Lucian stood on the gravel, staring up at the window where the light had just flickered on.
A slow, dangerous smile played on his lips. He was already calculating the best way to sneak into her room once the house went quiet.
The "torture" she had put him through during the car ride was a debt that needed to be paid. He felt like his skin was on fire, and he knew he wouldn't get a wink of sleep until he teased her for making him wait.
"Don't even think about it."
The dark mutter came from right next to his ear. Lucian didn't even flinch. He turned his head slightly to see Kael standing there, his eyes glowing with a warning.
Kael looked like he was vibrating with suppressed rage, as if he could read every dirty thought crossing Lucian's mind.
Lucian gave him a lazy, arrogant smile. "Stop me if you can," he challenged softly. Without another word, he strolled away toward the front doors, his hands shoved casually in his pockets.
