I went to drop my pokemon to the therapist. She insisted on pokemon and therapist having alone time. I know it sounds similar to the anime plot of villains stealing pokemon but...
She is a reputed therapist who ensures the stable mental health of orange league gym leaders and champion's pokemon. Plus trainers did not hand there pokeball. Only left there pokemon there.
Plus pokeball have a function of retrieving pokemon back after 24 hours so... Yeah I trust them very much. Also I had informed mewoth and magikarp before hand and also assured them of there safety by explaining the pokeball function. So yeah...
I was traveling around town with a mask and a hat on, So no one really recognized me. But everyone was talking about Kanto champion being present in there island. Leagues in pokemon world were after all a very huge thing.
Contenders participating in a league were after all ppotential future defence of the region and humanity in general. After all pokemon like arceus, Giratina, Dialga etc when they go into rage disaster occurs.
So that's why when I suggested splitting the league though the board of directors did protest but it was finally agreed on as this would mean more defenders for the league. Plus the situation between Kanto and Jhoto natives were not that good either because of shared league.
So yeah...
I was walking around when I saw a trainer challenging anyone he could see for a battle. He probably is a new trainer who just got his starter or something.
"I have been trainer for a month already. Alright. Stop treating me like a kid and just battle already." He said. Well...
I was about to walk past when he turned and pointed to me.
"You, double battle with me." He said. I just nodded at that.
We went to battle ground in the pokemon centre.
"Get ready to face the future champion of Kanto lil girl. I, Rex am gonna show you what true defeat looks like" He said boastingly. 'Lil girl', seriously. How lame. Plus I am surely older than him by one sub year.
"Go Houndour, Pikachu."

"Go Oshuwott, Togepie." I said.
[Oshuwott-psudo champion-lvl 17]

A few kids gathered to watch. They all whispered that Rex had been boasting for weeks, claiming no one at this level could ever beat him.
Rex snapped immediately.
Rex:
"Pikachu, Thunder Shock! Houndour, Ember! Burn them FAST!"
Pikachu fired a quick bolt of electricity while Houndour launched a stream of sparks, both attacks crossing mid-air toward Mina's side.
Regina raised a hand, voice steady.
Regina:
"Oshawott, Water Gun angled up. Togepi, Protect."
Togepi raised her hand, forming a shimmering barrier.
Oshawott fired its Water Gun upward, the water splashing against the descending Ember, turning the flames into harmless steam.
The Thunder Shock hit Protect and fizzled out with a sad crackle.
Rex blinked.
Already thrown off.
ROUND TWO — STRATEGY STARTS TO SHOW
Rex:
"Ugh—Fine! Pikachu! Quick Attack! Houndour! Bite the egg thing!"
Pikachu dashed like lightning.
Houndour lunged, jaws wide.
Regina:
"Oshawott, Razor Shell intercept Pikachu. Togepi, Dazzling gleam on Houndour."
Oshawott drew its shell, surrounded by water energy. It clashed with Pikachu mid-dash—
CLANG!
The Quick Attack stopped dead.
At the same moment, a large ammount of fairy energy came from togepie.
Houndour froze mid-bite and scrambled to dodge but couldn't. The attack hit him hard.
Rex stared, mouth halfway open.
Regina didn't raise her voice. She didn't need to.
Regina:
"Togepi, Nasty Plot, Extrasensory. Oshawott, Aqua Jet."
Togepi giggled sweetly—then dark aura swirled around it as its special attack skyrocketed. Her special attack being raised by two stage each time. Then Togepi's eyes glowed. A psychic wave rippled outward.
Pikachu froze, he was lifted off the ground, and slammed down hard on his back. He squeaked in pain.
Oshawott burst forward in a stream of water and rammed Houndour before it could recover. Houndour tumbled across the dirt.
Rex stomped his foot.
Rex:
"Pikachu! Get UP! Houndour! Flamethrower!"
But their coordination was gone.
Their confidence shaken.
Flamethrower erupted—
Mina:
"Oshawott, parry with Water Gun. Togepi… Ancient Power."
A glowing boulder formed above Togepi.
It looked too cute to be dangerous.
But for Houndour and Pikachu. It wasn't looking cute. Not one bit.
The Water Gun neutralized the Flamethrower instantly.
Then Ancient Power launched, smashing into both opposing Pokémon with a shockwave that kicked up dust.
Rex shielded his face.
When the dust settled—
Houndour and Pikachu were barely standing.
Rex tried one last desperate call.
Rex:
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt—DO IT! Houndour, ANYTHING!"
Pikachu sparked weakly.
Houndour wheezed flames.
Regina nodded once.
Regina:
"Togepi, Extrasensory. Oshawott, Aqua Jet finish."
CRASH.
Both Houndour and Pikachu collapsed.
Battle over.
The end.
WINNER: OSHAWOTT & TOGEPI
Rex swallowed hard, face pale, arrogance shattered. He just handed my win money quietly and ran away. Guess his pride got badly hurt huh.
