Late into the night, Natsuhi came to his door and knocked gently. "Lord Kusuo, it's me, Natsuhi," she said softly.
After a long moment with no reply, she sighed and was about to turn away when his voice came from inside. "Come in."
Natsuhi hesitated for a moment before pushing the door open and entering. "Lord Kusuo, I came to discuss a condition with you."
Kusuo sat meditating and didn't speak.
"I am willing to hand over my Mysterious Peacock Method. It can be considered a sign of my sincerity. Could you please put in a good word for me with the Land of Fire?"
Kusuo finally opened his eyes slightly. "A mere Peacock Method is not enough for me to speak on your behalf. I have no interest in it." He was saying this to get better terms. For him personally, the technique was nothing special. His own strength had long since surpassed the need for such a cultivation method. But if he could give it to the Land of Fire or his own Demon Slayer Corps, it would be a qualitative leap in their abilities.
"If you are willing, I will voluntarily follow you and serve as your personal guard. Whatever you ask, whenever you ask, I will obey your every command."
Hearing this, a faint smile appeared on Kusuo's lips. Even if she gave him the Peacock Method, he might not be able to successfully teach it to others. They had all previously relied on the "Star" to practice it. Without it, they would certainly need an experienced Star ninja to help. Now that he had resolved the situation here, no Star ninja would be willing to help. That was why he had waited half the night for Natsuhi to show up.
"You won't regret this?" he asked, feigning mystery.

Kusuo watched her leave with a faint smile. At this moment, the Star ninja didn't realize that before long, they would completely lose their ninjutsu. Natsuhi was no exception. Without the "Star's" supply, their chakra would be depleted in no time. Natsuhi had already mastered the Peacock Method. If she could just convert her own body's chakra, she could surely display even greater strength. When that time came, the Star Village would likely be completely loyal to him.
Having such a village as his background was a good choice for Kusuo. Although the current Star Village was not as powerful as the Land of Fire, a large part of that was due to the side effects of the "Star." If they could get rid of that, he believed their strength could potentially even surpass that of the Uchiha clan. With nothing else to do, Kusuo stayed in the village for a while. He remained mainly to search for more clues left by Orochimaru. Although he had dealt with the Hoshikage, some of the villagers still had chakra threads attached to them, and he wanted to remove them completely.
"Is there anyone here who can forge ninja tools?" he asked Natsuhi.
She immediately understood his intention and quickly arranged for her usual weaponsmith to come over.
