Chapter 30 - Amy Lane

Andrew gritted his teeth after hearing such words come out of this man's mouth. It took all of his willpower to hold back and not teach this arrogant bastard a lesson right then and there.

Jessica's brows furrowed, and she frowned. "Mr. Lewis, you're being unreasonable. Just because Andrew is young doesn't mean he can't be a manager. After all, there's nothing he can't do that you can. So stop trying to talk about my brother like he's incompetent. Or would you rather have a conflict with my brother and risk ruining your face in front of all these people? Because my brother won't tolerate anything that's said about him and his capabilities."

Andrew smirked and nodded approvingly at Jessica's words. It seems like his sister wasn't one to be taken advantage of, unlike he initially thought.

Hearing those words from Jessica, Mr. Lewis' expression darkened. He didn't think that she would say something like this to him. It seemed that the little girl that he took care of before was long gone. This Jessica now had more courage, more confidence in herself, and knew better than to listen to him.

'Damn it! How can things turn out this way?' Mr. Lewis cursed inside his heart while glaring at Andrew, 'It's all because of this guy! Jessica had always been obedient, doing whatever I said. So it shouldn't have been this difficult to make her listen to me.'

As these thoughts flashed through Mr. Lewis' mind, he clenched his fists and was about to shout out some obscenities when suddenly a young, beautiful woman appeared next to them.

"What is going on here?" The woman asked in a soft voice but with authority. There was a hint of confusion on her beautiful face as her long eyelashes fluttered while glancing around.

She had long brown hair flowing down to the middle of her back. Her gray eyes were big and round like those of a doe, and her nose was straight and slender. Her cheeks were perfectly shaped, and her chin had just the right amount of roundness that it seemed like an artist carved them out of marble.

There was a small smile on her glossy red lips, which were full and sensual. Her skin was soft and milky white with no imperfections whatsoever.

She wore a blue sleeveless, high-neck ribbed top tucked into a black leather skirt, paired with black high-heeled pumps. The outfit was simple yet elegant, hugging her figure in all the right places.

Everyone who saw her immediately went silent as though they were frozen solid. Some of them even turned around and pretended like they were doing something else, trying their best to avoid catching her attention.

The atmosphere changed from being tense to being quiet all of a sudden as the woman walked towards the group. She had such an air about her that it made even Mr. Lewis unable to say anything in front of her.

"I asked you a question." The woman said sternly as she stared straight at Mr. Lewis. Her gaze was piercing, causing a cold shiver to run down the man's back.

Mr. Lewis' expression changed multiple times, unsure of what to say or do now that she was there. He cleared his throat and tried to force a smile before answering, "Ma'am! Nothing's wrong! We were just talking about some things with my lovely Jessica. Aren't we, Jessica?"

Mr. Lewis then turned to glance at Jessica. But his smile disappeared as soon as he noticed the angry expression on her face.

Jessica crossed her arms under her breasts, pushing them upwards, which made her appear even more voluptuous. "We weren't talking about anything! Mr. Lewis was being unreasonable! He didn't want me to replace him as my manager and kept saying that my brother wouldn't be capable of managing me. So, please tell me, Ms. Amy. Am I not allowed to decide on the person who will manage me?"

Ms. Amy frowned while glancing at Mr. Lewis. "Of course you are. Jessica Heart is the supermodel of Dream Model Agency. So you have every right to decide who will be your manager."

Mr. Lewis' face went pale hearing that. "Ms. Amy! Please don't say such things! What Jessica is trying to do now will affect the relationship between the agency and our clients. She wants her brother, someone without experience, to be her manager. Do you not think that it's a bad thing to let things turn out this way?"

Jessica was about to snap at him, but Ms. Amy spoke before she could open her mouth.

"Mr. Lewis, this isn't the place to talk about things like this. You should have discussed it in the privacy of your offices. Instead, you're causing a scene here."

After saying that, Ms. Amy glanced at the surrounding people, and the remaining ones who had their attention on the group hurried away, afraid of being called out.

"Now, let's go to my office so we can continue this talk there," Ms. Amy said as she motioned for them to follow her.

Andrew glanced at Jessica, and when she nodded at him, both of them followed after Ms. Amy to her office.

The moment Andrew arrived in front of the office door, he realized why everyone was so nervous when the woman showed up. Her name, Amy Lane, was engraved on a small golden plaque placed in front of the door. Underneath her name was her title, which was General Manager.

'So, this woman is the general manager of this place!' Andrew thought as he stepped into the office and closed the door behind him.
