Izumi stared in disbelief: "How could this happen…?"
Izumi turned to flee, but Obito suddenly flung chains that ensnared her.
With a violent yank, Obito sent Izumi crashing to the ground.
Obito drew the ninja blade from his waist and advanced toward Izumi.
Tears streamed down Izumi's face as she desperately watched the horrifying scene unfold.
Itachi… save me!
Just as Obito was about to strike the fatal blow, a hand suddenly grabbed his wrist mid-motion.
Itachi stood there, both eyes blazing with Mangekyo Sharingan, his gaze locked coldly on Obito.
"Itachi… Itachi! He's the enemy!"
Izumi gasped in shock at the sight of him, then anxiously warned Itachi.
Itachi didn't even glance at Izumi. His voice was icy as he spoke to Obito:
"You swore you wouldn't lay a hand on anyone not on that list!"
Obito shrugged. "She attacked me first. Since the two of you know each other… I'll spare her today."
Staring in disbelief at both Itachi and Obito, Izumi could hardly believe they were working together.
"Why?! Itachi, why are you doing this?!"
Still silent, Itachi turned toward Izumi and cast a genjutsu, instantly rendering her unconscious.
Before passing out, Izumi saw Itachi's lips move slightly—it looked like he said something—but before she could make it out, darkness overtook her.
Glancing sideways at Obito, Itachi said coolly, "I warned you—if you did anything beyond our agreement, I would expose your identity. There won't be a next time."
Without another word, Itachi vanished from sight.
Obito snorted disdainfully: "Such an arrogant guy."
Obito Uchiha turned away from the unconscious Izumi Uchiha and activated Kamui, vanishing into another dimension as he set out in search of his next target.
By now, both the Anbu and Root Ninja had reached the outskirts of the Uchiha Family Estate.
While some Root Ninja were intercepted by the Anbu, others had already slipped into the Uchiha Family Estate, intent on retrieving Sharingan eyes.
However, the Root Ninja could only attempt to retrieve Sharingan eyes from Uchiha clan members who had been slain by Itachi Uchiha.
