Chapter 257 - Haruno: “So, Yukino Has Already Stepped Into the World of Adults?!”

Chapter 25 – Haruno: "So, Yukino Has Already Stepped Into the World of Adults?!"

Yukinoshita Yukino, who had been sitting quietly on the sofa, turned toward the door when she saw Yukinoshita Akira enter. For a brief moment, a flicker of warmth lit up her eyes.

It was subtle, but unmistakable—she was happy to see him. A faint smile even touched her lips.

However, that smile froze the instant another figure appeared behind him.

Yukinoshita Haruno.

The change in Yukino's expression was immediate—her composure faltered, confusion and a trace of panic flashing across her face.

Haruno caught that reaction instantly. Her heart went cold.

Wait… don't tell me—something actually happened between them?

For years, she had guarded her "precious little cabbage" with utmost care. And now, after leaving home for just one night, this man had managed to plow the field?!

"How are you feeling now?" Akira asked calmly.

"Much better. There's still a bit of pain left, though."

"I see. That's good."

That short exchange was all it took to make Haruno's composure crack. Her mind spiraled.

A bit of pain?

Just a bit?!

What on earth did you two do last night?!

And what kind of tone is that supposed to be?!

Her imagination, already dangerously creative, began spinning out of control.

Could it be… her innocent little sister had actually been defiled by Yukinoshita Akira?

Unforgivable!

"Yukino! How could you?! That man is your Nee-san's fiancé!" Haruno snapped, her voice laced with outrage as she stormed forward.

The accusation wasn't directed at Yukino out of anger—no, it was squarely aimed at Akira, the supposed "villain" of this unspeakable tragedy.

"Nee-san, what are you even talking about?" Yukino asked, bewildered.

"Still denying it? I thought it was strange when you said you overslept this morning and hurt your leg. So this is the real reason, huh?"

"What are you implying, Nee-san?"

"Ah, my poor little sister… I never thought you'd be the first one to step into the world of adults—

and with my fiancé, no less! How cruel… how could you do this to me?"

Yukino finally understood. Her elder sister had completely—utterly—misunderstood the situation.

And not just a little. This was a world-class level of misunderstanding.

"What are you talking about, Nee-san?! And what do you even mean by 'the world of adults'?!"

"How dare you raise your voice at your sister after stealing her man?! My heart can't take this anymore! My life has lost all meaning!" Haruno wailed dramatically, pressing the back of her hand against her forehead like a tragic actress.

"Stop saying ridiculous things! Why would I ever be interested in him?!

And—and—what's with that talk about 'the world of adults'—?!"

By the end of her protest, Yukino's face had turned scarlet from ear to ear.

For someone as reserved and proper as her—a girl as pure and distant as a snow lotus—this conversation was beyond humiliating.

And the worst part? The man in question was standing right there.

Even Akira hadn't expected Haruno to spiral into this level of melodrama. Her reactions were beyond comprehension.

"You're still denying it, Yukino? Just look at yourself—you've got the face of a woman who's… grown up~" Haruno teased, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Enough! If you're going to keep spouting nonsense, just leave!"

"Oh no, Yukino's kicking me out! You just want to be alone with that disgusting man, don't you?! My life is suffering incarnate—!" Haruno cried, clutching her chest in mock despair.

Watching her theatrics, Akira could only raise an eyebrow.

This woman… was clearly enjoying herself now.

From his perspective, it was obvious—Haruno had initially misunderstood the situation, but now she was simply milking it to tease her sister.

On the sofa, Haruno threw herself dramatically onto Yukino, wrapping her arms around her and rubbing her cheek affectionately against Yukino's face.

"Nee-san! Let go of me! I—"

Thunk!

As Yukino struggled to free herself, her leg accidentally hit the corner of the table due to Haruno's careless movement.

Instantly, her expression twisted in pain. The color drained from her face.

"Are you alright?" Akira asked quickly, stepping forward and pulling Haruno away with a concerned tone.

"I'm fine…" Yukino shook her head softly. Her brows furrowed in pain, but her voice remained calm and composed.

"Yukino, what happened to you?" Haruno asked, the panic in her voice genuine now.

Her playful act shattered as soon as she saw her sister's face pale from pain.

A wave of guilt washed over her. The thought that she might have hurt Yukino—even by accident—was unbearable.

"I'm fine, Nee-san," Yukino assured her. She wasn't angry. She knew Haruno had only been joking, even if her humor had crossed several lines.

But Haruno's gaze drifted downward—to Yukino's leg.

And then, her eyes widened.

A large, dark bruise spread across Yukino's skin, deep and ugly, almost black in the center. It wasn't a normal bruise—blood had pooled beneath the surface.

"Yukino… what happened to your leg? Who did this to you?" Haruno's voice dropped, trembling with fury.

Her eyes sharpened, filled with an icy, murderous intent.

For all her teasing, she was still a sister who deeply loved her sibling.

To see Yukino wounded like this—and to realize it had happened without her knowledge—was more than she could stand.

It was both a failure and a betrayal of her role as the older sister.

Anger and guilt churned violently inside her.

"Enough," Akira said calmly. "The reason I called you here today is because there's something important we need to tell you."

"'We'...?" Haruno looked between the two of them. Her instincts flared again. Something had happened last night—something she hadn't been told.

Whatever it was, she could already tell it wouldn't be simple.

But she didn't care.

If it involved Yukino, she was prepared to face anything.

"Nee-san…" Yukino said softly.

"Alright," Haruno sighed, steadying her breath. "Tell me everything."

Her expression turned serious as she sat down opposite them, eyes never leaving Yukino's face.

Yukino hesitated. Her gaze flickered uncertainly, conflicted.

Part of her wanted to tell Haruno everything—yet another part feared it would drag her sister into a world she wasn't ready for.

But Chiba was no longer safe.

And with Haruno's social position, she attended numerous public events. If danger appeared at one of them…

She clenched her fists.

"Alright then…" Yukino began quietly, her voice trembling ever so slightly.

"The truth is—something happened last night…"
