In the place where he was, everything was empty, but since he already knew that place very well, Enrico was quite calm even with a certain irritation showing on his face.
"Why are you so irritated?"
A very irritating voice with a hint of amusement came from some distance in front of him; that damned Panther, as always, had an amused look on his face.
"Of course I'm irritated, I now know everything about you but even so you don't release anything for me to remember when I'm in the real world."
"If I released your memories, I'd risk giving you more time to plan my elimination."
"For me, actually, without my memories I have even more reasons to try to get rid of you."
'But without memories, you don't even know where to start.'
Closing his eyes, Enrico as always entered the void behind him, deciding to ignore his alter ego; his main reason for staying here was to search for the original.
"This place is literally limitless, it'll be very difficult to find him."
"Even so, if I find him it could be very useful, the things he learned in the true dungeon."
"Or a disaster."
Knowing those words were true, Enrico had already made a plan during these two years in case his meeting with the original went wrong. Leaving the Panther behind, he walked with his eyes closed for a long time.
'How difficult—'
Feeling something in front of him, Enrico sensed his own presence; sighing, he extended his hand and touched a ball of golden light, already knowing what it was.
"Looks like I didn't find him again." Feeling the place change, he opened his eyes and saw he was now in the house where Enrico lived alone. This place was the original's memories, which he was receiving in a complete form. Realizing over the past two years that the original's memories were scattered through places in this void, he began searching for them too.
"What memory will I see now?"
These memories started appearing some time after the original's soul returned to the body. Entering the house, he noticed the place was not as luxurious as the Solcren Ferreira house.
"Makes sense since this place doesn't even have proper maids."
The house was small compared to the main house, looking like a commoner's house due to its size; for a child living alone, it was a big place.
"If I had a house like this in my childhood I would've been really happy… maybe I can return to it when I go back to the Solcren Ferreira?"
It would be interesting and good for him to have a place to rest after graduating from the academy. His eyes moved to a table where the original Enrico was eating a cake alone; in his gaze there was a deep hatred and sadness rooted inside him.
"Looks like today is his birthday."
Moving forward, he sat in front of him; by his age he must be around eleven now. The possibility that he spent most of his birthdays alone was high.
"I don't care anymore."
To Enrico's surprise, the original began smashing the cake and throwing what remained at the wall in anger. He started hitting the furniture like a spoiled child; it was very possible he had bought that cake himself.
'Even if he bought it, this is still a waste.'
"This pain doesn't compare to ours, does it?"
Hearing that damned Panther's voice, Enrico made a displeased expression; great, now he had to watch these memories with an annoying person.
"The way he acts isn't pathetic—"
"Honestly, you're irritating."
Seeing the original vent his fury on the furniture with small tears falling from his eyes, Enrico placed his hand on his cheek, just observing.
'Since he has money, he must have bought more.'
"For me it doesn't matter if his pain is smaller than mine; everyone has their own pain and honestly whether it's bigger or not is irrelevant."
"That's because you don't care about your past."
The Panther climbed onto the chair and began observing with a disdainful smile.
"For this simple reason it seems he never celebrated his birthday again."
"I don't celebrate mine either."
"That's because you're used to not celebrating."
When he was younger he didn't even know what a birthday was; he only discovered people celebrated them when he passed by a house and saw a party happening. Even though he wanted one, he never cared because, to be honest, he preferred making money for his parents just as they ordered.
"As I said, it doesn't matter if his reasons for not wanting a birthday are smaller than mine; for me everyone acts the way they want with their pain, as long as they take responsibility afterward."
Noticing that the memory had ended as everything froze, he began to fade; it was time for him to wake up for his training.
"You're quite insensitive with yourself."
"And you're very irritating."
Giving one last look at the Panther, he saw his amused smile turn into a satisfied smile; it seemed he liked his attitude regarding how he dealt with himself.
"That's right, this is how an empty being should be."
With the Panther's final words, Enrico woke up in his bed as always without the memories of his communication with his alter ego, but with the original Enrico's memories.
'Why do I have to get these memories now? It could've been when I reincarnated, it would've been easier to talk to his family.'
Getting up, he noticed the girls weren't in the bed. Lately they seemed to have entered an even bigger war among themselves than usual.
'Where could they be? Did they find out and catch Yumeha?'
As he got out of bed he heard a noise behind the door, which opened forcefully. His seven future wives threw confetti on him.
"You—"
"Happy birthday."
Surprised, Enrico looked at the date and understood why he had that dream today even though the other birthday dates of the previous years had passed.
'So that was why.'
