Chapter 406 - Chapter 406: Fantasy Island Exchange Rules

In this world, reaching the peak of Champion level already placed one at the absolute summit. Even the weakest among them would still stand far above most Pokémon.

As for Legendary Pokémon-level power, Ash didn't lack it at all. His own strength alone was already comparable, and he currently had several such forces under his command. Between his Legendary Pokémon and elite partners, there was no shortage of top-tier strength.

By the time Ampharos's matter was fully resolved, it was already two in the morning. Ash and Sabrina returned to the Pokémon Center for a well-earned rest, while Emiya Shirō had already gone back to his own room earlier.

At the scene, only Nurse Joy, Chansey, and Jasmine's father remained. As for Jasmine, she also returned home to rest. With Ampharos's condition stabilized, the Gym would naturally resume normal challenges the next day.

Early the next morning, Ash woke up, washed up, and headed to the Pokémon Center lobby. He retrieved the Pokémon he had left under Nurse Joy's care the previous day. Although his own vitality could heal them, he still liked letting them occasionally enjoy the care of Chansey and Nurse Joy.

After that, Ash went to the restaurant and ordered breakfast. He planned to pack Sabrina's portion later, since her habit of sleeping in was something he had completely given up trying to fix. Besides, he found her sleeping 모습 rather cute.

Soon, the waiter brought his meal. As Ash enjoyed his breakfast, he took out his phone and called Professor Oak.

"Pika!"

Pikachu, having been well taken care of by Nurse Joy and Chansey, happily munched on fruit nearby.

"Ash, why are you calling so early?"

Professor Oak's voice came through. It sounded like he had already woken up, which made sense given the large number of Pokémon at his research institute that required daily care.

"Grandpa, I wanted to discuss something."

Ash explained his plan to turn his self-created moves into exclusive techniques of Fantasy Island.

Any trainer affiliated with Fantasy Island could earn points by participating in major League competitions. These points could then be used at the Central Tower of Fantasy Island to exchange for special techniques through Mewtwo.

Only the top three placements in League competitions would grant points:

third place earned 100 points, second place 200 points, and the champion 300 points.

These techniques would be transferred directly into a Pokémon's mind via skill scrolls, but only to designated Pokémon. Not every Pokémon could learn them, and every self-created move required training and refinement after acquisition.

For example, Ash's Pikachu could use Chidori at an A-level to S+ level of power, while a Pokémon that had just learned it might only achieve around B-level strength. Improving such techniques was far from easy.

Additionally, once exchanged, these moves could not be taught to other Pokémon. This was a built-in limitation of the skill scrolls. They allowed Pokémon to remember techniques, but not understand or pass on their underlying principles.

This restriction was intentional. It served as one of Ash's safeguards.

As for his strongest techniques, such as those comparable to the Eight Gates or the Navy's Six Forms, Ash had no intention of placing them in the exchange system. Those were reserved strictly for people he truly trusted, such as close companions or apprentices.

However, to attract outside trainers, he still planned to include some high-level self-created moves. Based on different attributes, he intended to release two ace-level techniques per category, while keeping his top-tier abilities restricted.

Aside from League achievements, points could also be earned through contributions to Fantasy Island, such as completing assigned missions. The rewards would vary depending on difficulty.

The exchange rates were roughly structured as follows:

C-level self-created moves required about 30 to 100 points,

B-level required 100 to 300 points,

and A-level required 300 to 500 points.

There were also C+, B+, and A+ tier self-created techniques, but these required double the exchange points. As for A-level techniques, they could not be fully mastered simply by using a skill scroll to implant them into a Pokémon's mind; they required continuous training to truly reach their full potential.

For example, an A-level Chidori, after being implanted into a Pokémon's mind, would initially only display power at around B or B+ level. To truly reach A-level strength, consistent practice and refinement were necessary.

Furthermore, only trainers affiliated with Fantasy Island were eligible to exchange for these techniques. Trainers from other regions or cities had no access. This restriction was intentional, allowing Ash Ketchum to control the spread of these abilities and ensure that these techniques remained a defining feature of Fantasy Island. Once something became too widespread, its uniqueness and value would diminish.

Because of this, Pokémon descended from Fantasy Island trainers, especially those that inherited these self-created techniques, were highly sought after by outsiders. Ash had no intention of restricting this phenomenon. After all, inherited techniques were always weaker than the originals, and even those originals were still inferior to the versions granted through skill scrolls.

Thus, no matter the circumstances, Ash's own core Pokémon would always remain at the pinnacle of these techniques, far beyond what others could achieve. This was one of the key reasons behind his confidence and his willingness to publicly release certain abilities.

The self-created techniques Ash developed were limited to specific Pokémon attributes, meaning some types still lacked such abilities. At present, the attributes he planned to release included Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Flying, and Psychic types. As for the remaining attributes, those would have to wait until he completed further development.

Even so, the techniques from just these six attributes were more than enough to silence external criticism and bring prestige to Fantasy Island.
