Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Territory Fusion

"Successfully chosen profession, 'Hunter', initial equipment has been issued."

"Personal territory has been generated successfully."

System prompt ends.

In the sky tens of thousands of meters high up, a floating square block of earth with dimensions of 1 meter by 1 meter by 1 meter suddenly appeared.

Han Xing stood on top of it, as if standing on grass, but the high elevation made his legs weak.

A faded wooden bow had somehow appeared in his hands, and a quiver now hung at his waist with 10 wooden arrows inside.

Information about the items appeared before him.

[Wooden Longbow (White): Quality - Rough, Attack Power 6~8, Attached Effect - None.]

[Note: A weapon made from oak and animal sinew, fully drawn it can damage standard 1-Star level creatures.]

[Arrow *10 (White): Quality - Rough, Attack Power 1~2, Attached Effect - None.]

[Note: Arrows made by sharpening sticks.]

Han Xing tightly grasped the longbow in his hands, feeling a bit of confidence now that he had a weapon.

Looking around, he noticed that many clouds of various sizes and colors had appeared in the nearby sky.

Some clouds were as large as a mountain range, while others were only the size of a table, similar to Han Xing's territory.

He knew the rules of the game: within these clouds lay hidden sky islands from which players must acquire all resources, including food and drinking water, in the early stages.

He needed to explore other sky islands for resources as soon as possible, otherwise, he would soon die of thirst or hunger.

Han Xing started to move the block beneath his feet forward.

After about ten minutes, Han Xing's lips had become somewhat dry.

Though the clouds seemed close, the actual distance was far, and with the speed of this basic block, the fastest he could go was about 10 kilometers per hour, which translates to less than 3 meters per second in movement speed.

While the sky island's speed would increase with level advancement, right now it was still very slow.

Another ten minutes passed before Han Xing managed to guide his territory close to a cloud that appeared small, with electricity sparking around it. The system prompt sounded: "Inside is a cluster of active Thunder Elemental Power. Enter?"

Thunder Elemental Power? Are there monsters inside?

After a moment's consideration, Han Xing decided to pass up the opportunity.

After all, this was not a mobile game where you could revive after dying. The system had clearly warned them each person had only one life.

Han Xing directed his block to change course, continuing to drift forward.

As he drifted toward a gray cloud, the system prompt sounded again: "It seems there's a cluster of evil power hidden inside. Enter?"

Danger! Abstain!

Once again, Han Xing altered his direction, continuing to drift for another twenty minutes.

It had been an hour since he entered the game, and floating through the sky island not only consumed physical strength, but it also drained a significant amount of spiritual power.

Suddenly, Han Xing felt dizzy, and his throat started to dry.

Glancing at his personal info, he noticed the state column had changed.

[State: Thirsty, Spirit Exhausted.]

[Note: You need to rest quickly. Driving while exhausted is not good.]

"Rest? In a place this high, how do you expect me to rest!"

Han Xing gritted his teeth and cursed.

Furthermore, even if he could overcome his fear of heights, the initial territory space of 1 meter by 1 meter left no room to stretch, and a small misstep could send him falling off.

It's not only Han Xing who's in such a predicament; others are facing even worse situations.

In less than an hour in this world, at least hundreds of thousands had fallen from the sky, losing their lives.

"This won't do, I have to explore the sky islands, expand my territory quickly!"

Han Xing shook his head, lifted his spirits, and continued scanning the surrounding clouds.

Just then, he spotted a cloud drifting in from behind, similar in size to his territory, with a faint green hue shimmering across it.

A few minutes later, Han Xing finally neared this cloud, and the system prompt came: "Inside is a faint cluster of Life Force. Enter?"

Hmm? There's hope!

Feeling a surge of joy, Han Xing entered without hesitation.

The cloud dissipated, revealing square soil wrapped in green grass before him.

In the center of the soil grew a tree less than a meter high, yet its trunk was as thick as a grown man's thigh. Its lush canopy was adorned with numerous red fruits.

[Juicy Fruit Tree: Shrub-type plant. The berries on the tree can be eaten directly and restore hydration and satiety.]

Han Xing felt as if he was seeing his parents reborn, tears of excitement almost falling.

He rushed to the berry tree and began stuffing the red berries into his mouth.

The fresh red juice burst in his mouth, with a slightly sweet and sour taste, just like a refreshing rain.

After a few berries, the hunger and thirst he felt began to dissipate.

Han Xing counted; there were still over twenty red berries on the tree, each the size of a strawberry. Eating sparingly, he could last at least two days!

Just then, the system prompt appeared.

[Would you like to merge this plot of land into your territory?]

Han Xing clicked yes immediately.

[Merge successful, your territory size has expanded.]

System prompt ends.

Han Xing found that his 1 meter by 1 meter by 1 meter square block had now transformed into a 2 meter by 1 meter by 1 meter rectangle block, with one of the segments hosting a berry tree.

Now that he resolved his hunger and thirst, his spiritual state remained exhausted.

Han Xing leaned against the berry tree canopy and slowly lay down.

Half an hour later, Han Xing woke up.

He had rolled unknowingly to the territory's edge in his sleep, with one arm dangling in mid-air, nearly about to fall!

"Gasp!!!"

Han Xing took a deep breath suddenly, cleared up instantly, and felt a surge of fear.

"Damn it, how can anyone sleep peacefully like this? How does anyone who moves in their sleep survive?"

Han Xing couldn't help but complain inwardly, while regaining a sense of crisis.

People can't avoid sleeping, and no one can guarantee that they won't unconsciously move in their sleep.

The initial territory was too small, even a slight move could lead to a fatal fall from high up.

Thus, their current priority is exploring these clouds to expand territory safely.

With this thought, Han Xing once again scanned the surrounding clouds.

Earlier, he explored the nearby clouds and found most contained danger, typically monsters.

Han Xing knew that for survival, he would eventually face these monsters, so it's better to take initiative while his state is still relatively good.

"However, now I can leverage my advantage to increase my combat power!"
