Keith's POV
My mind was a million miles away from this Villa in Aethelgard.
After the dull, grating experience at the company, a call came from our parents that evening to discuss. and after the agreement, me and my brother decided to leave for Aethelgard immediately.
Ten hours later, here we were. I knew this country by reputation only—a place of immense, ancient influence. Most of what I knew came from Damien's stories, and his rare glimpses of respect when he spoke of the founding families and their deep-rooted history.
When we'd finally told Damien about our… rediscovered lineage, he looked like he hit a goldmine. After some argument, he agreed to act as CEO without much fuss, though he sulked about the workload until I relented, telling him to hire people he can trust to help. Whoever he trusts, i can trust.
He'd lived centuries, far longer than my thirty-odd years. He knows the kind of ruthlessly competent people you needed in the dark corners of the business world.
