While they regenerated with white steam, once their napes were scorched beyond repair, they collapsed and never got back up.
But in that moment, the Female Titan had already picked up her companion and was sprinting toward Wall Rose.

Jiraiya's face darkened.
He looked up.
The black Titan—originally similar in size to normal Titans—
was now absorbing the Colossal Titan's power.
Its form swelled. Muscles thickened. A transformation began.
It was evolving into the Black Colossal Titan.
The game interface flickered. Its name was taking on a dark-golden hue.
Jiraiya groaned internally.
"So killing Titans lets me unlock my power…
but also lets the Titan World recover their souls…
and feed them to the black Titan?"
The walls had been breached.
Civilians were dying underfoot.
But the Titan World showed no remorse.
Killing Titan Shifters, however, triggered an aggressive response.
"Has the Titan World completely given up on humanity?"
He looked at the soldiers still fighting to protect civilians.
At the desperate people, begging for life.
Jiraiya's heart ached.
"How tragic…"
"Eren—watch this!"
"I once accepted fate without resistance. I didn't even think about defying it."
"But not anymore."
"If humanity's destruction is this world's fate—
then I will break it myself!"
Whether Eren could hear or not,
Jiraiya let out a roaring laugh.
His Disaster Armor enveloped him once more.

he charged the black Titan head-on, fist clenched for impact.
