Chapter 407 - Chapter 407: Self-Developed Skills System

In addition to standard self-developed moves, Fire-type Pokémon can develop two ace techniques: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet and Great Fire Annihilation. Both are A-rank techniques, with Great Fire Annihilation having the potential to reach A+.

For Water-types, aside from standard self-developed moves, two trump card techniques can be formed: Water Shark Bullet and Great Water Surge. The latter has A+ potential.

Grass-types can develop two ace techniques: Wood Style Binding Burial and Great Forest Emergence. Among them, Great Forest Emergence has the potential to reach S+, but pushing it to that level is nearly impossible. At best, it would reach A+.

Electric-types can develop Thunder Clone and Chidori. Chidori has S-rank potential, though realistically it would remain at A+.

Flying-types can develop Wind Blade and Rasengan. Rasengan holds S+ potential, but in practice, it would likely cap at A+.

Psychic-types can develop Sand Binding and Sand Burial. Sand Burial has A+ potential. However, Psychic-type Pokémon must first learn to release their mental power before mastering self-developed techniques, which is why very few Psychic-types will possess such abilities in the future.

At the moment when Ash's order was implemented on Fantasy Island, trainers across all regions, as well as those already on the island, erupted in excitement.

Although trainers from other regions could not yet exchange techniques, they could purchase offspring of Pokémon from trainers on Fantasy Island at a set price.

From that moment onward, Fantasy Island became completely famous.

Even though skill exchange had not yet begun, it was only a matter of time. At the same time, the island introduced its own task system, most of which involved gathering resources such as rare herbs.

Among all abilities, Great Forest Emergence attracted special attention. While it could not compare to Wood Style: Tree World, it could still generate an entire battlefield of forest terrain, which was astonishing in itself.

There was a fundamental difference between Great Forest Emergence and Wood Style: Tree World.

Great Forest Emergence was a field-type technique. It enhanced Grass-type moves to their fullest potential while allowing the user to control trees within the created forest for offense.

Wood Style: Tree World, on the other hand, had a far wider range and vastly superior control. Combined with its ability to continuously regenerate life force, it was essentially an endless, overwhelming offensive force.

Jack was one of the original residents of Fantasy Island.

When the island was first established, his father secured residency rights, bringing him and his mother to this land filled with wonder.

His father was an archaeologist who frequently traveled between regions to explore ancient ruins. Because of their lifestyle, they had never settled in one place. The creation of Fantasy Island finally gave his father a rare opportunity.

That opportunity was to join the Ancient Ruins Expedition Team established by Ash.

In order to learn more about ancient ruins, Ash had formed this expedition team. With abundant resources and strong security, Jack and his father moved to Fantasy Island.

Now, Fantasy Island had gained fame across all regions.

Everything on the island felt new and astonishing to visitors, especially the Dream Forest and the nearby settlements. Every day, large numbers of Pokémon traveled from the Dream Forest to Maple Leaf Town.

Maple Leaf Town was the name given by Ash to the human settlement on Fantasy Island. Naturally, the Gym located there was named Maple Leaf Gym.

After settling down, Jack's father joined the archaeological team and continued pursuing his dream through daily exploration.

His mother opened a fruit shop.

The fruits sold on Fantasy Island were harvested from the Dream Forest and were rich in extraordinary nutrients. Trainers visiting the island made sure to stop by and purchase them.

Not only humans enjoyed these fruits, but Pokémon were especially fond of them as well.

Not long ago, fifteen-year-old Jack had finally reached the age to travel.

Although residents of Fantasy Island were allowed to leave and begin their journey at fifteen, they still had to prepare their own Pokémon.

As mentioned before, Pokémon on Fantasy Island could not be forcibly captured. Trainers could only battle them, and unless a Pokémon willingly chose to follow, it could not be taken.

Jack was quite fortunate.

Because his mother ran a fruit shop, many Pokémon from the Dream Forest often visited. Over time, he built strong bonds with them. Before setting out on his journey, one particular Pokémon that frequently visited his home chose to follow him.

That Pokémon was a Bulbasaur.

Thus, his first partner was one of Kanto's three starter Pokémon. Having grown up in the Dream Forest, this Bulbasaur was far stronger than those found outside, and its affinity with Grass-type energy was exceptionally high.

Jack planned to challenge the next Kanto League.

Recently, he had received updates through the Fantasy Island Pokédex, a special feature released by Professor Oak at Ash's request, allowing trainers to access information about self-developed moves.

"This… this is it!"

Staring at the entry for Great Forest Emergence, which required a thousand exchange points, Jack's eyes shone with excitement. His starter was Bulbasaur, after all.

"Bulba, Bulba?"

Nearby, Bulbasaur was calmly eating Pokémon food, tilting its head in confusion as it watched its trainer suddenly freeze in place.

"Bulbasaur, we need to work harder," Jack said as he snapped back to his senses. He closed the Pokédex and immediately changed his travel plans. "The Kanto League starts in nine months. We're heading back to Fantasy Island first."

"Bulba?"

Bulbasaur looked puzzled, clearly not understanding why its trainer had suddenly become so fired up.

"I'm going to help you learn Great Forest Emergence," Jack said firmly, his gaze fixed in the direction of Fantasy Island.

Ever since arriving on the island, he had realized just how different it was from other regions.

Fantasy Island felt like a paradise.

Humans and Pokémon coexisted peacefully, playing and living together in harmony. Every day was filled with joy. Unlike the outside world, where many wild Pokémon remained wary or even hostile toward humans, this place was completely different.
