Suspended inside a transparent casket, bound by interwoven strands of Reiatsu, the black mass writhed like a living tumor. Urahara Kisuke bent over it with uncharacteristic solemnity, his hands flickering across controls in a blur, ten fingers striking keys and dials like a relentless swarm. The monitor ahead rippled with strange patterns and symbols—dense formulas that Moyu could scarcely recognize.

"There's a specialization in every craft," Moyu muttered under his breath before shaking his head and abandoning the useless thought. He had no talent for deciphering such things. Best to wait for Urahara's conclusions.

Hours bled away before Kisuke finally exhaled, leaning back. "Two results," he said with a helpless smile. "Bad news—and worse news. Which do you want first?"

Moyu blinked. "Shouldn't there be bad news and good news?"

"Unfortunately not." Kisuke's shoulders sagged. "The appearance of the Void Barrier proves Hueco Mundo has overtaken me in Hollow research. The technique entwines multiple forces: Hōgyoku resonance, Hollow reiatsu, Shinigami reiatsu, and—" He stopped, his gaze fixing squarely on Moyu. "Your reiatsu."

Moyu stiffened. "What do you mean?"

"The literal meaning." Kisuke tapped a switch. On the screen, a mass of shadow pulsed violently, exuding suffocating pressure. "It isn't like ordinary Shinigami reiatsu. Its density is hundreds of times greater, its structure alien. I suspect it stems directly from your soul itself."

He did not pry further. The soul was forbidden territory; one step too deep, and Moyu's blade might answer for him. Even Urahara Kisuke did not fancy testing his luck against that.

Moyu frowned, lost in thought, before finally asking, "Then what's the worse news?"

Kisuke spread his hands. "If your account is correct, the Arrancar not only created the Void Barrier but developed Reiatsu Collapse specifically to unravel Shinigami reiatsu. And according to my analysis, ninety-nine percent of that research originates from your unique reiatsu properties. A power entirely above the scale of ordinary Shinigami."

Moyu's brows drew tighter. He had never considered the scale of his own pressure, or the dangers that came with it.

Then Kisuke gave a sharp intake of breath, eyes narrowing. "Hm? This is…" His grin widened as his hands flew across the console again. "Interesting. Looks like we've found a turning point."

Moyu leaned over, expression flat. "I'll never understand what excites you about this." But Kisuke was already absorbed in comparing data streams, parsing the breakdown of spiritual particles, analyzing the balance of Hollow and Shinigami traits.

At last the crackling instruments quieted. Kisuke turned, eyes gleaming behind the shadow of his hat. "Curious about my discovery, Mr. Moyu?"

"No," Moyu replied without pause.

The curt answer slammed into Kisuke like a slap. He reddened, jaw working soundlessly. Moyu ignored him; indulging Kisuke's eccentricities only encouraged them.

Instead, Kisuke changed tack. "How much do you know about Kurotsuchi Mayuri?"

Moyu thought for a moment. "Not much. Just that he's a lunatic without restraint."

"Accurate," Kisuke nodded vigorously. "Just now, this system fed me records from his experiments. After obtaining traces of your reiatsu, Mayuri implanted it directly into his own soul."

Moyu's eyelids twitched. The implication sank in quickly.

"In other words," Kisuke continued, "even should he die, his return would remain bound to your reiatsu. The Kurotsuchi Mayuri you killed before was likely a creation sustained by that bond."

Moyu exhaled slowly, half in disbelief, half in reluctant awe of the scientist's depravity. Under Kisuke's explanation, the turning point became clear.

Aizen, Szayelaporro, Mayuri, and Kisuke—four scientists circling the same subject: Moyu's reiatsu. Each had dissected it from different angles. Aizen and Szayelaporro forged weapons from it—drugs, Void Barriers, Reiatsu Collapse. But Mayuri and Kisuke, through their own reckless curiosity, had unknowingly created counterbalances to those same tools.

"Reiatsu Collapse destroys from the particle level," Kisuke explained, his tone sharp with conviction. "But if we stabilize reiatsu from the sub-spiritual level, the collapse can be resisted. Alone, it would take me months to create such a solution. With Mayuri's foundation already in place, I can finish in three days. Whether in pill form, barrier, or spiritual device—it doesn't matter."

Moyu's gaze sharpened. "Then in three days' time, we'll be ready to strike Hueco Mundo directly?"

Kisuke blinked. "Eh? That's not—"

But Moyu was already rising to his feet, voice decisive. "Good. Then I'll leave the rest to you. I'm heading to First Division."

The door slid shut behind him.

Kisuke remained frozen a beat before tugging at his hat and muttering. "When did I ever say we were ready for an all-out assault on Hueco Mundo…?"
