If replaced with handcuffs and shackles made of ordinary Earth metals, an Awakened might easily break free. However, these crafted from Spiritual Metal possess the same hardness and durability as standard equipment and are extremely difficult to destroy.
Once wearing these shackles, all skills and equipment of the Awakened are sealed, leaving only their basic attributes usable.
How high can basic attributes be? Take Bai Pu as an example. Excluding rare treasures like the Dragon Tiger Pill, top scorer in the college entrance exams, or the Profound Turtle Bead, he gains only 2 points of Power, 2 points of Agility, 4 points of Endurance, and 2 points of Spirit per level.
