Cherreads

Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

She was drowned in the words filling her books like in a sea of vast horizon.

Her eyes swifting from up and down scruting each line and phrases meticulously.

Her hand moved with finess, covering the blank pages carefully exposed on her pillows with daring and instructive indication for herself.

It was a gracious and yet explicitly sorrowful scene.

The room that conserved the scent of fresh inks and wooden furnitures-

was giving off an almost sleeping and fever dream like atmosphere.

It seemed to move and dance along with every gestures of hers.

...

This weekend was gonna be unforgettable, they'll be snucking out of school to investigate the weird rumors and finally clearing their suspicions as well as probably finalizing their plan of becoming top students and that each of them may atleast be occupying first place in their respective disciplines personal and academic by the end of the year.

This was a bold move and a bold plan of their part but..lately they've been boosted with sudden excess of confidence that it was no problem for them.

They knew that if they truly wished to they could pull it off perfectly without much hardship.

..

As for Kayven,he's only care for now was the girl whose eyes reflected moonlight.

Taken by an impertinent desiring feeling,he stood and walked toward his desk..

grabbed a sketchbook and the most sharpened charcoal pencil of his set.

He then turned back and walked toward his bed,sat on it with his legs crossed and started to slowly trace pale and gradualy darkened lines and shapes on the virgin blank page.

Sillias noticed him from the corner of her eyes.she did not say a thing and kept her mouth shut.

...

With time passing the weekend was finally here.

The all wore mid branded clothes that they would be comfortable in and went to the cornered Residential street of Glise-Bolton.

There they walked on tiptoe, trying to find any clues on the 'Nondead' all while staying incognito.

..

"Well everything looks pretty normal to me-"suggested Martin.

'Martin Klaude Greensouth' from the Greensouth family..A ducal family from the south whose purpose here was still a real mystery among the whole society itself.

Noone ever asked him and Noone planned to.

After all almost everyone owned little secrets with reasonable reasons to be kept hidden behind..in this class.

...

Their hands and eyes wandered on the street whose walls told stories better than people ever could.

A path which was once animated with life, laughter and screams exhibiting all kind of thought and emotion was now as silent as a cemetery.

But wasn't it normal? It was a proof of the passage of time.

A proof that things changed and somehow everything stayed the same.

"Nothing unsual with that..just the way of life."sighed sillias under her cold breath.

...

Sillias wanted to back down..she thought maybe there was nothing here..nothing for them to find here...but..retracted the thought when the sudden noise of something,a sound of loud metal and weirdly rustling collapsing and crimping resounded in her head going from one ears to the other one and budging in everyone timpants.

Their head turned and something completely unhinged took place.

The shadows of something not present and yet definitely existing and moving quite as fast as light were on the side of those walls that the sun doesn't get to.

They were darker than shadow itself and so clearly visible.

..

They stood there in astonishment, eyes eqarquillated as no fear..but rather doubtness surfaced.

For them who thought they became more confident as of recently, this was definitely hitting hard.

..

With no time to think they immediately went on defensive mode and moved their immobilized fist at their torso level.

Their crystals shone throughout their pockets.

The thing scenting something.. moved like a flash of light and for Gods only to knows where, disappeared out of thin air.

"Atleast we're fixed."smirked out Kayven with his arms crossed.

"Not so sure.."Thought the others collectively in a disagreeing tone.

....-

Back to the dorms, then following the next day.

The image of that day was stuck in their mind like a bugs scratching against them.

So now they were sure, that things was somehow near or farther related to the 'Crystals Nondead'.

'Crystals Nondead'was what they agreed on calling them starting from yesterday.

"Alright the sport festival is what we should be focused on now..I feel like this whole thing with the crystals will just reveal itself to us when time comes...for now..there are way more important things."adviced sillias to herself.

...

When the bell rang announcing that they had now free time to spare, sillias hurried herself to the door blocking the entrance.

After being sure that none of her classmates had left and they were all present..she quietly told the others to follow her.

....

Now they were on the training ground and some of them holded on Ebonyx wood made Archers and iron ashed carved arrows pointed toward red and white targets.

Some of them were also holding spears and swords made of gold and steel and added carved special gemstones.

It was with sneaky fast moves demanding a lot of effort and attention and staying on a straight thinking mind that they all trained.

By the time they were done they were covered in sweats and dusk, had calluses on their hands palms and sunburns all other the visible part of their exhausted and tired out bodies.

But it was all worth it for them.No matter what the most important thing was to play it cool.

...

Their hardworking paid off as their bodies growned endurance and strength..

Though Still not enough to beat the crystals Nondead by themselves in one hit..it was still a great improvement.

At the same time a particular group of students passing by who also happened to be members of those who actively took part in badmouthing them happened to pass by in the most hazardous way possible.

"Do you see them..."they murmured among themselves in a low tone trying to be not too loud.

...

"Snakes seems to be of outing."sighed out Divion.

To his words the group flinched and exhibited deconcerting expression.

"Cowards-

Can affort to spit behind us but not to our own faces."yapped out Catalina in a nagging tone with a light but still intense furry in her eyes.

"Just like a dragon."Thought Sillias, chuckling on the comparison.

Just then a weird tingling feeling rose inside in her..a feeling of being observed.

She turned her head to the tower highest peak of the school and folded her eyes as best as she could...but..Alas..it ached her occulars more than actually helping see clearly.

It didn't mean she was gonna let it pass though..

"I think I have an an idea of where we could have lunch next."she smirked while rubbing her cheeks, trying to clean off the specks of dust bothering her sight.
