Chapter 161 - Into the Demon Realm

(A/N: Bonus Chapter! Enjoy :)

"He really escaped inside," Karnel murmured as he stood at the entrance of the shrinking black hole.

Black had leaped into the dimensional rift the moment he finished his threat. It was too late for Karnel to stop him.

Recalling Black's twisted expression when he promised to hunt down and kill all humans on Earth, Karnel felt a surge of deadly intent course through his veins. "Since you made that threat, I can't let you go. What does it matter if you've entered some unknown world through that black hole?"

"You must die!" Karnel's eyes blazed with determination as his figure transformed into crimson light and flashed into the black hole's depths.

In the dark, demonic world beyond the portal, there were no planets, only a vast stretch of cursed land beneath their feet, corrupted by malevolent energy and transformed into charred wasteland. The ground was carpeted with various black plants, alongside grotesque monsters sporting midnight-black bodies and bloodthirsty crimson eyes that glowed like hellish beacons.

Black, who had fled to this realm, was currently surveying his surroundings with growing unease. Even he had no idea what kind of world this was.

"You worthless trash," he snarled, clutching his severed wrist. "You dared to cut off my hand! I must return to the Tenth Universe's Sacred World of the Kai first. Damn Saiyan, when I recover from my injuries, I'll definitely annihilate the entire Earth where you came from!"

Black's figure erupted in black flames as he soared high into the starless sky at tremendous speed, desperately trying to determine his location in this alien dimension.

Not long after Black departed, a dark portal materialized, and Karnel emerged from the interdimensional passage.

"Those transparent threads within the black hole..." Karnel mused, his scientific mind still processing what he'd observed. "They contained mysteries as profound as the power of time itself, completely invisible to normal perception. If only I could have studied them longer..."

The passage through the black hole hadn't been lengthy, it took only moments to transport travelers to this world. During his brief journey, Karnel had glimpsed countless transparent filaments that seemed to contain fundamental truths about reality itself. But he'd only managed two quick observations before the passage delivered him here.

"Damn," Karnel sighed in disappointment, then began examining this strange dimensional realm.

"He's running remarkably fast, already covered tens of thousands of miles in one burst." Karnel sensed the energy signature growing more distant and felt his murderous intent intensify.

"This world is... peculiar," he observed, taking in his surroundings. "The sky is pitch black without a single star, and both ground and atmosphere are saturated with malevolent energy. This place shouldn't belong to our universe, after all, no planet this thoroughly evil has ever existed in the known cosmos."

Karnel launched himself skyward, but even at great altitude, the heavens remained an endless void. No other celestial bodies were visible anywhere. There was only the endless corrupted landmass below, this world was truly massive.

Following the energy trail burned into his consciousness, Karnel flew at high speed through the dark sky, observing the bizarre flora and fauna scattered across the wasteland beneath him.

"No human presence... though it seems there are other inhabitants. I wonder what the native creatures of this realm look like." After pursuing his quarry for some time without detecting any human life signatures, Karnel activated his soul-wave sensing ability. Immediately, countless... countless soul signatures flooded his awareness.

"However," he muttered grimly, "the most urgent task is eliminating this threat. I can't allow him to escape!"

Karnel's figure accelerated dramatically, increasing his speed several-fold as he rushed toward Black's position not far ahead.

After searching this continent extensively, Black still couldn't determine his location. His severed hand continued to throb with agonizing pain, making him increasingly irritable. He was in the middle of venting his frustration with a string of curses when his expression suddenly shifted, a trace of panic flashing in his eyes.

"This energy signature... that Saiyan is pursuing me! Curse it all!"

Whoosh!

Black didn't dare remain stationary. He launched himself forward at maximum velocity, desperately trying to shake off Karnel's relentless pursuit.

"Run? Since you enjoy running so much, I'll let you run to your heart's content!" Sensing Black's energy signature spike with renewed panic, Karnel's speed suddenly increased. His voice carried a playful, almost predatory tone as he deliberately held back, choosing to maintain a steady distance rather than immediately closing the gap.

In the sky above the Demon Star, an intense high-speed chase was unfolding. While others might race vehicles, these two figures, one wreathed in black flames, the other trailing crimson energy, were racing for their very lives!

"When did outsiders arrive on the Demon Star? And the auras they're emanating are so terrifying... How is this possible? How could beings from other dimensions reach this sealed realm?" Carrick II, supreme ruler of the Demon Star, was thoroughly shaken by these two overwhelming energy signatures.

"Oh no, they're flying directly toward our territory..." Carrick II sensed the two auras rapidly approaching his domain and quickly scrambled to find a shadowy corner to hide in. He couldn't afford to offend either of these powerhouses, killing him would be easier than crushing an insect for beings of their caliber.

Karnel maintained a distance of roughly one thousand meters behind Black, watching the figure fleeing in obvious panic ahead of him. He called out with cold amusement: "How does it feel for a great Supreme Kai to be reduced to running in terror from the so-called 'lowly life' you despise so much?"

Black suddenly stopped, his body freezing mid-flight as his chest heaved violently with exhaustion. It wasn't that he didn't want to continue running, his strength had been severely depleted by their fierce battle and the prolonged high-speed flight. If he kept fleeing like this, he'd eventually collapse from exhaustion anyway. Better to make a final stand while he still had enough power to fight!

"That's right," Karnel also came to a halt, speaking with mock solemnity. "Running away isn't what true warriors do, let alone someone of your supposed divine status. Come and fight me directly. I'll grant you a beautiful death that won't damage your dignity as a Supreme Kai!"

A beautiful death without damaging my dignity?

Black was so enraged by these words that he clenched his remaining fist tightly, his entire body trembling involuntarily with fury.

After a moment of visible struggle, Black's trembling subsided. He turned around and spoke in a measured tone: "Saiyan, you are... impressive. You've transcended the limitations of mortal existence through your own efforts and achieved true divinity. Your strength even surpasses that of most Gods of Destruction. I wonder, would you be interested in joining my Tenth Universe to assume the position of Supreme Kai?"

Karnel raised an eyebrow in genuine surprise. Had this deranged deity finally lost his mind completely? Feigning intense interest, he asked: "But isn't there only one Supreme Kai per universe? Do you even have the authority to appoint another?"
