Mira's POV
The black car moved through the city like a silent shark, heading straight for the private airfield. I watched the world blur past my window, just a stream of colors and lights that didn't mean anything to me.
I am heading back to my country. Aethelgard. It was the home of the four founding families—Knight, Valerius, Rhode, and Ridge.
It's also the country where the Great War had been fought seventy years ago—a place soaked in blood. That war had forced the supernatural world into the messy alliances and deep hatreds we have today.
It was a place of old, heavy power and also the home of our worst enemies, the Shadowmeres.
The past week has been a total blur—a swing between disaster and a miracle. On one side, Dave is still a thorn that i need to completely get rid of. I need to find out if Eleanor is alright, if i can find out a way to help her avoid prophecy hanging on her neck.
