Chapter 188 - A Hundred Thousand Troops Descend from the Skies

A hundred thousand troops descended from the skies!

The bio-weapons in the sea grew restless once more.

Zeus's strike had accomplished nothing, and all the Ancient God Colossi were horrified beyond words!

It was already impossible to withstand the sudden, full-scale assault of the bio-weapons—now, with countless armored soldiers raining down from above, it was truly the moment of extinction!

"Hold Pangeae City at all costs! The mechanists and researchers there are the most skilled—protect them, buy them enough time to retreat into the Sanctuary!"

At this moment of planetary life and death, Zeus and Odin—once proud god-kings—had no mind to uphold old racial prejudices.

In such peril, the highest inheritance must be preserved, to lay a stronger foundation for the next cycle of rebirth.

Odin and Fuxi exchanged a glance, then each took one of Nuwa's arms, supporting her as they drew back toward the seas beneath Pangeae City.

For the first time, Thor and Zeus—the two masters of thunder—fought side by side.

Zeus thrust his right hand into the void, wrenching forth once more a thunder-spear tens of meters long. But instead of hurling it skyward, he flung it in front of Thor.

With a thunderous shout, Thor swung his hammer wide and smashed it down onto the spear's haft like driving a nail.

A crackling roar split the air!

Under the might of Mjolnir, the spear of lightning thickened and lengthened in an instant, transforming into a colossal lance of pure lightning, which streaked toward the heavens.

"Oi! These damn natives—still not finished?!"

Kizaru squinted at the incoming lance of lightning, half irritated, half amused.

Never mind that they couldn't tell friend from foe—they somehow always managed to target him, the one most fond of slacking off.

As the saying went, what goes around comes around…

Sighing, he snatched a massive chainsword from the hands of a nearby Navy warrior, hefting it crosswise like a shield. With a sharp kick to the soldier—who swore furiously as he was sent tumbling—Kizaru propelled himself straight toward the incoming lightning lance.

Armament Haki had already infused the chainsword, pushing its energy defenses to the limit.

This lance was far greater than the earlier thunder-spear, and Kizaru dared not underestimate it.

If he were injured by his supposed "native allies," the shame would be unbearable.

Crack!

The lance of lightning slammed into the Haki-forged blade, like the mightiest spear clashing against the sturdiest shield. The collision erupted into a cataclysmic shockwave of energy.

But Kizaru was ready. His Armament Haki surged upward against the explosive impact, forming a dome-like barrier that shielded the Navy warriors behind him.

He had successfully neutralized Zeus and Thor's combined strike—but his heart was pounding.

Though it seemed unassuming compared to the exaggerated powers of the Devil Fruits back on Pirate Star, the lance contained terrifying, piercing energy. It had nearly tipped him into disaster!

Were it not for his recent relentless training—learning to layer wave upon wave of Haki defenses with fluid precision—he would never have withstood the blast.

"Damn it… striking to kill without even knowing who's who?!"

Kizaru flushed with anger, yet with Roya's strict order not to fight the natives, he could only swallow his frustration.

At that moment, a Spinyback Turtle, drawn by the violent energy clash, leapt high from the waves. Its brute brain of flesh and energy unable to recognize danger, it came crashing down directly toward Kizaru, who was still bracing under his barrier.

Finally—an outlet for his pent-up rage.

With a twist of his wrist, Kizaru angled the chainsword downward. The barrier's contained lightning and impact energy surged outward in a concentrated wave, blasting straight into the beast's skull.

Using a small input of energy to redirect the massive energies unleashed—this was a combat method pioneered by Roya himself, now second nature to Kizaru.

The raging lightning penetrated the turtle's famously thick hide, flooding every cell with searing current. Its primitive controller-mind nearly shorted out on the spot.

Hot on its heels, Kizaru's Haki surged inside, guided by the lightning's own mapping, driving straight for the turtle's three vital hearts.

For bio-weapons, severing their energy transmission was the key to victory. That much, Kizaru had long since learned.

All three hearts were shredded in an instant, cutting off lifeblood energy to the massive frame. At the same moment, Kizaru's chainsword pierced through the beast's supposedly impenetrable skull.

He and his two-meter-tall armored frame were but a flea against the hundred-meter titan.

Yet this flea carved clean through it from head to heart!

Before the stunned eyes of Zeus and the other colossi, Kizaru and the Spinyback Turtle crashed into the sea, one small splash, one colossal surge.

Athena yanked her Chaos Blades from the corpse of a Tail-Rat, raising her voice:

"Focus on the monsters first! Those paratroopers… they seem to be after the beasts as well!"

Zeus and Thor both recalled the earlier wave of peaceful mental transmission, and seeing Kizaru's actions, could no longer deny the likelihood of Athena's judgment.

Mars braced his shield against an icy-blue laser, shouting:

"Stop hesitating! Whatever those above are, the ones below are certainly our enemies! Fight! Do you want them to rally and besiege Pangeae City?!"

Zeus and Thor tensed, no longer daring to waver. They each struck down a nearby Tail-Rat.

By the time they had slain their prey, the armored warriors had plunged en masse into the sea!

Countless points of blue light lit the depths, illuminating the abyssal waters—mirroring the pure blue sky above.

Athena peered downward:

Those armored warriors, barely two meters in height, darted through the waters like hunting blades. Their chainswords tore the sea into deadly currents, striking from impossible angles—angles the colossal beasts could never defend against.

In no time at all, the waters were stained black with the oozing ichor of slain monsters.
