Chapter 130 - Archmage Rio

POV Rio

It had been 5 years since I dealt with William Afton, and the world had changed drastically. I had been slowly gathering Life Force from the numerous bad people of Earth. I had also consolidated many companies and some territories. I had to admit that the level of truly terrible people on Earth was depressing. I had to wipe out most Politicians, National leaders, Religious Leaders, and, in some cases, members, Criminals, Prisoners, and almost all people who had wealth over 10 million USD. Which ended with over 200 million people.

Politicians and National Leaders make sense. Same with Criminals and Prisoners. Rich People were somewhat surprised but not that much after the first dozen, as it turns out, you have to be a pretty terrible person to accrue massive amounts of wealth. Not always, just more often than not. In fact, that could be said about any of the purged groups. But the number of religious figures, leaders, and even members I had to kill was disgusting. You would think that religions that often preach about all sorts of holy this and holy that would not be that bad. But I was wrong. Massively wrong. I knew there was corruption and misconduct in religious groups, but I assumed it was a small group.

'Nope.'

Except for Shinto, everyon3 had around an 87% leader kill rate. And Shinto was mostly thanks to it being far smaller, but even they had a 71% leader kill rate. Turns out the phrase power corrupts is correct for most humans. Mind you, I wasn't just killing people. I was using the ability I took from Manus and even replicating it into a custom DBZ Scouter-like device that could measure the sins or darkness of an individual, and then I would gather all the evidence of their wrongdoing, and even some confessions, and then publish it for the entire world to see. I did this under the pseudonym Kira. Because I thought it fit. Just without the god complex and narcissism. I did this with all the people killed by Kira. As such, it caused massive upheaval across the world.

I couldn't be all over the world all at once, so I taught the Changelings I had been summoning how to collect life force. Turns out it's really easy for them, as it's very similar to collecting love or emotions. I also generally only went after the worst of the worst. I only authorised the deaths of those with at least an estimated -200 Karma Value. But anyone who had over -75 Karma Value had all their crimes published anyway. This massive upheaval of the world order and the death of so many powerful figures caused a change in many places.

For instance, the USA became a very different place. Before, it was a two-party state; now it's a three-party state. This was caused by the constant exposure of corruption, causing the Liberal and Conservative Parties to lose not only most of their leaders but also a lot of members. With the new Justice Party, which is a more moderate party that also seems to fashion itself after Kira, in a sense. They are vehemently anti-corruption and are heavily invested in improving the lives of the people. I may or may not have used this new party and the severe shortage of members of Congress to drastically change the USA. I had a few amendments and laws added that aimed to combat corruption and corporations. Like, Lobbying, which was made a felony. Health standards were massively improved to prevent companies from cutting costs whenever they can. So no more carcinogens or sawdust in food products.

Speaking of companies, I had consolidated them and most rich families into a single corporation. I named it MegaCorp. Creating A Better World, Today, Tomorrow, Forever! I then created a robot with Henry that would run the company in a way that benefited humanity the most. Stable prices, quality goods, sustainable practices, and ethical employment. Usually, such a massive company with a monopoly would be illegal, but when you have massive control over any government that would hinder you, you can get away with that. Which normally would be a very bad thing, but since this company was an ethical company that treats its customers with respect and delivers quality goods, most complaints faded away within a year. Honestly, the prices were so good that basically all competitors couldn't compete. And the company didn't have to worry about profits, as that wasn't needed. All it needed to do was break even, as the immense wealth that I collected from all those 'donors' would keep MegaCorp going for centuries.

I may have also created the legend of The Phantom Thief from all my... adventures. In my defence, Earth didn't need all those Nukes. Or Nuclear Materials. Or Bombs. Or Missiles. Or Aircraft. Or Oil. Or various other materials.

'Hmm, now that I think about it. Did I go too far?'

I think about it.

'No, I am just permanently borrowing them, and by doing that, I am really helping them. Now they don't have to worry about military upkeep or maintenance. And I helped unite most of Earth.'

Earth wasn't fully united, but thanks to the massive upheaval, the world is on the path of unification. It is via a different method than what you would think, but whatever works, I suppose. Basically, a new form of government is being built. Similar to the United Nations of Earth, you see in some forms of media. There are still some who aren't willing to join this fledgling world government, but more people are willing than not. The biggest reason for this is that proof of aliens was revealed to the world, which made humanity realise they aren't alone. I also helped by making it clear they aren't nearly strong enough if an alien invasion happened.

Though admittedly, most of America was quick to accept that as Superman and later Wonder Woman were literally flying around saving people. I also had a few other Changelings or even clones running around as other DC Superheroes. Mostly in the US but occasionally elsewhere.

I may have also created a few cults. The largest was the Kira Cult. Basically, people worship Kira as a God of justice. I did disperse them a few times, but at least for now, they don't seem to be a problem, as with my personal touch, I got them to stay away from Justice in a different way and more towards just living a just life. The other Cult was those who worship Wonder Woman. To be fair, that was my bad. I should have realised sooner that using Wonder Woman, who is the child of Zeus, may cause some issues. It also meant there was a massive surge in Hellenic Paganism. But honestly, the biggest changes in terms of religion were a massive decrease in religious participation. Turns out, when every religion is exposed en masse to be corrupt, people don't want to stay in that religion.

It didn't cause the mass creation of Atheists, just people have abandoned religion and focus on self-actualisation and spirituality that is personal.

Other than changes on Earth, I had made massive strides in everything I planned on doing. I had mastered everything the spellbook could teach me. From those books, I know I would qualify as an Archmage, which is very impressive or at least that is what the books say. Very, very few people manage to get to the rank of Archmage as it requires immense training, talent and more often than not time. It is so rare that they are seen only once every 200-300 years, so I was quite pleased. I completed the training in only 3 years, which should be a new academy record. My spell repertoire was quite extensive, and I was certain that I could deal with almost any threat. The only disappointment was that there wasn't any info I could use to defeat The Lich. That would require the ability to destroy a very strong soul, which I simply don't have the needed power. But I was certain I would figure something out. Especially with the mirror.

My theories were right; I just made an incredibly stupid mistake. I forgot to account for air. As in air pressure and particles that could and would have massive variations depending on which world I connected to. It was why the mirror exploded. Among other things. Now I hadn't made much progress on the mirror as I have been focused on other projects, but I was still able to realise my mistakes and note them down for when I get time to work on the mirror to get back home.

Speaking of my other projects. I had completely understood the contents of all the memory orbs I had. Indrid's memories were easy to deal with, as much of it could be discarded, as it was worthless and mostly boring stuff. But the Memory Orb I got from Santa was an entirely different beast. I had mastered the info and could safely say I was more than ready to construct a fleet of Star Destroyers when I got back home. I had already used most of the repossessed jets, naval vessels, bombers, and infantry vehicles to create several ships that could deliver me into orbit. One was based on the IPV-2C Stealth Corvette. The other ships were a mix of LAAT Gunships, Droid Tri-fighters, V-Wings, Y-Wings, and a Venator-class Star Destroyer. The Venator was empty like most of the other ships, but I couldn't help myself. I was at least prepared if the Zetans or that other enemy decided to attack Earth.

The biggest advantage was that I could build any of the ships if I had had the materials with the Workshop. Unfortunately, they are not invulnerable. But the weapon stations would be if they were turrets. And they keep the unlimited ammo. So it was both good and bad.

All those things took up most of my time for the past 5 years, but I had managed to slip in a few other things. Improvements to medicine, robotics, transportation, and space mining. Nothing massive, just slight improvements. With the largest improvement specifically in space mining. Which I had been doing extensively. I did at least do so away from Earth, so I didn't rob Earth of even more materials.

'Hmm, now that I have finished so many projects, I think I should take a little bit of a break.'

Crime was way down as Kira, combined with Superman, had a massive deterrent effect and generally, poverty was at an all-time low. So I didn't need to be as involved. Henry and M.I.M.I.C. could handle most of it.

'But what do I do to relax?'

It was at that time I remembered an old friend from when I first arrived on this world. I searched my inventory and quickly found it.

'Romance Academy 7? I am not usually a visual novel kind of person, but why the heck not?'

Author's Note:

A lot happened. I do want to say that I am not saying all religions are bad, just that most people who become leaders in said groups are almost always terrible people (IN MY OPINION) (Don't sue me!). Like, for instance, those mega churches that have multimillionaire leaders/preachers. I don't care what you believe in; everyone should agree that it is suspicious as heck. And let's be honest, corruption is pretty pervasive, especially in the US, where mega corporations can spend millions of dollars lobbying (bribing) politicians to do what they want. That and generally, you don't become a billionaire from being a good person and paying your taxes. Not saying they are all bad, just most of them. The next chapter will have a massive level up. Until next time, Ciao.
