdis's scales are regenerating!"
Everyone turned toward its back.
Sure enough, the shattered scales were rapidly reforming.
"Hyper regeneration..." Rimuru muttered as Great Sage's analysis came through. "...How troublesome."
The realization made her sigh.
The enemy before them was far more difficult to handle than she'd initially thought.
"How about it?" Rimuru asked. "Can you handle this, Shirou?"
"No problem," Shirou replied casually.
He had already seen everything.
The Vimana shifted course, gliding smoothly toward Charybdis's back.
"Strong defense. High endurance. Hyper regeneration," Shirou said calmly. "A nightmare for swordsmen."
"Add magic interference that weakens spellcasting, and it's no wonder this thing has ruled the skies unchallenged for so long."
"To deal with an enemy like this..."
"...you crush it with absolute power."
After confirming his position, Shirou gave the command.
"Let's start with some appetizers."
The moment his words fell, the entire Vimana roared.
A deep, thunderous vibration shook the airship, followed by a strange sensation-like something massive being released.
Shuna, who had earlier deployed magic to display the surrounding area inside the ship, widened her eyes.
On the screen, unknown objects were dropping rapidly.
"Those are-!?"
She didn't get to finish.
A colossal roar erupted below.
The deafening sound forced everyone to cover their ears instinctively. At the same time, Rimuru's voice echoed directly inside their minds through thought communication.
"Don't look down!"
Rimuru knew exactly what weapon had just been deployed.
Shirou Emiya had explained this airship's armaments long ago.
An ancient nuclear warhead.
The ultimate killing weapon.
Among everyone present, almost no one understood the terror of nuclear weapons better than Rimuru.
She had come from Japan.
She knew.
Even though the Vimana had already begun retreating at full speed after releasing the warhead, the shockwave still caught up to them.
A sweeping storm.
Blinding light.
Overwhelming heat.
All of it surged toward the airship.
Enhanced by Shirou Emiya's skills, the power of this strike far surpassed the explosion of Mount Enzou that Gilgamesh had unleashed in the past.
"Ugh... ah... ah..."
Hearing the sound rising from below, Shirou smiled faintly.
"To take that head-on and not die instantly," he said, "what terrifying vitality."
The Vimana was now surrounded by thick, rolling black smoke.
Even so, thanks to Shuna's surveillance magic, Shirou could still clearly observe the situation.
Below them, Charybdis-having taken the full brunt of the ancient nuclear warhead-was plummeting toward the ground.
It was no longer able to fly.
"Ah! Milim-Milim!"
"A voice?" Rimuru reacted immediately. "Did you hear that just now?"
"Eh? Let me check," Milim said.
Her eyes glowed as she activated her Dragon Eye, peering directly at Charybdis.
"...It's that black panther," she said. "Phobio. The one who provoked us before."
"It's him?" Rimuru stiffened.
Then, without hesitation, she shouted.
"Hold back, Shirou!"
