Because it uses electrical power, the searchlight is far brighter than the so-called bonfire, and it's convenient to carry and less restricted by conditions, but it lacks in terms of temperature.
It's not like the flickering flame which has a deterrent effect on mutants.
Perhaps before entering the fourth basement level, it would be wise to prepare some torches to enhance the team's safety as they advance.
