"Long time no see, Sanguinius." Axis smiled at the Primarch, stepping forward to embrace him.
"Long time no see," Kasha added with a warm smile.
Sanguinius was admittedly curious about the figure standing beside them, a version of Kasha from the 41st Millennium clad in an Inquisitor's uniform. However, since Axis had already given him a psychic forewarning before their arrival, the Great Angel did not show any outward signs of shock.
"Indeed! It has been a long time, Axis, and Big Sister Kasha. And a pleasure to meet you, Big Sister um.. Kasha; my name is Sanguinius." He greeted his 'sisters' amicably, and the two Kashas returned the courtesy one by one.
"How is the situation here?" Axis asked.
"The war ended only a few months ago. We are currently undergoing post-war reconstruction and organizing the Legion. The only troublesome issue remains the Tyranids," Sanguinius replied. "I was actually hoping you would help me sort them out properly."
He knew that with Axis present, the Tyranids would no longer be a concern.
"No problem at all! Isn't that why I'm here? I will definitely settle the Tyranid issue for you this time. We do not even need to wait for them to reach Baal; we will go straight to find them," Axis declared.
Saiyans did not have a habit of passive defense; they usually took the initiative. Why cower? It was better to go immediately and crush the wretched xenos. Furthermore, his mood had been quite sour along the journey.
Watching two women argue all day had filled him with pent-up frustration, and he desperately needed an opponent to vent his fury upon.
"Hahaha! That is the Axis I know. Let me introduce you to my outstanding son: Dante. He is the Chapter Master of the Blood Angels, or rather, he should now be addressed as the Legion Master." Sanguinius pointed to the white-haired elder kneeling beside him.
As the oldest living Space Marine, Chapter Master Dante was over 1,700 years old, so his appearance as an old man with a full head of white hair was to be expected.
Under normal circumstances, the Chapter Master would wear the Sanguine Death Mask, but with his gene-sire present, Dante dared not obscure his face and presented his true visage.
"Greetings, Lord Axis." Dante, the Chapter Master of the Blood Angels, knelt respectfully before Axis and offered a salute.
"Living to this age isn't easy. Here is a vial of Tree of Might fruit juice. Drink it, and your physical constitution will improve significantly; the life force within it will make you much younger." Axis nodded to Dante and casually handed him a bottle. Beyond enhancing physical strength, the juice was a treasure capable of drastically extending longevity.
"How could I accept such a thing, Lord Axis?"
"Do not be polite, Dante. This substance is completely worthless to Axis, so just accept it," Sanguinius said with a laugh.
While the fruit of the Tree of Might was a rare treasure to others, perhaps impossible to find since it came from another universe, it held little value to Axis. The yield was quite high as long as there were enough planets to cultivate them, and since Axis was providing juice from the second generation of fruits, there was no shortage.
"Haha, Sanguinius is right. It costs me nothing, so take it!" Axis waved his hand generously.
"Many thanks, Lord Axis." Dante nodded. Sensing the potent life energy within the vial, it seemed his retirement plans would have to be indefinitely postponed once again.
When the Emperor had reintroduced the Legion structure, Dante had assumed Sanguinius would take the position of Legion Master.
Unexpectedly, the gene-sire refused the title, dumping the responsibility directly onto Dante. In truth, Sanguinius felt rather helpless about the matter; he was not originally from this universe, so he felt he could not truly accept the position of Legion Master.
"This is Mephiston, another of my sons. He serves as the Chief Librarian, and his psychic might is immense. Among all the Space Marines in the Imperium today, he could be considered the most powerful," Sanguinius said, introducing another of his favored sons to Axis.
Both Dante and Mephiston had already received Sanguinius's gene-seed, allowing them to utilize the angelic transformation and completely eliminating the two genetic flaws of the bloodline.
The entire Legion was gradually replacing their gene-seed, a process accelerated by the presence of the Primarch. Once Sanguinius left, they would have to revert to more primitive methods of production.
"You are Mephiston, correct? Your psychic power is indeed strong. I will give you a bottle of Tree of Might juice as well; take it alongside Dante." Since there were two of them, Axis would not be stingy and handed over another bottle of the red liquid.
"Many thanks, Lord Axis." Mephiston nodded, respectfully accepting the flask.
"You are welcome. By the way, I should mention that this substance possesses potent healing effects. The Imperium has recently been developing an upgraded version of Space Marines called the Primaris Astartes. It adds three superhuman organs, significantly boosting strength. You should consume this potion while undergoing the Primaris Rubicon surgery. With its healing capabilities, it essentially guarantees a one hundred percent survival rate," Axis explained.
He had already tested this method with Guilliman on Holy Terra. Belisarius Cawl, the inventor of the Primaris surgery, had personally overseen the operations. Every Space Marine who underwent the experiment survived, achieving a perfect success rate.
Since a single second-generation fruit could be juiced into enough healing fluid for hundreds of Space Marines, Axis had left a large quantity of the second-generation fruits behind before leaving Terra, enough to upgrade the other Legions.
Belisarius Cawl was expected to improve the success rate further after multiple surgeries, so using the juice only as a fail-safe would maximize resource conservation.
After chatting a while longer, Sanguinius led Axis and the two Kashas into the Arx Angelicum, followed by a tour of the home world, Baal.
Axis vented his frustrations to Sanguinius, though the Great Angel could only offer a look of helpless sympathy.
Axis kept his decision to repay this world's Emperor a secret, planning to give the Master of Mankind a massive surprise before his final departure.
After staying for seven days, Axis and Sanguinius set out alone to deal with the Tyranids.
The two Kashas had wanted to follow, but Axis stopped them. He ordered them to accompany Chapter Master Dante and Mephiston on a mission to locate a Necron Overlord in the Cryptus System.
Axis had full confidence in his Kasha's strength; a mere Necron Overlord would not trouble her, especially with the Blood Angels in support. The seven-day delay had occurred precisely so the Blood Angels' apothecaries could perform the Primaris upgrades on Dante and Mephiston, further enhancing their strength to assist Kasha.
Axis and Sanguinius did not board any ship.
They entered the Warp directly with their physical bodies, heading toward the approaching Tyranid Hive Fleet Kronos.
"Axis, after we deal with the Tyranids, when do you plan to leave? We are not from this world, after all. The longer we stay, the more attachments we might form," Sanguinius said, moving to Axis's side.
Having spent months with the Blood Angels of this alternate reality, Sanguinius had developed complicated feelings.
These children were pitiable, and he wanted to give his all to help them, but he was destined to eventually leave with Axis.
"If you miss home, I can send you back right now. We can come and go as we please, so it isn't a major issue. However, I still have major business to handle here. First, I need to extract Isha, the Eldar Goddess of Life. Second, I need to consume the shard of the War God Khaine. And the final mission is to devour Khorne." Axis revealed his full plan involving the Corpse Emperor of this universe to Sanguinius.
"Wait! Rescuing the Life Goddess and eating a War God shard, I can understand, but aren't you and Khorne good friends?" Sanguinius asked, looking astonished.
"That is the Khorne of our world. We are sworn brothers. But the Khorne of this world? I do not know him," Axis replied.
"But the four Chaos Gods... are they not multiversal entities? Theoretically, the Khorne of this universe should be the same entity as the one in ours," Sanguinius argued.
"They are just gilding their own faces—do you actually believe them? True multiversal level means completely transcending the concept of a single universe, effortlessly destroying or creating one. That is the baseline for multiversal. Don't be fooled by those four idiots. Just because a mortal has never seen a Space Marine doesn't mean he is the strongest human in existence," Axis scoffed.
Those four pricks were simply puffing themselves up.
