Why does he want me to get in the water so badly?
For a second, Ethan actually resented these thoughts.
But it didn't take long for him to figure it out.
As the waves of the sea that reared up into a wall continuously rose, splashes inevitably scattered off its rising face.
Plop.
A stray drop flung outward in a fine, hissing mist towards Ethan's skin.
Given how close he was to that wall of water, he could smell it before he felt it. The same cold and salty taste he had been smelling and feeling all night sent a chill against his face.
But this time there was another sensation layered underneath.
As the drop evaporated quicker than it should have, a thin layer of spiritual power vanished from the exact patch where it had landed.
Gone with the wind, and it did not come back.
It was just like the tiny cut 'Grayson' had given him earlier. It refused to heal, refused to be circulated by spiritual power inside his flesh, but the outside layer was still possible.
