Chapter 264 - 264 The True Lord Who Alters the Land

"Annoying! You insolent mortal!"

Enel, enraged and humiliated, swung his hand toward Sherwin, unleashing a "Divine Judgment".

But Sherwin, who had already been prepared, swiftly replaced the small sword-type rubber shield in his hand with a lance-type rubber shield, covering his entire body tightly behind it.

When the lightning finally faded, Sherwin turned his large shield to inspect it. The rubber surface was completely intact — it looked like Enel Divine Judgment hadn't exceeded fifty million volts.

"What the deal with that shield of yours?!"

Compared to being helpless against Klee Meow, who was also a Logia user, Enel seemed far more concerned about Sherwin shield — one that could not only strike him but also withstand lightning.

Because the existence of that shield meant his powers were no longer "invincible," something utterly unacceptable for a self-proclaimed "god."

Sherwin, however, only grinned at him, showing two neat rows of white teeth. "Why don't you guess?"

"You bastard!"

Furious, Enel prepared to strike again — but just then, a Flying Wyvern wreathed in golden flames dove straight down from the sky.

Crackle!

Though his fury had momentarily disrupted his Observation Haki, lightning natural speed advantage was overwhelming.

Before the Golden Rathalos claws could seize him, Enel had already turned into a flash of lightning, narrowly evading the strike.

Even so, he didn't escape unscathed. When he reformed, a patch of skin on his left shoulder was bright red — as though it had been scorched by heat.

It puzzled Sherwin — Enel could heat metal through electrical smelting, yet he could still be burned by flame.

The logic of Devil Fruits was as baffling as ever to someone from Earth like him.

"Don't think that just because you've eaten a Logia-type Fruit, you can offend a god!" Enel roared.

"I'll show you — even among Logias, there are levels! Since ancient times, lightning has always been what humans feared most! That why only I, who command thunder, can be called a God!"

"Klee doesn't understand what you're talking about, nya~"

(=ω=)

Little Plush scratched its head in confusion. "But Klee Meow can use Lightning Style too, nya~"

As soon as she finished, crackling sparks of electricity danced over Klee Meow body.

"See? Klee wasn't lying, right? And everyone knows this move, nya!"

Little Plush shoved its paws on its hips and, proud as punch, stuck its chin up to show off at Enel.

This time the shock Enel felt was no less than when Sherwin had used the rubber shield to block his lightning.

Although he could sense that the current on Klee Meow wasn't very strong, to Enel it looked like a bunch of mortals (cats) were usurping the authority that belonged to him as a god.

"I will wipe out every one of you who dares steal a god power — not a single one will remain! Two hundred million volts — Thunder God!"

Enel unleashed a torrent of lightning that wrapped his body. He elementalized, fusing himself with the lightning to form a gigantic Thunder God avatar.

But this time Klee Meow didn't mirror him with a Fire God form. Instead, she pulled a bunch of bomb materials from the little backpack on her back and fed them into the Golden Rathalos body.

"Go! C2·Golden Rathalos, nya!"

Little Plush waved its paw and guided the Golden Rathalos to pounce again at Enel in his thunder-god form.

"Pitiful flames! I'll put them out! Divine Judgment!"

A thunder pillar, thicker and far more powerful than before, shot toward the Golden Rathalos, piercing a massive hole straight through its body.

Yet, as an elemental summon, the Golden Rathalos showed no reaction at all — it simply continued its charge straight at Enel.

Enel extended his hands, both formed entirely of lightning, and seized the wyvern wings in a crushing grip.

In turn, the Golden Rathalos clamped its claws tightly onto the Thunder God shoulders.

Just as Enel was about to rip it apart — just like the Rathalos had torn the Thunder Dragon before — his Observation Haki suddenly flared, warning him of imminent danger…

"D-Damn it!"

But by then, it was too late to escape. The Golden Rathalos held him fast, folding its wings in to wrap both itself and the thunder-god-shaped Enel tightly together.

"Art is an explosion, nya!"

"BOOM——!!!"

A searing wave of golden fire erupted with the explosion, devouring everything around it.

Giant trees and rocky cliffs alike were reduced to ash under the terrifying blast.

Even trees outside the direct blast zone were torn from the ground by the violent shockwave.

Countless stones and splintered trunks were hurled in all directions, sending the animals of the Sky Island fleeing in panic.

Even the Shandians and God soldiers, who had been fighting elsewhere, paused instinctively.

They looked toward the distant explosion, uncertainty and fear written on their faces.

As for Sherwin — who had been watching from the sidelines — he had already sensed danger and slipped back aboard the Dodo Advance, steering it into Legiana form to retreat far away from the blast zone.

When the smoke and dust finally began to clear, Sherwin and his companions in the sky could at last see the aftermath of the explosion—

The dense forest that had once completely blocked out the sky was now torn open by Klee Meow explosion, leaving behind a barren circular patch of scorched earth.

Around the edges of that charred ground lay a scene of utter devastation — nearby trees had been blasted outward in all directions, radiating from the crater center.

From above, it looked as though a massive flower had bloomed in the middle of the forest on the Island of God.

However, precisely because the explosion was so intense, Klee Meow flames, after igniting some nearby trees, were quickly extinguished by the pressure of the wind.

As a result, no forest fire broke out — an unexpected bit of good fortune amid the chaos.

As for Enel, who had been caught at the very center of the blast, he wasn't taken out that easily.

After all, while Klee Meow explosion had tremendous power, it didn't contain Armament Haki or fragments of seastone. For a Logia-type user like Enel, it wasn't enough to be fatal.

Though his form had been blown apart, once the explosion subsided, the scattered arcs of lightning quickly gathered from all directions, reforming Enel body.

Only now, Enel looked far more disheveled — his clothes were tattered and scorched, his golden staff and accessories were blown away to who-knows-where, and the ring of drums behind his back had been reduced to a warped iron hoop.

"Damn it, you bastard! Don't think you can defeat me like this!" Enel roared furiously.

"I am God! How could I possibly lose to a cat?! Get out here right now! I'll prove to you that the power of lightning is the true divine power — your flames are nothing in comparison!"

Clearly, Enel was too enraged to maintain his Observation Haki, so he didn't realize that Klee Meow, that little fool, had blown herself away in the blast as well.

"That silly kitten flew way too far. She already beyond my sensing range, meow," Hua Mei Meow said helplessly, shaking her head.

Fortunately, Sherwin still had the Hunter Notebook, which allowed him to check the positions of his Felyne companions.

Opening the map page to take a look, he saw Klee Meow little cat-head icon darting around aimlessly in an unexplored area of the Sky Island — like a headless fly. Knowing that little plush doll personality…

She was most likely lost somewhere in the forest.

The next part wasn't hard to guess — Klee Meow, lost as usual, would probably stumble upon a pile of treasure and bomb-making materials.

And on the Island of God, anything that could be called a "treasure" was most likely the gold of Shandora — including the Golden Bell itself.

When the Dodo Advance took off, they soon noticed that the direction where Klee Meow had landed coincided with the path of that giant beanstalk, which indirectly confirmed Sherwin guess.

"You guys head toward that beanstalk and look for Klee. She and Shandora should both be in that direction," Sherwin said, pointing at the massive vine that pierced through several layers of clouds in the distance.

"As for the guy down there who thinks he God — I'll handle him."

Leaping down from the Dodo Advance, Sherwin drew his Rubber Shield and his Snow Walk, landing in front of the still-raving Enel.

"Klee doesn't have time to keep fighting you right now, so let me start round two instead."
