Chapter 425: Will of Fire, Save the World!
Two quests—
Two completely different fates.
"The world of Titans has already been corrupted. Its story is in chaos, its destiny unbound. Soon, it will fall and become a servant of the Corrupted World."
Fang Yi shook his head helplessly.
"To kill the Nine Intelligent Titans and destroy the giant walls of Paradis Island… is to sever the bloodline of the Titans entirely. The world's core will be shattered. The entire world will gradually collapse—eventually devoured by the Void."
This so-called destruction—meant the destruction of an entire world.
Everything would be cast into oblivion. Even the Corrupted World would be reduced to nothing within the Void.
That quest, at least, was relatively easy.
Jiraiya only needed to continue hunting Titans.
With each kill, his sealed power would gradually be released.
No one in this world could stop him.
But the salvation quest—
that required standing against the now-corrupted Will of the Titan World.
All the pollution within it would converge into one entity, manifesting a final boss that matched the rules of its world.
A boss equivalent to a Lv. 19 Gold-Tier Monster.
And since all corruption would be condensed into a single creature,
Jiraiya wouldn't be able to "snowball" his strength by unlocking more of his seal.
He would have to rely on only partially restored stats and skills.
Failure meant permanent death.
But if he succeeded—
the Titan world would be saved,
and all its pollution would be purified.
It was a much more difficult path.
That's why Fang Yi didn't force players to choose the salvation route.
He presented both options, letting them decide.
"Old man…"
Eren looked at Jiraiya in horror—he, too, had seen the quest notice.
At that moment, as the chosen of fate, Eren glimpsed fragments of the future.
This was a power granted by the Attack Titan—
the ability to inherit future memories through future inheritors.
And what he saw—was devastating.
"I become the one who destroys the world… The War of Heaven and Earth… The Rumbling… An unchangeable fate…"
A madness overtook him.
Compared to his mature self in the original timeline—hardened by years of training and battle—
this young Eren was still naive and emotionally fragile.
In the future,
he would become the world's greatest threat.
Commanding legions of Titans, he would set out to destroy humanity itself in a worldwide war.
He had once sworn to wipe out all Titans—
yet now discovered he himself was the catalyst for their rampage.
A twisted irony.
Visible black sludge emerged in the air,
coating Eren's body like bubbling liquid.
It wrapped around him.
This was the doing of the corrupted Titan World Will.
It meant one thing:
Jiraiya had chosen not to destroy this world—he had chosen to save it.
"If fate can't be changed… then let it all burn!"
Standing atop the wall, Eren's eyes went blank.
His gaze pierced the rooftops, landing on Mikasa and Armin, who were stuck outside the wall.
And his mother…?
If destiny was unchanged, she should be eaten by a Titan.
Even with the Reincarnation Game's interference, Shiganshina still fell.
What was he supposed to do?
"Let it all burn…"
The whisper echoed in his mind—tempting, guiding, leading him to darkness.
To the horror of the Garrison soldiers watching,
Eren's body expanded inside the black sludge.
White-hot steam exploded outward.
Two seconds later,
a massive black Titan, over a hundred meters tall, stood where Eren once had.
Its vacant eyes glared toward Jiraiya, roaring in rage.
"Did… did a human just turn into a Titan?!"
"What the hell is that?! Never seen a black Titan before. Is it here to kill Reiner's enemy?"
Hiding among the panicked crowd,
the inheritor of the Colossal Titan trembled.
Civilians only felt terror—
but he, a Titan Shifter, felt something deeper:
a primal submission, as if from the soul itself.
It was bizarre.
Even the Founding Titan didn't radiate such an oppressive aura.
Could this be… something older?
The legendary Titan of Ymir, the progenitor of all nine Titans?
"So strong… Is this the world's retaliation?"
The explosion from the polluted slime alone emitted an aura rivaling a Gold-Tier boss.
Jiraiya, still with most of his power sealed, was under immense pressure.
This manifestation of the Titan World's corruption—
placed in the shinobi world, would rival Uchiha Madara or Senju Hashirama.
And he, at best, was at the level of an aged Third Hokage.
How was he supposed to fight this?
"Destroy Wall Maria… shatter the royal capital… slay the Nine Titans… all to unlock more power?"
Jiraiya was under intense mental strain.
Every condition for releasing his seal required tremendous bloodshed and accelerated the world's destruction.
No wonder the quest was so hard.
You couldn't have both.
To save the world, he couldn't destroy it to unlock his strength.
But without unlocking it, how could he fight the black Titan?
"No choice. I'll have to unlock as much power as I can—without harming civilians."
Jiraiya was no idealist.
He knew there was no perfect solution.
Just like back then,
even for the sake of the Sannin's old friendship, he would not hesitate to say:
"If Tsunade ever betrays Konoha, I'll kill her myself."
The three walls were shields for humanity.
They had to remain standing.
So—
Jiraiya didn't wait for the black Titan to charge.
Instead, based on his earlier analysis,
he rushed to a civilian refuge within Shiganshina.
Summoning Jutsu – Gamabunta!
Poof!
White smoke billowed.
The massive toad dropped like a boulder, sword at its side.
A smoking pipe dangled from its mouth.
"Hmph? Jiraiya, where the hell did you summon me to this time?"
"No time—hold off the black Titan for me! I've got something to do!"
Jiraiya barked out the order.
Then brought his hands together.
He began to chant softly:
"Wind sigil… Flame sigil… Water sigil… Lightning sigil…"
Four colored runes spread across Gamabunta's back like an armored shell.
Gamabunta blinked in surprise.
"Whoa, Jiraiya, since when did you go soft? You gave me four elemental enchantments?"
This was a skill from the Seer class.
It captured stray elemental particles to foresee disasters or arm allies.
These enchantments could create small-scale natural disasters.
Because the skill consumed energy like a high-tier game item,
Jiraiya rarely used it at full power.
But now—
he maxed it out.
Gamabunta turned his head.
His massive frog eyes widened.
"You're crazy, Jiraiya… You provoked a Gold-Tier monster?!"
He sensed it clearly.
Jiraiya's presence was faint—weak from the seal.
Which meant…
he was the only one left to stop it.
"Hold it off for five minutes."
