After leaving Holy Terra, Axis requested an ordinary cruiser from the Emperor and set off on the journey to Baal with Kasha. Their son, Kratos, was left behind on Holy Terra at the Emperor's request; he was to lead the upcoming Indomitus Crusade.
Before departing, the couple held a grand wedding for Kratos and Living Saint Celestine. The Emperor presided over the ceremony, attended by Primarchs and high-ranking Imperial officials who offered their blessings.
The entire Ecclesiarchy and the Sisters of Battle also gave their well-wishes. One was the Emperor's grandson, and the other was a Saint. In the eyes of the public, their union was truly a match made in heaven.
After the wedding concluded, Axis did not disturb his son's sweet honeymoon life and immediately set off with Kasha. It had been a long time since he and Kasha had enjoyed a world of just the two of them. Axis did not assign any combat personnel to the cruiser because it was entirely unnecessary. However, after the ship took off, something rather annoying happened.
"Why are you tagging along? There was no room for you here," Axis said speechlessly, looking at 40k Kasha.
He had no choice; his own wife was currently staring at him ferociously. Originally, 40k Kasha was supposed to serve as an Imperial Inquisitor and lead a fleet to investigate news regarding the Necron Overlord, Trazyn the Infinite. Yet for some reason, she had forced her way onto his cruiser and insisted on coming along.
This caused his own Kasha to be in an extremely bad mood. She looked at her alternate self with vigilant eyes and even shot Axis a warning glance.
"I am an Imperial Inquisitor. I have the right to commandeer any Imperial cruiser," 40k Kasha smiled triumphantly. "As for coming with you to Baal, I heard that during the defense of the Cryptus System before the war on Baal, Chapter Master Dante of the Blood Angels briefly allied with a Necron Overlord, Anrakyr the Traveller.
"They have somewhat of a relationship with the Necrons, so I wanted to start there to gather intelligence! You didn't think I came just to follow you, did you?"
She claimed she was there on official business. On the eve of the Devastation of Baal, during the defense of the Cryptus System, the Imperium had provided the Blood Angels with massive support, yet Cryptus still fell, leading to the subsequent siege of Baal.
During the battle for Cryptus, the Necron Overlord Anrakyr the Traveller and a local Necron Overlord had activated a weapon together, detonating a gas giant in the system and destroying a massive amount of Tyranids.
According to the High Lords' estimates at the time, the explosion of a gas giant should have inflicted heavy losses on Hive Fleet Leviathan, leaving them unable to attack the Blood Angels' homeworld even if they weren't completely wiped out.
Unexpectedly, the Tyranids gathered another massive fleet and headed for Baal, forcing Chapter Master Dante to execute Exterminatus on dozens of Imperial worlds along the path, leaving no biomass for the enemy.
"It had better be so," Kasha, sitting beside Axis, scoffed. "Once we reach the Baal System, I will have Sanguinius arrange a meeting between you and Chapter Master Dante. He will tell you the details regarding that Necron Overlord Anrakyr the Traveller."
She knew herself best.
Kasha knew that this other version of herself had ulterior motives. Her personality was one that admired strength.
When Kasha first met Axis, she didn't have romantic feelings, but later, seeing Axis's immense potential, she began to secretly stake her claim. If left to normal development, expecting a Saiyan to take the initiative was nearly impossible; Axis would likely still be single.
Therefore, this other version of herself following them was ostensibly to investigate Anrakyr, but in reality, she was coming for her man.
"If you want information, isn't it simple? Just send a message to the Blood Angels and have Chapter Master Dante mail the data to you," Axis said.
"Perhaps there is another method. Go directly to Cryptus. Although the gas giant there exploded, the Necron race should still be alive. You can go ask the Necron Overlord there. I think any Necron Overlord would tell you news about Trazyn the Infinite."
The Necron race was not like humans or other intelligent life. An explosion of a gas giant made survival impossible for ordinary life, but it was not a problem for the Necrons; those metal skeletons could still function.
"I am not you, Axis. I don't have your strength," 40k Kasha rolled her eyes. "Do you think I have the guts to run into Necron territory and say, 'Hey! I need intel on Trazyn, tell me now'? Do you think they would listen to me? Besides, Anrakyr the Traveller has likely already left."
She wasn't him.
Her psychic powers were indeed strong, but Necron anti-psyker equipment and technology were endless. She didn't dare to go there so arrogantly.
"That's why I find it strange. You are too suspicious! As an Imperial Inquisitor, you have the right to mobilize an army for your use, yet you didn't bring a single soldier with you," Kasha said, eyeing her alternate self.
"Oh, I feel my psychic power is strong enough. Mortal soldiers are useless to me. Bringing a thousand or ten thousand makes no difference. Besides, this is an investigation mission; bringing too many mortal troops is pointless," 40k Kasha replied.
"Then you should have requested Space Marines. Other chapters might not work, but the Deathwatch certainly would. You could have mobilized hundreds of Deathwatch Space Marines to accompany you. Or even a Sisters of Battle unit if needed," Kasha argued.
"Think about their strength. Whether it's the Deathwatch or the elite Sisters of Battle, how do they compare to Axis? Instead of bringing them, it's better to just ask Axis for help," 40k Kasha said.
"I knew it! I knew you were up to no good," Kasha said angrily.
"Alright, both of you. You're too noisy," Axis rubbed his temples, his head aching. He would rather fight the Dark King or go pick a fight with Khorne.
"Hmph!"
"Hmph!"
"What are you humming at?"
"It's my mouth! What's it to you?"
"I'll be watching you."
"Like I care."
"Go to hell!"
The two Kashas began arguing again without showing any weakness. Axis walked out of the room helplessly, finding the noise unbearable.
Sounds of fighting immediately erupted from the room.
The two women had started brawling the moment Axis left. Axis felt helpless; it really was worrisome to see oneself fighting oneself.
Inside the room, 40k Kasha was completely suppressed, defeated by his wife in just two moves. Since joining Axis, Kasha had been strengthened by Ki and had consumed the Fruit of the Tree of Might.
After Axis ascended to godhood, she was further enhanced by his divine energy. 40k Kasha was comparable to her initial state when she first met Axis; her psychic power was decent, but she stood no chance.
"Damn it! How are you so strong?"
"Heh, isn't it obvious? I'm just more powerful and more perfect than you," Kasha said triumphantly.
"Tch! It's all your man's doing. I know about those magical fruits and that strange energy. Father told me both can strengthen the body and soul," 40k Kasha retorted.
"So what? If you can, go find someone as powerful as Axis!" Kasha gloated.
"What are you arrogant about? Just you wait, I'll beat you one day," 40k Kasha vowed.
"Hehe! That day will never come."
"Ah! Dammit!"
Axis sighed and walked away. His wife had self-control and wouldn't kill her alternate self, so he let them be.
However, Axis was currently extremely displeased with the old man of this world.
He made a decision. Before leaving this world, he would definitely beat up the old man.
He had to let the Corpse Emperor know why roses were red. He needed to have a friendly sparring match with him.
Travelling from Holy Terra to Baal took a month and a half, even using the Eldar Webway.
They successfully arrived at the Blood Angels' homeworld, Baal. Post-war reconstruction was underway, and the Blood Angels' successor chapters had been recalled. Mass recruitment had begun, and the legion was recovering.
Upon sensing Axis's aura, Sanguinius personally came to welcome them, accompanied by Dante and Mephiston. After more than half a year, Axis finally met with Sanguinius again.
