"So what did she want?" Jade asks when Noel gets home.
Even several hours later, Noel still feels frayed, his stomach knotted with anxiety, and the skin around his thumb is actively bleeding after he chewed it the whole way back to the apartment. Shaking his head, he makes for the first floor bathroom. "You were right," he tells Jade over his shoulder as Jade trails him inside. "She wanted to hear about what happened in Solis."
Jade leans against the doorframe, watching Noel take the large first aid kit from the cabinet beside the sink. The kit isn't really for Jade's benefit, since he heals too quickly to make most basic first aid worth the hassle, but he keeps the kit around for the civilian employees who work around the apartment, and now for Noel as well. "What did you tell her?"
"The truth?" Noel digs out a box of bandaids. He doesn't normally bother with the little wounds on his fingers, but this one is pretty deep. "Minus the…you know."
"Uh-huh."
