In the end, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya was sealed by her two sons.
The chakra of the God Tree was sealed within Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo, while Kaguya's body—merged with the Ten-Tails—was imprisoned using the supreme power of the Rinnegan. As part of this sealing, her physical form was exiled into the heavens, becoming what the world would later know as the moon.
Afterward, the continent once again entered an era of peace.
Hagoromo, having pioneered the use of chakra and developed ninjutsu, came to be revered as the Sage of Six Paths. As for his younger brother, Ōtsutsuki Hamura, his whereabouts gradually faded from history.
Although humanity now possessed the tremendous power of chakra, large-scale wars did not immediately erupt due to the presence of the Sage of Six Paths. However, minor conflicts never truly ceased. Over time, resentment toward Hagoromo's authority grew, and the fires of war once again began to spread.
Even with his immense power, Hagoromo could not contend with the entire continent alone. Thus, he chose only to protect those closest to him. The great nations, wary of his strength, refrained from provoking him directly, and an unstable balance was formed.
As the Sage of Six Paths aged, his wife bore him two sons.
The elder was Indra, and the younger was Asura.
Both inherited chakra, yet their growth paths diverged dramatically.
Indra was a prodigy—brilliant, decisive, and overwhelmingly talented. He inherited Hagoromo's powerful dōjutsu and possessed natural genius in chakra control.
Asura, on the other hand, inherited chakra but none of his father's extraordinary bloodline powers. In his youth, he was far weaker than his brother and lagged behind in every measurable way.
Yet Asura did not despair.
Instead, he discovered a different truth about chakra.
Chakra was not merely power—it was connection.
Asura learned to resonate his chakra with others, forming bonds that allowed mutual understanding and shared intent. Through this spiritual chakra, he united those who trusted him, gradually forming a large following.
Indra, by contrast, relied on overwhelming force to subdue and command his followers.
Both brothers sought to fulfill their father's dream—to bring true peace to the world—but each chose a vastly different path.
By this time, Hagoromo's life was nearing its end.
The power of the Ten-Tails sealed within him was immense, yet incomplete. While it granted unparalleled strength, it also constantly eroded his body and spirit. Hagoromo understood that if the Ten-Tails' power were ever fully restored, he would walk the same path as Kaguya.
Thus, before his death, Hagoromo divided the Ten-Tails' chakra into nine parts, creating the Nine Tailed Beasts, each embodying a portion of that power.
At the same time, he entrusted leadership of the shinobi world to Asura, believing that Asura's heart—and his ability to connect people through chakra—was the true path to lasting peace, rather than rule through force.
After inheriting his father's will, Asura's power grew rapidly.
But Indra, dissatisfied with Hagoromo's decision, turned against his brother. The two clashed repeatedly, each unwavering in his ideals.
Indra, blessed with overwhelming talent and dōjutsu, remained superior in raw power. Even Asura acknowledged this. In desperation, Asura reached out through his spiritual chakra to the Nine Tailed Beasts.
Moved by Asura's sincerity and resolve, the tailed beasts chose to lend him their strength.
With their aid, Asura finally stood on equal footing with Indra.
Their conflict, however, never truly ended.
Even after death, their obsession and hatred took root within their bloodlines, passing down through generation after generation. Over centuries, the descendants of Indra and Asura continued their endless struggle.
Indra's lineage eventually became known as the Uchiha Clan.
Asura's descendants formed the Senju Clan.
As time passed, the power of both bloodlines gradually declined—but the hatred between them endured.
An inheritance without end.
As the bloodlines continued to thin, the power of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan gradually declined.
Eventually, most descendants could no longer awaken it at all—their dōjutsu regressing and stabilizing at the level of the three-tomoe Sharingan. For nearly a century, the Mangekyō Sharingan failed to appear in the world.
At the same time, the power of spiritual chakra—the chakra of the heart—also deteriorated. The ability to resonate souls and communicate spiritually faded away, until the greatest strength of the two lineages was all but forgotten.
During the Warring States Period of the shinobi world, two exceptional figures finally emerged, restoring the long-lost peak power of their clans to the world.
Madara Uchiha.
Hashirama Senju.
"So that's how chakra truly came to be…"
Ash slowly exhaled as he finished reading.
"But this stone tablet… it's incomplete."
Not only did it fail to explain where Hamura, the younger brother of the Sage of Six Paths, had gone—it also raised even more troubling questions about the Sage himself.
"If he was capable of sealing Kaguya—the Ten-Tails incarnate—then saving her shouldn't have been impossible," Ash muttered. "Unless… that old man had his own agenda."
After carefully reviewing the tablet's contents, Ash began drawing his own conclusions.
As for the portions that could only be read with the Rinnegan, Ash was completely unable to decipher them. After all, he had yet to awaken that eye.
"If the Sage of Six Paths himself had problems," Ash reasoned,
"then the affairs of his two sons were either manipulated behind the scenes—or this tablet is deliberately written as half-truth, half-fabrication."
The story flowed smoothly, almost too smoothly.
And that alone made it suspicious.
Why didn't the Sage of Six Paths save his mother?
With the sealing techniques he possessed, Ash refused to believe it was impossible.
Then there was another glaring omission—the whereabouts of Kaguya's husband were never mentioned. As if he had been deliberately erased.
And finally, the claim that Asura, the younger son, was inherently inferior in talent.
That, to Ash, was complete nonsense.
"With the Sage's power," he thought, "even with diluted bloodlines, the gap wouldn't have been so absurd."
There was only one reasonable explanation.
Either someone had altered the truth behind the scenes—
Or the Sage of Six Paths himself was hiding something.
