Itsuka Kendo hid within the store, her eyes fixed on the wide road outside.

Loud booms and bangs rattled the window pressed against her face as a war went on, chunks of concrete flying here and there. A car flipped on the road and slammed into the opposite store, before bursting apart with a loud explosion.

Kendo, who had the Big Fist Quirk, letting her ridiculously increase the size and strength of her fists, gulped at the possibility of another such car exploding right against her face.

The possibility was less, but it wasn't zero. Never zero. Not with a war raging outside.

On the road, on one side, Jurota Shishida of Class 2-B, having the Beast Quirk, was fighting Rikido Sato from Class 2-A.

Shishida's Quirk allowed him to take a beastly form several meters large, augmenting his strength, speed, durability, and senses of hearing and smell. Such strength didn't come at a cost, though, as, while he was transformed, he became more wild, becoming reckless. This recklessness continued to overtake his personality as time went on, especially if he didn't revert to his human form.

The only thing that was working for Shishida at this moment was that his opponent was becoming equally wild and reckless.

Rikido Sato had the Sugar Rush Quirk, which allowed him to increase his strength many fold upon consuming sugar. If he consumed sugar even more after a set time limit, then he could continue to use his enhanced strength, but it would also make him needlessly reckless and unpredictable.

Presently, both these beasts were charging at each other like mad dogs, destroying everything.

Kendo couldn't blame them, though.

Her heart was beating loudly in her chest as well.

Over seventy-five minutes had gone by since the Battle Royale had started.

In the sky, the holographic screen now showed the number of students standing at a mere 30.

When Kendo looked into the distance, she could see the pulses of the laser boundaries.

Taking a guess, she could tell that the boundaries had already almost reached the different regions that surrounded the city at the center. With the next contraction, they might even jump straight to the outer bank of the river that circled the city.

Which meant, time was literally running out.

Which meant, sooner or later, their plan to team up against Class 2-A's students would also end.

Before that, they must take out as many 2-A students as they can.

Otherwise…

A steely tank brought Kendo's gaze back to the road.

Shishida and Sato weren't the only ones who had laid the buildings and cars on either side of the road to ruins.

Not too far from them, Tetsutetsu from Class 2-B, having Steel Quirk, was fighting with Kirishima from Class 2-A, who had the Hardening Quirk.

The moment the two had looked at each other, Kendo remembered, they had attacked, as if they were born with a strong rivalry.

Now, both Tetsutetsu and Kirishima were on their last legs, blood trickling down their arms, chest, and head.

And then there was she.

Kendo hardly believed that either Shishida or Tetsutetsu even remembered her at this point.

They had planned for the boys to keep the opponents occupied while she hid nearby. Then, once they had trimmed down their targets' strength, chipping away at their stamina, she would attack, finishing the job with her Ultimate Move.

Kendo didn't believe this strategy was unfair at all.

Not when it was Class 2-A on the other side of the court.

Even though All Might had clearly told them that Battle Royale was about the last person standing, it was also about lasting longer than the next person in Battle Center X.

Especially if this next person was from Class 2-A.

Time after time, Class 2-A students had been catching the limelight, as if they were better than Class 2-B students.

That wasn't their fault to some extent, Kendo knew.

But it didn't mean that Class 2-B didn't exist or had no students on par with Class 2-A.

Kendo still remembered the excitement on Vlad King's face when he had taken them to the Training Camp. She also remembered the disappointment on his face when people were only cheering for Luke and Todoroki, ignoring Monoma, without whom the former two couldn't have done much.

Yes.

Class 2-B students wanted to win the Battle Royale.

But, more than that, they wanted to show that Class 2-A students weren't without their caveats as well; they weren't infallible; and they weren't as close to becoming Pro Heroes as the people made them out to be.

That's why, at least until the laser boundaries penetrated the city's inner region, most of the Class 2-B students had decided to work together.

And now, it was her turn.

Seeing her chance, Kendo hesitated for a moment, but only for a moment.

There was no shame in depending upon teamwork. This was one of the greatest qualities UA tried to inculcate in its students, to begin with. And… how was it Class 2-B students' fault if Class 2-A students didn't get along?!

The group of four fighters had unknowingly come very close to each other.

Shishida and Sato grappled on one side, letting out beastly and mad growls.

Tetsutetsu and Kirishima had locked their fingers on the other side, both butting their heads repeatedly.

It was now or never!

The moment she left the door, Kendo broke out in a run.

With Sato and Kirishima's backs almost pressed against each other, the mere activation of her Big Fist Quirk near their faces would knock them out.

That thought brought a small smile to Kendo's face.

In the next moment, just as she stepped on the road, something hit her from the side.

As her ribs broke, Kendo was sent flying off her feet and struck the road with a thud, rolling a few times before coming to a stop… passing out.

Simultaneously, a muffled boom echoed across the city, reaching the four stunned boys.

Far into the distance, Momo looked away from the scope and blinked her eyes several times.

Then, she looked over her shoulder and saw the blurry laser boundary contract once more, reaching the spot where the several bridges began.

Momo nodded to herself and left her position, picking up her sniper.

It was time… to head deeper into the city.
