POV Rio
One week after killing the Adventure Time Lich, I had managed to complete the last coordinate with the compass. It would have taken me a while to get to it, as I was a ways away from finding this coordinate naturally. But now that I had it, I was extremely excited and decided to jump right in.
Once I left the mirror, the first thing I noticed was the blinding light. Everywhere I looked was reflected light. It was gold. An absolute massive amount of gold. Literally mountains of gold of various sizes and shapes. And I felt uninterested. I already had all the gold I would ever need, and when you think about it, cosmically, gold wasn't that valuable. I mean, even on Earth, it was really valuable because humans said it for most of its lifespan. It was only much later on that humans discovered gold could be used for electronics.
The hoard did have various other things mixed in, such as armor, weapons, gems, and other random shiny things, but I didn't see anything I would need. I was starting to worry that I had wasted my time when I heard the distinct sound of breathing. Very, very loud breathing. When I went to investigate, I found a massive dragon sleeping under the gold.
'That seems uncomfortable. But I guess they have their heads out to avoid breathing in gold. Which I doubt would be pleasant. Hmm, they seem familiar.'
I had a guess, but to confirm, I first turned on my ability to see inner darkness, and as soon as I did, I was absolutely positive I knew who this was.
'Smaug, Smaug the Golden, Smaug the Impenetrable, Smaug the Terrible, The Dragon Dread, and so on. Okay, maybe this world might have something I could use. But what?'
I decided to first stealthily steal everything that wasn't nailed down. My Sneak skill, various buffs, my friendly status to all dragons, and lastly the fact that Smaug was a deep sleeper let me steal just about everything in the hoard. Now I could have left the hoard, but I figured if I was going to kill Smaug, I should at least get paid. At the same time, I also sent some magic clones to the outside to do a few things. The first was that Dale was built into a new base. They focused on fortifying Dale for now, and later, I would send them out to scout around.
The loot was pretty good. It was a bit less than the amount I got from Equus, but it was still neat. The real prize was the various rare metals. I also found a few magic items, but none were that crazy. From what I could tell, one of them was the Ring that was given to the Dwarves by Sauron. It enhances the abilities and skills of the Dwarves if the inventory told me was true. I wouldn't wear it... at least not in this Universe, but the buffs it gave were pretty good if you ignore the backdoor corruption issue. I didn't take everything, however. Most of the normal steel and iron weapons and armor were left behind, and I even organized them a bit, as I didn't need them. The Arkenstone was also not touched. I also found several items that belonged to the elves, which I intended to send to their owners. I wasn't fully sure of their value, but I vaguely remembered they were culturally important to the elves or something.
Once I had taken everything I wanted, I moved to the food storage and started filling it up while also adding numerous preservation enchantments. I had no idea when the dwarves would come to reclaim Erebor, but the magic should stay active for several millennia thanks to the ambient magic in the air.
Once that was done and things looked presentable enough, I went over to Smaug. I had already thought of how to kill the beast. It was simple. I just had to wait for it to turn over and expose its weakpoint. Then I would show them the power of friendship and a gun. Mostly the gun. I could have used a spear as well, but this would do.
It took a couple of days for Smaug to turn over and reveal his weak spot, finally. When he did, I lined everything up perfectly and made sure I was certain I had the right firepower to kill him. For safety, I had trapped him in a box created by the workshop. Turns out that thanks to being an ally to dragons, I could build here with no issues. I would also follow up the attack with a mythril spear. Hopefully, this would work.
CRACK
With a loud crack of the gun, the bullet easily pierced the broken scale and punched right through the dragon's heart, and even if that didn't kill it, the following spear that used the new hole in Smaug's chest sure did. Smaug woke up with a rage and started to thrash about for a couple of seconds, but he couldn't break the walls surrounding him, and with a pierced heart, he didn't live for more than a minute before falling still and collapsing. I wait a moment and then store the corpse of the dead dragon. With it still being in good condition, it should be useful for a few things. A shame it wasn't a blue dragon, as I had plenty of blue dragon scales, but perhaps I could make it work.
Once Smaug was dead, I left Erebor and moved to start delivering the elven items. I wasn't really sure where they were, but I could make an educated guess. It should be in a forest. I didn't make it that far before I was suddenly teleported to a strange realm that was very... sparkly? I was a little confused why I was here when I suddenly saw an old man with a very long white beard.
"You're a long way from home, young one," the man says.
"Ah, yes, um, do I know you?" I ask.
"I would hope not. As that would mean I forgot one of my creations. But... You're not one of them. No, you're an outsider. Something I thought impossible after all the work I did," the man says.
"Are you... god?" I ask.
"In a manner of speaking, yes. But you can call me Eru," Eru says.
"Eru as in Eru Ilúvatar, the creator of this universe?" I ask.
"Indeed. But you still haven't introduced yourself," Eru comments.
"Ah, sorry about that. I'm Rio," I reply.
"Indeed, you are. I also know why you came here. Your world is in grave danger. But I'm afraid I can't let you interfere with the song anymore than you already have. I didn't even notice you until you had killed Smaug," Eru replies.
"Sigh. I understand," I reply calmly despite my disappointment.
"Now don't look so glum. I... I don't usually interfere. But you helped more than you realise. If you hadn't used that mirror of yours, I would have been completely blind to such a weak spot in my creation. The last thing I need is to deal with an Incursion. As such, I shall help you," Eru says.
I go to thank him, but he holds up his hand.
"But, there will be conditions. Destruction of a soul is something I have almost never done. I find it a truly horrible thing. But it is also the only way I can help you. My powers don't extend beyond my universe. And to create any artifact would cause me to permanently lose that energy, as once you leave, I will seal the hole you used. Thus, any item I make will be a one-time use. And I will require you to swear you will only use it on the Lich and nothing else. Only you will be able to use the weapon. Everyone else will be incapable of even touching it. Do this, and I shall forge you a blade that you can use," Eru states.
"Deal," I say without even a shred of hesitation.
A contract is brought out, and I quickly read it before signing it. Once that is done, the blade is quickly created, and I had to admit the design was a bit suspicious. The reason being it looked almost exactly like Methrunes Razor.
Despite the design, I still took the dagger and promptly stored it. As Eru was getting ready to send me back, I stopped him.
"If it's not too much to ask, can I ask you to send these to the proper owners?" I say while taking out the elven items.
Eru Ilúvatar freezes and then does something I never expected. He laughs.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! Of course, it is no trouble. You could have just taken them with you, and nobody would be that upset. The elves don't even care about them that much," Eru comments.
"Well, when you grabbed me I was on my way to give them back. I don't really have a use for them, and I recall them being important to them, so I thought they should have them," I reply.
"Then I shall make sure they get them, and I will thank you on their behalf. And while I can't say for certain what gift they would give you, I will give you something for your honesty," Eru says while kindly grabbing the items.
"You don't have to, you already gave me all I could ever need," I reply.
"I insist. You will need this later anyway. On the 4th planet of your star system, near the base of the largest mountain, lies a great mechanical beast of war. It slumbers waiting for a new master to claim it. I shall impart to you how to activate it and get to it," Eru says while tapping my head before I can thank him.
My vision goes white, and I see various images and learn many things before I wake up and find myself back in my lab. I look around and check my inventory and breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't a dream, and the dagger is still there. I felt like a massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders as I no longer had to worry about the Lich. Or rather, he wasn't a permanent fear and could now be resolved. The only thing left was to find him and kill him.
'Time to end this. Once and for all.'
