-CHAPTER 16-
-FUSHIGURO MEGUMI-
"Yo Megumi!" I had just come out of the train station, dragging my suitcase behind me and was looking for my ride when a familiar cheerful voice rang out towards me.
The voice belonged to the white haired, bandages on his eyes and dark clothes wearing; Gojo Satoru who was standing beside a car and a nervous looking office-worker as he waved at me cheerfully. He chuckles. "You've grown much in the past week, huh? That hairstyle really suits you too! And remember to call me sensei from now on, okay?"
Here we go… I sighed in resignation. Unfortunately, Tsumiki had taught me my manners and I didn't want to throw mud on her efforts, so I guess I'll have to be polite. "Thank you Gojo-sensei."
"AWW!" Gojo faux-gushes, elbowing the familiar and nervous office-worker looking man beside him. "Look at him Ijichi! It was like just yesterday when he was trying to kick me away or shoot lasers at me! Now look at him being so polite!"
Sorry Tsumiki but this guy is just too annoying. "Please shut up." I said, already exhausted with his antics before nodding to the middle aged looking man. "Nice to meet you. I'm Fushiguro Megumi."
He nods back, using his fingers to adjust his glasses. "Nice to meet you too. I'm Kiyotaka Ijichi, an assistant manager at Jujutsu Tech-" I nodded remembering the side character that supported the original Megumi and his friends on a few missions.
"Now that that is done, let's go! You still have to meet your classmates, you know? And I have a mission especially for you and the other students!" Gojo cuts in between Ijichi's introduction, who stops and sweats intensely as hurriedly puts my suitcase in the car. Man, he really does push Ijichi around… It was a little hilarious though, and it was just teasing on Gojo's part so I didn't say anything.
Gojo hands me my uniform and an ID card."Though you should probably get changed first, Megumi."
My first day and I got the mission treatment. I sigh. I guess it's time to earn my pay huh? Though from what I remember Jujutsu Sorcerers get paid a lot…
I nod, taking them as I walk towards a public restroom. After changing my old clothes and putting on the Jujutsu High uniform, I stood in front of the mirror… feeling like a cosplayer. Why is this the same as the canon?
Well, it was almost the same as canon. As it came with some black colored gloves that were made of the same material as the uniform. Gojo probably added them.
Though the quality was really good, I felt that this piece of clothing could really take some beating before it became too damaged.
Honestly I don't know what I expected, this was an anime world after all, and this was one of the better "costumes" in anime.
So I just shrugged my shoulders and walked out while looking down at my ID card and nodding. Semi-First Grade right off the bat? I quirked my brows, only god knows how much the higher ups would have dug their heels in to assign me this rank off the bat. Probably not that much, I had support from Gojo and was basically a Zenin if you squint your (political) eyes.
Yay! Political support for the win!
But in the end, these ranks were kind of useless. They were just made by the weak to appeal to their own insecurity and ego. They never have and never will mean anything. Not to mention I'm stronger than I was when I 'fought' Gojo before.
… Though I wasn't arrogant enough to dismiss them entirely, because I guess they also held political weight in the Jujutsu Society. We lived in the modern age after all; the concept of "Might Makes Right" was left behind in the past. A higher grade meant better pay, more respect and god knows what else. And more money is always good.
There were more types of power than just physical. And soft power like politics could come in handy sometimes.
"Nice look, Megumi!" Gojo throws a thumb up while sitting in the backseat of the car with the window down.
"Thanks." I reply as I get into the car and we quickly leave towards an unknown destination while Ijichi starts the radio which begins playing a random J-pop song.

-3RD PERSON POV-
"Hey, have you heard about the new transfer student coming in today?" asks a bipedal, black and white, Panda as he walks beside the three other first years towards their classroom.
"Salmon." Comments a short teenage boy with white spiky hair and dark blue Jujutsu High uniform, with a white-cream colored muffler. Inumaki Toge
"Another one? Isn't that unusual?" asks a mean looking teenage girl in surprise, with round glasses, long straight dark green hair in a ponytail and beautiful features, wearing a regular female Jujutsu High uniform, while also carrying a spear with its blade being covered by cloth. Zenin Maki
"Why does it feel like you guys have had this same conversation before?" mutters a shy and nervous looking teenage boy as he walks besides them, with slightly spiky black hair and dark circles underneath his eyes, wearing a white colored Jujutsu High shirt and normal black uniform pants and carrying a katana on his back. Okkotsu Yuta
He shakes his head and asks. "Why so Maki-san?"
The girl, Maki looks at him, once again realising that despite being a special-grade sorcerer he was still just a newcomer to Jujutsu Society. She explains. "You see, there aren't many sorcerers and even then most of them are from the Sorcerer Clans who most of the times don't bother sending their members to the Jujutsu Schools, preferring to train them themselves. And most of the time the students who attend the schools are people who want to prove something, those who have been sent by another mentor, newcomers or those who have no other choice but to attend. So there are many years- like our fourth year and third year where there are no students. So frankly the amount of students this year is already a lot compared to past few years. "
"I see!" Yuta nods in understanding.
Panda and Inumaki listening to her 'rant', jokingly tease Maki. "Oi Maki, we didn't know that you were such a great teacher!" "Rice. Salmon."
An angry tick mark appears on Maki yells in annoyance. "Shut up you idiots!!" Panda comically hugged Inumaki, faux-afraid of her anger and quickly stood behind Yuta. "Protect us Yuta!" "Kelp."
Yuta just nervously laughs as Maki menacingly walks towards them.
BONK! BONK!
Soon they had resumed their walks towards their classroom as Panda- now with a comical swelling on his head -continues. "You know, they say that the transfer student is apparently the youngest ever student that would attend Jujutsu High."
"Hmm…" "Really Panda-kun?" "Fish Flakes." One can probably guess which reply was given by whom.
Panda seeing that they weren't really paying attention now, decides to drop the bomb. "But the biggest news about him is that he is this generation's inheritor of the Ten Shadows Technique." Maki's head whips in shock as she turns to look at him.
"How can someone like that be unknown then?!" She asks in disbelief, she was a Zenin after all; it probably came as a shock to her to not know this.
"Yeah, but apparently he was under the protection of Gojo-sensei and grew up outside the clan." Panda says as Maki nods thinking. So he shouldn't be like those assholes at the Clan... Probably.
Despite being shaken, she puts up a strong front. "Well if he's too cocky I'll beat him up!"
Seeing Maki go silent after her declaration but still visibly thinking hard about it, Yuta whispers and asks Panda. "Why does Maki seem so shaken by that news?"
Panda, looking at Maki walking faster ahead of them, whispers back. "It is because she is from the Zenin Clan, one of the three Great Clans; whose founder's inherited Innate Technique is the Ten Shadows Technique. She is probably bothered because the Zenin Clan… aren't the best of people. And she doesn't have a good relationship with them after she became a Sorcerer against their wishes."
Yuta nods in understanding. Internally vowing that he would stand by his friend if the push came to shove.

-FUSHIGURO MEGUMI POV-
"Alright everyone, settle down!" announces Gojo as we arrive at a pretty beat up part of the town, with an abandoned looking factory ahead of us, jumping out of the car to greet the four familiar teens – one of them being Panda of course -standing there idly with another suit-wearing assistant manager not very far away.
I guess the recession a few years ago hit this place hard… These were my first thoughts when I laid eyes upon the abandoned factory and the beaten up neighboring buildings.
Gojo continues cheerfully as he poses dramatically, gesturing towards me as I exit the car. "I'll now be introducing the new transfer student! Everyone! Get excited!" but Gojo pouts when he sees them not paying any attention to him and focusing on the darker haired youth in a jujutsu high uniform, who stands in front of them and bows lightly in greeting. It doesn't hurt to be polite after all.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Fushiguro Megumi. I hope we'll get along." Megumi says confidently as he stands straight back up.
"Nice to meet you Fushiguro-kun! I'm Panda." Panda says as he good naturedly shakes my hand. "Nice to meet you too." I replied curiously, it would be weird if I was NOT curious about him a little. He was a Panda after all.
"Tuna Mayo." Inumaki says as we shake hands. "He's Inumaki Toge. His vocabulary is restricted to only rice ball ingredients because of his Innate Technique." Panda helpfully explains, even when I knew this because of my future knowledge. "Nice to meet you too."
The next person in the line was the beautiful green haired girl wearing round glasses, who rather than introducing herself like normally, had been staring at me intently since I showed my face. Why though…? Am I that handsome or something?
Before she thrust her hand forward and gripped my hand with strength. "Zenin Maki." Oh that's why! She is probably assessing if I'm like the rest of her relatives!
But rather than back down, I smiled good naturedly as I gripped her hand back with equal strength- RCT enforced physical conditioning was paying off wonders. Gotta thank Madoka and good nutritioning for that.
Both of us stared off, I was still taller despite being younger than her by a year so I had to look down, neither backing down-
GRIP! GRIP! GRIP! GRIP! As we assessed each other's strengths both of us gained slight respect to see none of us backing down.
But just as the tension reached its peak, both of us broke out in laughter. ""HAHAHAHA!""
"I like you, newbie." She laughs, leaning on the spear in her hands. I nodded back. "The feelings of mutual Zenin-san."
She shivers. "Yeah, no. Just call me Maki okay? We're classmates."
I nod, smiling. "Okay, Maki-san." She was a future badass after all, and my now classmate, so there was no need to be rude to her. It's not like I was foolish enough to underestimate somebody because they didn't have CE, because I technically didn't have it until recently either. And not to mention my bum father was also the same as her…
Of course this has nothing to do with her looks or thick thighs… Not at all. And since I had never even met her before and only held a loose blood connection… it's not incest if I like her a little right? But I quickly shook my head of these dumb thoughts, internally remarking that despite having the life experience worth 35 years combined, I was still a teen- or a young adult –at most in personality and mindset. After all, all of those thirty-five years of experience was as a teenager or a young adult at most.
And for the first 20 years of my lifetime I was basically living as an apathetic person that didn't care about these things, but since I have woken up as Megumi I am much more emotional than I was before… so I guess some of my lustful thoughts can be excused… Right?
And now to the last one…
"I am Okkotsu Yuta, but please call me Yuta. Nice to meet you too Fushiguro-kun." Said the nervous looking, black haired boy as we shook hands. "Nice to meet you too, Yuta-san." I said as I finished assessing the youths (and one Panda) in front of him. I guess that confirms where I am in the timeline. If I remember correctly Yuta should've just joined in the past week or month.
I smirked internally, my battle lust showing its side as I felt out the boy's CE. No doubt about it, Yuta is a pure monster. And Itadori's description of his CE was right on the mark, it really does feel very ominous. But despite that I wouldn't say no to having a spar with him where we're going all out.
Though one thing was for sure. If we fought right now as we were… Yuta would come out on top 8/10. The only time I would've won would be the time where I summoned Mahoraga… Or where I overloaded my abyssal attacks with a Binding Vow that would kill me in exchange for power.
My proof? Well, when your ability was to quite literally see into shadows and use them… I could see the immensely powerful of the white colored Rika clear as day hiding inside Yuta's shadow.
"HUH?" The Queen of Curses tilts her head in confusion as she sees me look straight at her.
Honestly I wasn't expecting that my ability would allow me to see hidden things but I guess… It was kinda similar to how Curtain's (or Veils if you prefer) worked. But I was just guessing all of this and didn't really know why this was different from canon Megumi.
Let's chalk it up to being a different interpretation of the technique and leave it for the future me to solve.
Still…
Our battle would be legendary!
-Ahem! I always wanted to do that.
