Chapter 26 – No Name
Yukinoshita Akira took a deep breath, quietly organizing his thoughts, then began recounting in detail what had happened the previous night.
The parts he didn't know were filled in by Yukino, who sat quietly beside him.
The explanation lasted over half an hour before everything was finally laid bare.
During that time, Haruno's expression shifted countless times. It was hard for her to accept that this seemingly peaceful world... was hiding supernatural beings called "Demons."
What shook her even more was that her own little sister had nearly become one of their victims.
And the demon behind it all wasn't a stranger—it was someone Haruno herself had once completely "destroyed." A woman whose life, family, and future had been shattered by her own hands.
And yet now, that woman had returned from the depths of "hell"... solely to seek revenge on Yukino. And she had almost succeeded.
A chilling sense of dread and rage welled up in Haruno's chest.
After digesting the entire story, she looked sharply at Yukinoshita Akira.
There was no denying the gratitude she felt for him—for saving her little sister's life. But even so, something about him... didn't sit right.
She rubbed her temple, as if trying to dispel a headache. The world she had always believed to be rational and material... now revealed a hidden layer filled with darkness and uncertainty.
"So, Akira-chan... all of this. How exactly did you know about demons to begin with?"
Her voice held a distinct edge of suspicion.
Yukino blinked in confusion. Just moments ago, her sister had shared in her concern—so why was she now turning against Akira?
Yet Akira remained calm, completely unfazed by the pointed question.
He understood Haruno's intention clearly. As someone sharp and calculating, she would never accept a fantastical story at face value.
Indeed, from her perspective, the sudden appearance of a demon followed by Akira's timely arrival to save the day... was more than a little suspicious.
Haruno wasn't an ordinary woman. She was the heir to a prestigious family and an active player in the corporate world. She knew how to read between the lines.
And from her angle, the one who gained the most from all of this... was Akira. He had earned Yukino's emotional trust—and even Haruno's reluctant gratitude.
So it was only natural for her to question his intentions.
"Would you believe me if I told you... I've known about demons for a long time?" Akira said calmly.
"You've known... for a long time?"
"That's right. Back then, I thought it was all just myth. But now... that myth has proven to be real."
"That's just your claim. I have no reason to believe you."
Yukino glanced between them, unsure of what to say.
But Akira didn't falter. He spoke in the same collected tone.
"How interesting, Miss Haruno. Why would I need to make you believe me? Or perhaps... should I even care whether you do?"
"You...!"
"Believe it or not, it doesn't change anything for me."
He smiled and lightly shook his head. Explaining something unnecessary... was a waste of time.
Even if their marriage was technically a "contract" bound by system rules, real or not—he would still choose Yukino, the "Flower on the Mountain Peak," over Haruno, the fox who always wore a mask of smiles.
Haruno's gaze hardened, locking onto Akira with quiet intensity.
"…Fine. You win."
Eventually, all she could do was let out a long sigh and back down.
Like it or not, she had to admit: these so-called demons—even if barely described—were clearly not something regular humans could deal with.
And the only person who had defeated one... was Yukinoshita Akira.
When faced with threats to one's life, power, wealth, and social standing became meaningless. In the end, only strength truly mattered.
Akira offered a faint smile. He knew Haruno didn't fully trust him yet.
The moment she returned home, she would dig into everything herself. She'd search for all the information she could find about demons.
Someone like Haruno would never let go of control over her own life. That kind of vulnerability was unacceptable to her.
"Well then," Akira said, "The reason I called you here today... was to settle one last thing."
He pointed to the corner of the room—where a large package leaned against the wall.
Inside were blood-stained clothes and items related to last night's incident.
"Leave it to me. I'll take care of everything," Haruno replied confidently.
For the Yukinoshita family, covering up something like this wasn't particularly difficult.
"Good. Then I'll take my leave. Oh, and one more thing—could you help me order several high-powered ultraviolet lamps?"
"Ultraviolet?"
"Yes. Demons can't stand sunlight. The moment they're exposed to it, they turn to ash."
"Oh? That's good news. In that case, we could simulate sunlight around the perimeter as a defensive measure."
"If I were you, I wouldn't do that."
"…Why not?"
"Because among demons, there are some that are extraordinarily powerful. They possess supernatural abilities called Blood Demon Arts. The types and effects vary, but bypassing systems like that... would be child's play to them. And by installing such measures, wouldn't you just be announcing to them that you know they exist?"
"…I see. That makes sense."
Hearing her idea shot down so casually, Haruno looked visibly irritated.
Moments later, Akira stood up and made for the door. He had no intention of staying longer than necessary.
Behind him, Yukino remained seated on the sofa, watching his back as he walked away. Her lips parted slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end... she stayed silent.
When he arrived home, Akira tossed his Sobu High uniform and bag onto the couch.
He opened the side pocket of his carrying case—and inside, a plain Murata katana gleamed under the light.
Shff—
As he unsheathed the blade, a sharp, silvery glint cut through the air.
"Until I get my Nichirin Blade... this Murata Katana will be my weapon."
He then changed into looser clothes and began his training.
Yes, today was a time for practice—or more accurately, cultivation.
Unlike in other worlds, he wasn't training magic or chakra here—but the way of the sword. Honing his body and refining his techniques.
Step—
Thanks to the legacy of Tsugikuni Yoriichi, even though he hadn't fully inherited the Breathing Techniques or combat forms yet, he could still utilize the Busujima style—something he had secretly learned from Saeko Busujima.
With his talent Swordmastery Divine Path, wielding a sword was as natural to him as breathing.
Within just five minutes, he had entered a deep meditative state.
His body flowed effortlessly across the spacious living room, moving with such speed and precision that afterimages trailed behind him.
Sword God + Sword Heart = An Unmatched Monster.
Slash—!
Crack!
In one final sweeping strike, a wave of sword force sliced through the air—cleaving a wooden table clean in half.
Akira slowly emerged from his trance, as if waking from a vivid dream.
[Ding!]
[You have gained 0.8% Heritage Progress!]
Zing—
A faint tremor ran through his body. Muscles tightened. Power surged. His understanding of the sword deepened dramatically.

When he saw the heritage progress jump to 1%, Akira was dumbfounded.
Just one session of sword training… and he gained 0.8%?
